    Exciting outdoor activities!
Fun and exciting outdoor activity for family. The tour guides are experienced and know how to make a little adventure memorable. Highly recommend for tourists looking for more than cultural experience at Takayama. Great nature is waiting for you just about 30 minutes drive from the town center.

I really enjoyed this tour! Our guide was Miyuki (Mu) and she was super fun and kind! She walked us through the main spots in Takayama, where she explained the history of the city and its traditions. She even gave us advice where to eat local ramen and it was AMAZING. I definitely reccomend it! Thank you very much Mu!

Shower climbing was Amazing!!!!!!! Miyuki Hoshine advised us to take this tour. Our guide was also professional, funny and very friendly. He helped us and made pictures. Because of this activity we could enjoy the nature of Takayama like we would never would. It was an amazing experience that we would definitely recommend to everyone!

A Great way to highlight key areas in Takayama
Our guide was very knowledgeable of the area and was very patient in showing us a lot of the interesting parts of the town. When we took the tour, a s it was still early morning, there weren't too many people walking down the old town streets, making it ideal for taking pictures without too many people in our shot. Outside of the Old Town, our guide also told us about history surrounding the places we went, and also pointed out many of the interesting shops and places we may want to visit after the tour. Thanks to that we didn't run out of things to see during our stay. If you are visiting Takayama without knowing too much about the area, I would highly recommend this tour!

    Great Walking Tour!
My family and I took a 45 min Old Town Walking Tour with Yama-san and had a great time. Yama-san was a wonderful guide -- very knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. I think 45 min was the perfect length for an introductory tour of the town and highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience of how these communities live. Especially Kanda house is a must visit. Eco tourism does exist here. Great example of living with nature.

    Online city+brewery tour of Takayama
Wonderful online tour experience with Yama-San who explained very well the local culture and exceptional aspects of Takayama. Also cyber-visited the biggest sake brewery and learned a lot about the process. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to get closer to the local culture. The tours are not to long and not too expensive. Great deal and I had a great time!

    Faithfully restored area
We actually had a tour group guide . The old town had been well restored and worth an hour wandering around. It is adjacent to the morning markets which are not very enthralling

    Great short walking tour!
Yama (my tour guide) was great! Extremely recommended 45min walking tour (easy stroll) where Yama talked to different interesting historical, cultural and culinary topics when we came across sights as we walked. He answered all my questions and I would highly recommend this for a short tour. Arrigato Yama!

    Kind and knowledgeable
The guide is very kind and knowledgeable. He can tell you about the history, traditions and fun facts of Takayama, so more than just the temples. Because a lot of the names (temples, samurai) were new to me it was difficult to remember and understand the links.

Due to my own befuddlement, I found out on arrival that I'd mistakenly booked our tour for the next day, by which time we would be moving on.
However our host Yama was unfazed and kindly offered to run a special tour for us later that morning.
The brewery tour and sake tastings were very informative and comprehensive and Yama was an excellent guide. Can recommend.

Thank you very much for joining our tour! Thank you very much for your wonderful evaluation. We were lucky to be able to adjust our guide on the day of the tour, but it is noted for the benefit of other guests that we are not always able to accommodate them that way. Anyway, we are so glad you enjoyed our tour! Have a great trip !!

Brilliant afternoon tour with Yama! We had a most enjoyable tour this afternoon - hugely informative and great to see how sake made. As a today afternoon the brewery was empty of staff but still loads to see and a super tasty tasting session at the end. Yama explained all the various aging/ tastes etc and let us taste the limited edition Sakura sake and our favoursite was the citrus Yuzu (tried again later in our Ryokan!). Recommended for an intro to sake and its history.

Thank you very much for joining my tour! I am delighted to receive another great evaluation from you. The town where I was born and grew up has some wonderful characteristics that I have come to appreciate after spending time in other parts of the country after I graduated from high school. I am very happy to be able to showcase some of them. I would definitely recommend taking a tour of other parts of Takayama next time you are in town. Thank you very much! Have a great trip!!

My family and I (5 adults) took the Sake Tour by Happy Plus, at the Hirase Sake Brewery. The president himself provided the tour, which we were very thankful for. Our guide from HappyPlus provided perfect English translation! We learned a ton about the process of brewing sake, its place in Japanese Culture, how this tradition is being preserved, and more. The facility was beautiful and well-kept, the sake was amazing, and the tour was informative. I would highly recommend booking this tour and others with HappyPlus!

We had a great time going through the old sake brewery. Our guide was very knowledgeable, was able to answer our questions, and we learned a lot about sake. The actual brewery itself is also a very cool, family-run operation that seems very old-school and unique compared to many of the other distilleries and breweries we've toured in the past and that also made it special. Also, the sake was pretty tasty, educational and the pours were generous.

It was great overview of the process and very insightful. Our guide was able to answer all of our questions and very personable. The tastings towards the end were fantastic and really showed the effects of aging, milling and use of different rices.

This tour is fantastic. Very informative, guides were extremely kind and knowledgeable and the sake was delicious. They gave a souvenir sake tasting glass at the end.

Our train had been cancelled due to weather and we were unable to make it in time for our original tour. They were so kind and understanding that we were able to simply move our reservation to the following day.

Thank you for a great experience!

Thank you very much for your participation in our tour! We are sorry to hear that the train was delayed by the typhoon, which affected your itinerary. We were able to flexibly transfer you to the next tour this time, but we hope you will understand that it is sometimes difficult to do so. If possible, we would appreciate it if you could contact us as soon as possible in case the schedule is not going as planned. Takayama is not only famous for its sake breweries, but also for its magnificent nature, culture, and history, and there are many other tours that showcase these aspects of Takayama. Thank you very much for everything!!!
