Hideo Aramaki, gave us a tour through Kyoto in which we shall NEVER forget. Ensuring we made it to our next destination safe aft
On September 12 2023 We Had the honor and pleasure of meeting our Amazing (National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter) "Hideo Aramaki" ... We were charmed and blown away by all the knowledge Hideo-san bestowed on us. Truly remarkable human being and exactly what I expected from a Japanese native . Kind , patient and well versed in etiquette. Hideo-san is the Greatest Japanese person I've ever had the honor to meet. I hope to come back to Japan and see my friend Hideo-san again soon.

    The BEST introduction to Kyoto.
This is the best way to see Kyoto! Having a personal tour guide is incredibly valuable, especially one like Komi-San who lives in the area. Be ready for a lot of walking, but it’s so worth it! We got to see some awesome spots and get awesome facts and guidance along the way.

fun tour across Kyoto with good pacing and lots of info
Kommy was a great guide. He provided good info, made sure we were refreshed, was flexible with timing, and helped us get lots of great shots. All three spots on the trip were cool. It helps if you grab a JR Rail Pass before the tour.

Great tour if you have limited time in Kyoto. Three incredible sites, but be ready to walk….fast!
We took this morning tour and returned in time to catch our 2:08pm bullet train back to Tokyo that afternoon. It was fast paced in sweltering heat/humidity and I don’t think we could have done this in the amount of time allocated without a guide because of logistics. It was just my husband and I, so it ended up being like a private tour. I do think it would be hard to do this in a group of 8 because of the pace, individual physicality and the amount of walking in hot weather conditions. We logged over 15,000 steps that day and I found myself taking pictures on the fly as there wasn’t time to stop and enjoy the moments. My husband, who is in amazing shape, was smiling and shaking his head as we inhaled a matcha ice cream cone running to catch the next train! Great kudos to our 77 y/o guide who pushed us that day! Sumiko is special and we enjoyed our time with her. She even took pics and sent them to us. Do this tour only if you are able to walk at a fast pace for at least 7 miles and are already familiar with train stations. Take water & wear good walking shoes. There were two times I stopped to rest while my husband and Sumiko forged on, picking me up in their way back. The three sites were exactly the ones I wanted to see, but I think only doing two would have allowed for a more meaningful time at each place, including time for the guide to share more information, adequately pray and just appreciate where we were. If you’re not sure of taking this tour, two of the sites are accessible by taking the Kyoto hop on/off bus, but the golden temple isn’t. You should have a JR pass and will need to pay for a local bus to get to the golden temple. The golden temple is worth the effort to see it.

Our party of 7 enjoyed a private tour with Noriko. She was very friendly and pleasant. We communicated well in English from pre-tour until end of tour. The information she shared about the history and culture in beautiful Kyoto was helpful to understand and appreciate the people. Starting our tour early at 8am helped to beat the crowd and the summer heat. Highly recommend this tour, if you have limited time to spend in Kyoto.

Excellent one-day tour to see Kyoto's important sites .
If you're looking for one-day tour to visit must-see sights around Kyoto - this is it! The early start time to the tour is a plus as you get to see the sites before the majority of tourists come. Most important are the awesome people that made the tour worth it. From the time I booked our tour online up to the end of tour, everything was handled smoothly. Pre-tour questions were answered promptly and courteously (thank you, Barbara). The tour company was flexible in accommodating my request regarding the meet-up point. All the information pertaining the tour (itinerary, imeet-up point, tour guide information, etc) iwere provided in advance. Our local tour guide, Kozuo, is a long-time resident of Kyoto was very nice and a pleasure to be with. He also made us feel safe during the entire time, all the while ensuring we are enjoying our tour. We also did not feel hurried as it was a private tour. Thank you Kazuo; you are the best! I would highly recommend this tour!

    A memorable day in Kyoto
Our guide Seiya Maegawa is an outstanding guide, making our tour of Kyoto memorable. In addition to being a passionate photographer, he makes us laugh, teaches the kids Japanese language and gives us excellent explanations! We are so grateful for his exceptional service to us.
