About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- emilyyT5290VH0 contributionsA personal perspective of Tokyo! This was a great tour of Tokyo! Taka was amazing at staying in touch in planning the tour. Taka took us to some of the major shrines and a few different parts of Tokyo where we talked a lot about different customs and Japanese culture. Taka was incredibly friendly and shared a lot of his personal experiences, which made the tour really unique!Written October 9, 2024
- 115marielaa0 contributionsTouring Tokyo's hidden gemsI spent a half day touring Tokyo with Yohei. He was very knowledgeable about Tokyo and beyond. He shared many stories about the city that I could not have found in any guidebook. Given that this was my third time in Tokyo, Yohei took me to truly hidden gems of the city and small local neighborhoods. After the tour, Yohei suggested a fantastic local place for lunch. It was a fantastic tour and I will certainly do it again when I come back to Tokyo. It felt like touring with a friend.Written October 9, 2024
- T1578IJjennyw0 contributionsExcellent Tokyo tour, highly recommended.Excellent walking tour (and a couple of trains) with our guide Shuto, he showed us many highlights of the city such as Meiji Shrine in Harajuku, the national park in Shinjuku (went to a tea house in the park) the famous crossing and shopping in Shibuya, plus more. This was our first time in Tokyo and we would have missed seeing these hidden gems if we didn’t do a tour like this. Our tour guide (Shuto) was amazing and connected well with all family members. The whole family had a great day and would highly recommend booking this tour.Written October 9, 2024
- philwV7875QZ0 contributionsMaking a busy city easier to navigate.Shuto was an excellent tour guide, he greeted us all at the hotel we were staying at, showed us how to navigate through the train system. He also escorted us to all the major shopping areas, were he waited while we bought our souvenirs. Would highly recommend Shuto to anyone new or even a bit of a novice of Tokyo, his knowledge plus his fluent english makes a busy city seem easier to find your way around.Written October 9, 2024
- Traveler6641880 contributionsTour of TokyoDid a tour on our first day in Tokyo, to help us get familiar with the city, a little more comfortable moving around. It was the perfect way to start our trip. We feel incredibly lucky to have had Taka as our guide - he has an amazing energy and was very warm & welcoming. He was very thoughtful in how he put our tour together; asking a lot of questions about what we wanted to see & do, then making sure to customize a tour that catered to our needs. He is very knowledgeable about the city and you can tell he is very passionate about it. Taka was engaging with all members of our family; from my wife & I, but also our kids as well (early 20’s). We enjoyed Taka so much that we ended up meeting him for dinner at his families Korean BBQ restaurant a few nights later 🥰. If you have the opportunity to book a tour with Taka, we HIGHLY recommend it. We’ve done a lot of personal tours around the world and Taka was by far our favorite guide.Written October 8, 2024
- alisonm6210 contributionsCity Unscripted is the way to tour any cityWe have used City Unscripted twice now - once in Hong Kong and then in Tokyo. In Tokyo we hadn't pre-booked a tour, and I only tried to organise something the evening before. City Unscripted went above and beyond to try and organise one of their tour guides, even though it was quite late in the evening already. The next morning Mari met us, and after discussing what our preferences were, she took us on a bespoke tour of Tokyo. She included "experiences" a wll, such as saki-tasting, and sampling street food. We had delicious Wagu beef strips barbecued for us a we watched, and then ate. I strongly recommend City Unscripted as their tours are reasonably priced and tailored to ones needs and interest. P.S. In Hong Kong our guide was Malin, and she was also excellent, and even changed the tour on the spur of the moment as we were getting tired of walking, and so she made a Plan B.Written October 7, 2024
- weeks20160 contributionsShort tour of ShibuyaWe only had a short time in Shibuya and wanted to get a feel for that part of the City, the culture and history. Our guide was Nobu, who was simply excellent. He made us feel comfortable from the first moment we met him. He listened to what we wanted to get from the experience and was friendly and warm. On top of that his English was excellent and given we don't speak any Japanese, that was perfect!Written October 7, 2024
- V6982YCmichellen0 contributionsDay in Asakusa, Hamarikyu park and Harajuku!I had the most amazing time with my guide. She was knowledgable, pleasant and very professional . It was worth it and I will strongly recommend Coco to anyone .Written October 4, 2024
- Y7308VYharip0 contributionsGetting to know the real TokyoToshi was just such a wonderful guide. It felt as though we were out with a friend rather than a tour guide. He was both so personable and knowledgeable , able to showcase my family’s varied interests around Tokyo. It was such a pleasure to meet him and spend a few hours with him. I was with my 2 teenage sons, who found it even better than I did. Toshi not only showed us parts of Tokyo, but by sharing stories about his life with us, gave us an insight into the Tokyo culture and lifestyle first hand. An absolutely memorable experience, and one I would highly recommend.Written October 4, 2024

- cesarsK6511EE0 contributionsTokyo city tourTokyo Skytree tour offered breathtaking views of the city, taking in the massive metropolis that is Tokyo, combining stunning views and modern architecture. We ended the tour in a local neighborhood, away from the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku, Shibuya, I bought meaning full souvenirs, commemorating this meaningful day. Overall, the personal tour offered an intimate look at Tokyo, blending must-see attractions with hidden gems. Noah’s knowledge and passion for the city truly enhanced the experience. I highly recommend this type of tour for anyone looking to explore Tokyo beyond the usual tourist spots.Written October 2, 2024
- mvport0 contributionsAmazing Firas!First time visitors to Japan, we arrived in Tokyo at 630am after a less than comfortable 10hr overnight flight. Getting through the day until check-in at 3pm with two teenagers was a daunting prospect. Fortunately we made the excellent decision to arrange for a private tour to make things easier, and we could not have been luckier than having Firas as our tour guide. He was amazing - so knowledgable, enthusiastic and genuinely passionate about all things Japanese. I don't know where he finds his energy but it was contagious and before we knew it we had covered what seemed like most of Tokyo, it was 5pm and we had to decline his offer to extend the tour several more hours beyond what we had paid for (without extra cost) as we we needed to get some rest! Firas is kind, smart, polite and respectful and was great with our kids - he very thoughtfully gave them stamp books to collect EKI stamps which our kids loved. As first-timers he taught us how to negotiate the transport system and how to engage with Japanese people in a respectful and culturally sensitive way. He continued to maintain contact for days after our trip, providing helpful advice on places that we were staying at. He really did go above and beyond...a great guide and wonderful man.Written September 30, 2024
