About
PROGRAM : Minimum : 2 Pax
8:00a.m : Pick you up at Hotel in Hoi An
Our first stop is Thanh Ha Pottery Village where we will visit a family that has been living in the same house for 3 generations and learn how to make pottery with them.
After crossing a typical Vietnamese rural bridge, which has stunning views of the surrounding areas, our next stop is at another family business where they specialize in making sleeping mats from reeds. Sleeping mats were a household essential for every Vietnamese family, especially during 20th century. Sadly, there are not many mat makers left like these any longer, as people are switching to other kinds of business to enable them to earn a better living. Whilst we are here, you can challenge yourself and try making one
see how they make rice paper and noodles. then continue on to another village where the amazingly talented and skilful local people make wooden fishing boats and wood and lacquer carvings.

About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Wander309629764940 contributionsKnowledgeable Guide, Beautiful Ruins, and Unforgettable ExperienceWe had Mr. Ken all to ourselves on our tour to My Son and he was very knowledgeable regarding archeological information about the site and the countries/teams that are working alongside Vietnam to restore the historical sites as much as possible. Our tour started earlier in the day as to avoid the heat in the region and the larger crowds that come towards the afternoon. With this Mr Ken was able to spend more time going over each site in the area with us and it allowed us great pictures where we appear to be the only people on the site and many pictures of the few remaining temple decorative stoneworks. Mr. Ken enthusiastically shares his personal experience around the Vietnam War and has a broad knowledge about the various conflicts that took place in the region as well as the effects it has had on the ethnic people who lived here before, and on the land. Thanks again for the awesome experience!Written September 20, 2024

Her English was exceptional and was very knowledgeable on the history of the areas that we visited. She was very accommodating to our needs and gave awesome food and coffee recommendations. - GlobeTrotting6288080 contributionsAmazing Scenery & HistoryOur guide Ken was very knowledgeable on the history of Hoi An and the overall history of Vietnam. I can tell that he is very passionate about what he does because there was no question in regard to history that he couldn't answer. The highlight of the tour of course was the boat ride which was a nice sail along the river. Definitely recommend if you're in the local area.Written May 28, 2024

- James W0 contributionsAn enjoyable visit to Hoi-AnWe really enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide, Ms Chang, was very friendly and gave us an interesting, informative guide about the area and its history. Hoi An itself is a must-see when staying in Central Vietnam. It's very busy, but don't let that put you off. It's stunning, especially at night when the area lights up with all the lanterns. As well as seeing the sights and taking a boat ride on the river, there was plenty of time to visit the night market, have a sit-down meal in a local restaurant or as we did, sample the many different food choices from the local street-food vendors.Written May 2, 2024
- SueJim1260 contributionsExcellent company to organise your toursAndy at My Son Tours organised an afternoon / early evening walking tour of Hoi An and a visit to the Silk Village for us. We found Andy very easy to deal with and responsive to our needs. Hoi An is beautiful, but the day we visited was very crowded with larger group tours, spoiling it slightly. The Silk Village is well worth a visit, but you don't need a tour guide. It's a short taxi journey out of Hoi An, and as part of your entry fee, you get taken around by a guide from the village. It's not a village but a well-designed, modern, purpose-built facility to show how silk is made, from the silkworms to the finished product, and a shop where you can buy handmade silk clothes at very reasonable prices.Written April 26, 2024
- Go683068084240 contributionsGreat Hoi An Private TourThis is definitely the best way to see Hoi An. Our guide, Ms Vy, was friendly, helpful and informative. She showed us around the old town, with access to all key interest points included in the tour, and insightful commentary provided along the way. Being a private tour, we had some flexibility and easy access to activities like the river boat ride which Ms Vy timed to perfection. The pick and drop off from Da Nang was seamless and the car was modern and clean. A thoroughly enjoyable evening in Hoi An, I would definitely recommend this tour.Written April 18, 2024
