- 1The tour starts at 5pm in the city center near the Dragon Bridge. From there, your guide will lead you through the heart of the city to various food locales. A brief walk between the different food spots lets you soak in the city atmosphere while getting ready for the next tasty dish. The walking between each spot is 5-10 minutes depending on what's next. At each spot, you'll learn about the dish, how it's made, why it's famous in Da Nang and most importantly, how to eat it! Food selections vary by tour, but always focus on things unique to Da Nang, like rice cakes, noodles, rice cracker pizzas, savory pancakes, BBQ meat skewers, banh mi sandwiches, and seafood.

- moumou1990 contributionsAn enjoyable tourWe joined the morning food tour. Our guide speaks super good English and he told us many good stories. The food was excellent. I especially like the avocado smoothies and the egg coffee. I give it a 4 because I think the tour is a bit pricey for what we got. overall, it was a fun experience. - becinsydney0 contributionsMore of an eatery hop than a food tourIf you are expecting a knowledgable class on food ingredients and culinary prowess this isn’t for you (and I don’t mean a cooking class). An enjoyable, light-on experience in terms of dining but I would classify as a food hop of local eateries, not a tour per se. Not well choreographed and walking in the dark down oncoming traffic is downright silly and potentially troublesome. Been on lots of food tours globally and I generally enjoy the educational perspective, this was however a bit basic for someone who has an in-depth knowledge of food. Sorry but needs improvement.Written June 11, 2019
- Protean230 contributionsGreat morning out!We took the morning tour with Anh and we ended up being the only guests for the day. He took into consideration some of our preferences and food we had tried previously to give us the best possible experience. Our favorites were the xôi gà (sticky rice with chicken) and the kem bơ (avocado with coconut ice cream). If you're a fan of vietnamese food and want to get a feel for the cooking in Da Nang, give this a try!Written May 12, 2019
- ReginaKim2720 contributionsDanang Food TourIt was an amazing food tour. Ahn our guide was great in sharing with us the history and culture of the food in Danang and Central Viet. The little food stalls in discrete street corners served wonderfully delicious local food. One of them was operating out of a corner house and we had our food right in their living room. Totally awesome and highly recommended.Written April 30, 2019
- emmai6730 contributionsHoliday hightlightWe booked on late to do the tour and they team were great with our last minute addition. We went to 5 different locations and all were fantastic, most of we which we never would have found/known about our being able to order in if we had managed to locate them - great local experience. Shaun was our guide and not only very knowledgeable but also good company for the night - the groups are small - 5 of us on the tour + guide and this was perfect to move between restaurants and to order and share a large variety of food. The tour can be as adventurous as you wish and allowed us to eat a large number of things that we probably wouldn’t have dared to if we had be ordering ourselves. Beer and soft drinks are also included so in my view great value.Written February 24, 2019

- David W0 contributionsChance to meet locals and eat as the locals do.A couple of years ago I did the evening food tour with Shaun and had an amazing time. So when I returned to Da Nang this year I contacted him again. He was booked up for the evening tours but suggested that we did a breakfast tour. Which we did. He met us near the hotel and we had a walking tour of parts of the city to get to the various sites. With Shaun, you can tell him how adventurous or not you are about what you eat and he will tailor the tour to suit you. We visited 6 or 7 sites, trying banh my (meat rolls), rice and clams, pancakes, fruit juices, etc. The walks in between courses helped. A very interesting way to see the city, meet the locals and try authentic Vietnamese food. Highly recommended - again.Written December 21, 2018
- thorfin000 contributionsGreat time! Highly recommended! We went with our two boys, aged 1 and 3. Shaun was super relaxed with the kids and let their energy and interests dictate the pace. The food was exceptional and seeing Da Nang by foot is the way to go. Our kids loved the banh mi and the noodle dishes and the parents loved the coffee. We would all go back and do it again in a heartbeat.Written December 17, 2018

We loved this food tour! We went back in November. It was awesome to see some of the local places he took us to. These were places you would never find on your own. Our guide, Anh, spoke unbelievable english. We got lucky it was just me, my fiance, and I on the tour, so it was pretty private. By the end of the tour, we felt like we were just hanging out with our friend showing us the local places. I will say, we paid $45 and they probably spent a total of $10 (if that). These places were such local and hole in the wall places, Im sure they were getting the food for very cheap. But that being said, there would have been no way to find these places on our own, and the food was delicious.
My least favorite part was probably waiting for the bus for twenty minutes. Not sure if that was trying to add some local flavor, but it was just an ordinary city bus, and we waited at the bus stop for twenty minutes. Also, the places are so local and hole in the wall, that the bathroom situation was...questionable at best.. if you really needed to go.
All in all, its the one thing that I tell everyone if they go to Da Nang that they should do.

Hi!
Thanks for coming on the tour. Glad to hear that Anh led you to some cool hole-in-the-wall places and that you guys had an awesome time! Sorry about the bus; we used to sometimes take it on the tour for the experience, but the timing is a bit unreliable (as you saw!) so we don't use it anymore.
As most of the places on the tour only ever serve local clientele, sometimes the bathroom leaves a bit to be desired. But we try to have at least one B+ or better bathroom stop during the tour :)
Thanks for the great feedback and hope to see you back here again!

