Rosie took us around the local market teaching us about the different foods and helping us to select some ourselves. We then went to a coffee shop where as a non coffee drinker I had a fantastic coconut chocolate iced drink. The actual cooking class was phenomenal, we ate each dish as we made it so have a small breakfast. We saw the community garden farms and tasted many herbs etc, then on to the market to buy some of the ingredients that we needed for our cooking class. Stopping next for coffee (really lovely cafe sau da) and then in to the house for the best cooking class. Rosie took us on a trip to the local market, where we selected fresh vegetables and fruits, giving us a real taste of the local culture. We then learned to cook a variety of delicious Vietnamese dishes, including papaya salad, pho, banh xeo, and eggplant. The instructions were clear, and Jolie made the whole process enjoyable and interactive. I left the class feeling confident in my ability to recreate these dishes at home. The whole experience was also lots of fun with games in between cooking. Definitely recommend! We are so glad we booked. Rosie is a beautiful, bubbly character who makes the whole thing gel together. The food prep was made fun and the food overall was delicious. 3 hours flew past. She helped us really experience the market and learn about local shopping habits and different foods. When we got to the cooking class, we made four different foods as well as playing some fun games (practice your pancake flips!). Rosie and her colleagues, Katie and Hannah, made us very welcome and were all excellent teachers. It was also really nice having this experience in a family home.
