About two hundred years ago, at the end of the Edo period, Taiseian was built at Horyuji Zenzouin by the great monk Kakugen of Horyuji Temple. It was subsequently relocated to its current location. According to the records of Horyuji Temple, Kakugen, who was familiar with the tea ceremony, sent letters to his fellow monks, invited them to enjoy tea at the tea room.
