- Surf2Ski0 contributionsPetra is amazingWe hired Tourist Jordan to drive us from the airport to Petra and back, and for a 1 day tour in Petra. They provided a safe, polite, and punctual driver for our 3 day visit to Jordan. Petra is amazing and well worth the visit. It reminded me of Moab, Utah, and coincidentally the area north of Petra was called Moab in ancient times (which one was named first? haha). The entrance to Petra includes a museum and shopping bazar. Once you enter the complex, you can hire a horse for the first part of the walk for a $5 tip. You then enter a shaded canyon with a smooth path for a 20 minute walk until you get to the main "Treasury" site. After that, the path becomes standard exposed desert, and the remainder of the sites are out in the hot sun. The entire complex takes about 3 hours to see, unless you decide to hike or take a donkey ride up to the "Monastery" which adds another 2 hours to the trip. You will be approached by numerous young men about hiring a donkey, but they are polite and will leave you alone after saying "No, thank you" 2-3 times. Major tip: Get a driver for the day and then hire your own guide when you buy your tickets at the gate. The tour company does not actually have guides - their driver just walks in with you and goes over to a pool of guides sitting there and hires one on the spot for you. They take a cut, and you get some random guy for 2 hours. He will walk with you through the main complex, and then leave you at the end when you decide if you want to hike the 900 steps to the Monastery. There is a shuttle bus at the exit that takes you back to the ticket office (after the obligatory stop at a state funded "cultural center"/shopping area. The museum at the front entrance has good A/C and is worth a cool down visit upon your return.Written September 18, 2024
- A1352WIdonnab0 contributionsDo NOT use Tourist JordanDo NOT use Tourist Jordan. The night before my tour was to begin, a Sunday night, I received an email at 20:00 stating that Tourist Jordan could not accommodate the tours scheduled on day #2 and days #4-5 which was Petra and Wadi Rum because they did not have enough people sign up. For an additional $108 and $188 they could do a private tour. The customer service number was an area code in New York, USA. A seven hour time difference plus offices would be closed on a Sunday evening. I sent an email. A response was not received until 10:00 on Monday. Finally a phone call followed. I stood at the baggage pick up in Amman, Jordan airport discussing this problem with Tourist Jordan. Actually I spend 1.5 hours in the Amman airport waiting to figure out what to do since part of my package was the hotel room for my stay in Jordan. I wanted to cancel the entire tour since Tourist Jordan could not accommodate 50% of what was scheduled. I was informed they require 30 day notice. Bruno, a supervisor, called me to remind me of the terms of the tour. When I questioned the situation he abruptly hung up on me. I was stuck using Tourist Jordan. The first tour required me to take a taxi from the hotel that was part of the package to a different hotel for pickup. I was the only person being picked up from that hotel. The driver/guide was from Jordan Experience. He was great. It seems that Tourist Jordan takes the bookings then farms them out to other companies. Jordan Experience was wonderful. Contact them instead.Written August 17, 2024
- tgreen9630 contributionsJordan AdventureThe hotel is in a centralized location with plenty of food options. You are also not too far from main attractions in Amman by-way of 15 minute Uber or Taxi ride. I recommend Uber because most taxis do not have GPS and unless you know Arabic the driver will try and take you to places you may not necessarily want to go.Written June 28, 2024

- RichardH74510 contributionsDid not get refund.I actually had to cancel this trip. The company advertises easy cancelation, which I did within the time period specified. Five months later, I have not received my refund, and now my inquiries are ignored. Easy cancelations - don't believe it.Written April 27, 2024