Jan 2020 • Family
We are a family of 7 of various ages and Anh did a splendid job in bringing us around the small alleys, across the busy streets and explaining the different local cuisines we were experiencing.
Our local Danang petite guide, Anh, whose English is remarkably good and his passion to introduce his local fare in the hidden alleys and places that only locals will go to is impressive also. We have an autistic adult with us and Anh was very sensitive that his needs were met and treated him as a normal person.
Anh brought us to places where he will go to when he was a student. The evening started off with appetizers on the roadside and a back alley. The banh mi experience was our first and undoubtedly it must be the best in town as the crowd was building up after we placed our order. Apparently, the owner of this small stall makes all her ingredients from A to Z on her own in order to keep her standard high. From there we moved on to the back alley and visited Anh’s favorite childhood shop. We had the grilled rice paper with quail egg and beef jerky in the owner's living room! The sauce was delicious. The walks in between the meals are just what we needed to let the food digest before we indulge in the next stop.
Our next stop was to a noodle shop, another amazing treat. Their fried pancake with shrimp and pork is not something to be missed.
Moving on from appetizers to our main course, we took a GRAB to a seafood restaurant. It was an interesting shop, a clothes shop by day and a restaurant by night! We had a variety of seafood dishes, all cooked with a distinct flavor. Our friends even tried the Balut; a duck egg that has been incubated for approximately 18 days which results in the formation of a partially developed embryo within the shell. They said it was very good, not to my cup of tea. All the food was cooked n grilled in a small stove stall just across the street. The selection of seafood is plentiful.
For our dessert, we had avocado with coconut ice cream which everyone must try.
Thank you, Anh for connecting us with the flavors of Danang. It is an experience we will never forget and will highly recommend to anybody.

We thoroughly recommend this tour. Our guide, Anh, was excellent. He was friendly, informative and immediately established a great rapport with all participants. Anh took us to a variety of places, on and off the beaten track, and ensured we experienced the finest foods in Da Nang. From well known Vietnamese foods to original recipes, we were given a myriad of absolutely delicious foods. We were certainly full! The local beer was also very nice. Thank you Anh for your expertise and enthusiasm. We definitely recommend this tour to foodies, you won't be disappointed....Anh will make sure of that.

Anh's tour was a highlight of the trip. Not only did we get to try lots of delicious food, but the other participants were cool people, too. Anh answered lots of questions about Vietnamese lifestyle, culture, and cuisine. If you're a solo traveler I recommend booking directly through the website and being flexible with dates.

First off, Anh’s English was EXCELLENT! When planning our trip to Vietnam one of our main goals was to see the local cuisine. This is the tour to take! We weaved in and out of alleys and ate at places I never would have stopped at on my own. Anh grew up in the city so he is familiar not only with the food but he was informed on the history of the food as well. We were definitely not hungry after the tour. One of our stops was sold out of an item but Anh had a back up plan so we didn’t miss out on anything. Would recommend to anyone coming to Da Nang! Anh also recommended some places to visit on our own and emailed us a recap of everything we ate during our tour. Super helpful! Thank you!

This should be the ONLY food tour to consider when in Da Nang. We have lived in Vietnam for over six months and may be a bit jaded; we certainly know Vietnamese food by now. We heard lots of positive things about this tour and decided to give it a try even though it is not cheap. Our guide took us to places we would have otherwise never discovered. He did not rush us and we sampled so much food that we otherwise would never have considered. This is a great evening out and you learn a lot in the process. Reserve your space in advance!

We started our tour right on time and walked through several different neighborhoods to visit several different restaurants serving food that was unique to Da Nang! (Some dishes can't be found in other cities in Vietnam unless someone from Da Nang opens a restaurant there.) Some of the places we went we never would have found on our own (even if we knew about them), and a lot of the food we ate we never would have thought to order on our own! It was all excellent, and we left quite full!
Anh was an excellent tour guide. He explained everything along the way (his English is perfect) and was very careful to be sure he was bringing us places that we wanted to go and ordering food that we were willing to eat! For example, BBQ frog legs and durian for dessert -- he proactively asked us in advance, to be sure we would not be pressured into eating food we weren't prepared for. He also politely shooed away people who came up trying to sell us stuff. We also learned a lot of great context and history of food in Da Nang and Vietnam!

This is how food tours should be run. Anh clearly cares about food and walks you through each dish in detail. He adds context when/why you eat, who usually eats it and most importantly he has a genuine passion for food.
Quiz him on any ingredient, street stall or dish and he will most likely know. I love cooking / trying new things and was blown away by his knowledge of food.
Not only that but Anh gave us an overview of many things in Da Nang like the history of the city / where to go for certain dishes / how the foods came about to Da Nang and basically any other topic under the sun.
A lot of food tours I’ve been on, the host/guide isn’t always in tune with ingredients/history of the dish etc. Anh gives a really authentic experience.
Hands down try and book with Anh - he made the entire experience.

A really good food tour. Anh took us to places we'd never have found by ourselves. He was considerate, asking about our tolerance for spice, and we tried a range of foods, all of which Anh explained, talking about the flavours, how they should best be eaten etc. He also told us something about the vendors, which gave the whole thing a personal tint. I really liked that he was so into supporting these neighbourhood and very local food places. All of the food was to die for, and there was plenty of it. Anh's English was excellent. We had a great evening, and I'd reccommend this tour to everyone.

This tour would have to be one of the highlights of our entire trip. Anh is a great host, spoke perfect English and is very knowledgable about not just the best places to eat but also various other topics including the history and politics of Vietnam. If you go to Danang I highly recommend booking in a tour with Anh, it's well worth it.

Hi there, just wanted to let you know that we have booked our two wonderful nannies onto your da Nang food tour this Thursday evening as a way to say thank you to them for all of the wonderful help they provide to our family. They love to eat and am sure will be great fun on your tour. They might be a bit shy at first but are a laugh a minute once comfortable.
Because we are staying at the hotel to look after our baby, we aren't able to accompany them to the meeting point. I just want to check that it's pretty easy to find? Any signs or landmarks to look out for?
Also just confirming that you guys can help. Put them back into a legitimate taxi back to the Hyatt Regency after the tour is done.
Thanks so much! Fiona
