- sandravJ1795US0 contributionsVery fun activity in Hoi An!I absolutely loved the class, what a great way to spend a (very rainy) morning in Hoi An! Every step was explained in detail and there was always someone to help or fix mistakes. Great team with a very good sense of humour, would absolutely recommend. Thanks!Written January 14, 2025
- Climber3132660 contributionsBrilliant fun!Really enjoyable class! The staff were amazing fun and it was a day to remember. They helped us produce some actually pretty good lanterns!Written January 12, 2025
- Karine V0 contributionsAMAZING!! DO IT !!Literally the best activity I did in Vietnam in my whole 2 weeks. There were all involved and always ready to help you. They were super funny and nice and I found it made the activity even better. We were 5 and at one point other people started showing up and they were still able to help us. It does take 2 hours to do the full lanterne BUT I PROMISE YOU it’s so so so worth it. If I could I would go back and do it again because they were just fun people to be around. I LOVED MY EXPERIENCE AND MY WHOLE FAMILY DID TOOWritten January 7, 2025
- karinabY1906PY0 contributionsBruno Mars Coffee Making ClassSuper insightful coffee making course. Our teacher “Bruner Mars” was so funny! He was easy to follow along and the jokes were flowing. After that we did the lantern making class which was fantastic and highly recommend!Written December 25, 2024
- 405madelinen0 contributionsDo it!A fun experience, with really helpful teachers who made sure our lanterns were made correctly. A nice souvenir that you get to make instead of just buy.Written December 24, 2024
- E3375YTryanb0 contributionsSo fun and such a unique experience!!It was so fun to make your own lantern after learning a bit about the history behind them. You get to customize the shape and the fabrics used, and they are very helpful if you have a difficult time with any of the steps. Highly recommend!Written December 23, 2024
- Traveler6539910 contributions100% recommendedWe booked the express class but ended up taking the full class and it was the best choice. I recommend it 100%, they help you to make it perfect and guide you in a personalized way throughout the entire process. Len has been the best teacher.Written December 9, 2024
- krawner0 contributionsBest Hoi An SouvenirEntertaining fun-filled lantern-making class. Cost 380,000 VND for full class (2.5 hrs) and 250,000 for express class (1.5 hrs). Full class includes the making of the bamboo frame. Can choose from 4 different shapes. Express class is gluing on the cloth part only. Recommend doing the full class for the complete experience. This place has the largest lantern making workshop in Hoi An with plenty of seating, cloth choices, and attentive teaching. Lantern collapses down for travel. Book direct through their website and pay on arrival (cheaper than Klook). Accepts credit cards. Family-run business with enthusiastic, funny instructors. Fluent in English. Includes free tea. Take a Grab there because it’s not in the old town. Was our favorite activity in Hoi An. Overall highly recommended.Written December 6, 2024
- sharonwI3414MC0 contributionsBeautiful LanternsOur teacher Len was able to instruct our not so crafty group to make beautiful lanterns in just a couple of hours. He and a coworker were very helpful and encouraging. Len was delightful and provided us with a nice cup of tea and some good music while we worked away. Thank you for a wonderful experience!Written December 2, 2024
- evatH3386VZ0 contributionsHighly recommend, very good fun!The lantern workshop was so fun!! All the staff were so patient and really funny. The lanterns turned out beautiful. I would highly recommend for anyone!Written November 30, 2024
- Tambarambaa0 contributionsEnjoyable and fun lantern making. So much fun. We loved making a foldable lantern to take home as a souvenir. We happened to score Bruno Mars as our teacher and he made it so fun. He spoke excellent English so understood our humor. A great way to end out time in the magical Hoi An.Written November 16, 2024
- cococoron0 contributionsSuper Fun!!First, I decided on the shape of the lantern, then started making the frame, and decided on the color and pattern of the fabric. The staff were very supportive and helped us with even the smallest of corrections, so I was able to create a work that I was satisfied with. The two hours flew by. Please enjoy the joy of making a one-of-a-kind lantern with your own hands.Written November 15, 2024

My wife and I both really enjoyed learning about Vietnamese coffee at this workshop.
It was well run and the family team did a great job guide us through making 5 different coffees. They were all delicious but I would recommend going on an empty stomach as 5 coffees was quite filling.
A great activity for coffee lovers for sure.

The workshop gave a good insight into Vietnamese coffee culture. He was varied and funny. The siblings who give the course are a well-rehearsed team and quickly loosen the mood. You prepare 5 coffees yourself and at the end you are allowed to take the recipes and a coffee filter.
We can only recommend the course to anyone.

A fabulous introduction to Vietnamese coffee-making culture, with hands-on instructions (and subsequent sampling!) of Vietnamese egg coffee, salt coffee, coconut and “happy white”and of course the “regular” black or (condensed) milk coffee. Điệp vu will teach you all you need to know, treating you to his version of the latest pop songs to top it off.

This class is great. The teacher is enthusiastic and knowledgable, and we were glad to learn some traditional Vietnamese rituals around tea and coffee culture. We learnt how to make 4 different coffees and got to enjoy them all. It was a wonderful experience, but you do leave feeling quite sick after 4 coffees! Would drink half the cups if I had to do it again.

My husband and I loved this experience. We are from Australia and both love our coffee at home but the Vietnamese coffee has been next level.
We decided to do this tour so we could find out more about the culture of coffee drinking in Vietnam but also so we could try and reproduce the 5 different styles of coffee at home.
The family that run the business and take the class are delightful. They share all their coffee making knowledge and their home blend is so delicious. My favourite is the salted coffee and my husband’s is the coconut coffee. We left slightly wired on 5 cups of strong coffee and returned a couple of days later to purchase some extra coffee making equipment.
Fantastic experience.

This was one of the best classes we took in Hoi An. You learn about the history of the Vietnamese coffee, how to make it and then use it to make 5 different types of coffee. The host was interactive, funny and had plenty of jokes to share. The coffee was also very delicious ! Recommend to go in the morning because the coffee buzz is real!
Highly recommended and the price is right!!

To be honest i was not interested in doing this tour. I'm a 2 shot espresso guy and i don't waver from it very often. My sister dragged me to this begrudgingly. But if you want to have a great time book this activity. It so exceeded my expectation, and we had such a good time. The guy running the class was so funny making us all laugh. But be prepared he will start singing at some stage which we kindly advised him to stick to making coffee. Never in my life would i have thought i would drink egg coffee? sound discussing right? it was delicious!!

A basic coffee-making class. You will get an overview and trial of the making of 5 Vietnamese coffee - consider if you want to know what cafes put in your coffee. Opportunity to meet other travellers if you're solo travelling. Fair value for the price.

Hi. We are a family of 4 with 2 children aged 11 and 14. We are really keen to do this class and was wondering if you would substitute the coffee for chocolate or other options for the children?