- Happyld0 contributionsGreat tour agent with reasonable priceWe had a wonderful holiday organised by Tourist Jordan. We didn't pay for a private tour but ended up with one, which we didn't expect. Our driver Awni took us around in a van with just 4 of us. He was really good, not just a driver but he also explained things about Jordan to us which wasn't really part of his duty. We had 3 different local guides while we were there. A representative from the company called us almost daily to check on us and kept us updated with detail. We travel from Dead Sea, Amman, Jerash and Wadi Rum and all those places are amazing. In spite of the war in their neighbour countries, it felt very safe there. I noticed there are police and army at all tourist site entrances.Written March 22, 2024
- joeK4045AW0 contributionsSuperb Experience! Private 1 day tripSuperb trip. Wanted to see Petra & the Wadi Rum but was genuinely unsure about glamping & overnight stay element that seemed widely offered, especially as we already had a hotel booked, which would mean unnecessary duplicate cost. One day private tour trip with all tickets included so no hassle seemed like a fab option for us. we got collected on time from our hotel with a fantastic local driver Nadal; who showered us unprompted with water; snacks & pre-selected "clean" toilet stops. He even volunteered for an unscheduled photo stop for us at the Salt Sea. Nothing was too much hassle even though he must have been driving/working for 16hours+. As for the local tour guide at Petra - Mohammad, was brilliant. Knew so much, superb at navigating the locals too so we didn't get too hassled. Really thorough history & experience was second to none. Lunch was hearty at the Sandstone restaurant. Staff were friendly too. Next stop (even though we were a little later than planned) was to the Wadi Rum. Bedouin guide was friendly, even had his small son with him riding up front. Could not take more photo's for us; knew all the tricks & where to take them to get maximum effect. Really welcoming & we were given hospitality - free tea (no hard sell) at one of the local camps unprompted. Honestly, an enjoyable experience start to finish. Not to mention we still managed to have breakfast & be back in time for a late dinner at our half board hotel in Dead Sea. What stood out most to me was that I got instant email confirmation; follow up text messages confirming names of driver etc but also in the middle of the day, the manager called our driver & asked to speak with me to check how our experience was going & how everything had been so far. What a wonderful touch of true customer service! Often rare these days but felt really genuine; enjoyable & really secure trip. Highly recommend!!Written March 18, 2024

- colindscott0 contributionsAbsolutely relaxing stay overnight in Wadi Rum in a breathtaking ‘bubble tent’ followed by the stunning visit to Petra.Couldn’t have been more chilling and relaxing and at the same time breathtaking. Once in a lifetime event that simply has to be done and experienced.Written December 29, 2023
- lesliel5980 contributionsVan transfer from Amman to Wadi RumWe hired a transfer from Amman to Wadi Rum, a three to four hour drive. The van shuttle and driver were very good, however tow of the seat belts were broken. As a result I had to sit in the way back and not next to my wife. It was harder to have a conversation on the long ride having to talk over the road noiseWritten December 27, 2023
- Storyteller6863360 contributionsDO NOT BOOK- terrible companyBooked a trip to wadi rum and Petra with this company. Seemed reasonably priced compared to others. Some issues about pick up time differences but resolved with live chat function on the website. Around 2 weeks before our trip was supposed to start our flight was cancelled by the airline. This made it impossible for us to go ahead with the trip. Tourist Jordan boasts a cancellation policy which suggested I would receive a full refund less credit card fees. Had this been actioned I would definitely have rebooked once flights were available again. After several emails, WhatsApp messages, contact forms and live chat attempts I have received no response from tourist Jordan. I have paid >£600 for nothing. Would not recommend at all.Written November 3, 2023

Even though we stayed in Aqaba we were first brought from the hotel to the Jordan/Israeli border. There we have to wait for more than an hour in the bus for the guests coming from Israel. It would have been much better if we would have been picked up in Aqaba. Guests from Aqaba should also have the choice of joining the group at the time of departure to Wadi Rum. Spending almost 4 hours in Aqaba is way too much, especially when you stay there.
I understand you want to earn extra money with the boat/snorkel tour that was offered but please be transparent about it.
We also found that the bus stopped too often and too long at different bazaars along the Route from Wadi Rum and Petra and back.
Lastly, please review the itineraries you have on your web page. There are two and they are different both in timings and activities.
Otherwise the tour was fantastic and is a must if you spend time in this part of the world.

Everything was well planned and my family had a blast. Traveled with my wife and two daughters, both in their early 20’s.

The tour was amazing. The guides helped us to cross the border in two ways and the Bedouin Camp was really good, with comfortable cabanas and good food. Recommended!

Avoid this company!! They don’t pick you up at least you call several times the driver (roaming costs). Then, they take you to the Israel border only to come back to Aqaba later. They don’t follow the program and they take you to a fancy restaurant where you are obliged to pay 20 dinars (in cash =black) for a lunch that you have not asked for.
They made me pay 240 dinares for un updgrade in the dessert when the real price was 80!!!!
The hotel in Petra doesn’t correspond to the description either. You are kidnapped in a very dirty hotel far from everywhere and you can’t go out as it is in the middle of a noisy route outside the city (you have the impression of sleeping in the streets).
Any other option will be better than this company!!!
