Hoi An…widely known for its Ancient Town where the lantern festivals, ‘bespoke’ tailoring, leather goods and shoe making, street food, markets (and the Mr Bean Bar) etc etc all culminate in a tourist mecca…this tour provides an escape unlocking some hidden gems off the beaten track!
Fun for the whole family, riding well serviced mtb’s from a central Hoi An meeting point through nearby rural villages, rice fields, and water coconut groves with a number of stops in between, the entire ride is just over 20kms.
Cultural insights are abundant with opportunities to participate in bed mat weaving and preparing traditional dishes, rice wine tasting, and the all important coffee stop.
Our guide for the day Quiang was excellent, keeping us all very safe navigating the Hoi An traffic and then through the country trails with no fuss. A keen eye, he spotted wild life like snakes, and giant snails…always stopping to let us take photos and chat with the locals.
Highly recommend this tour, a definite highlight of our time in Hoi An!

As a family of four with two children aged 11 & 13 we went on a half day tour of the countryside while staying in Hoi An. Professionally run, the bikes were great quality and our guide Sunny was fabulous and so knowledgeable. We would recommend this tour to anyone - even if you haven’t biked in years or are on the ‘unfit’ side as the pace was gentle and the terrain flat. We meet the most welcoming locals and got to experience authentic local life - absolutely highly recommend, worth every dollar and everyone in our whole family enjoyed the day.

The half day bike tour in the Hoi An countryside was fab. The bikes were easy to ride, and we felt safe once out of the town. We had frequent stops to visit various businesses, which was interesting and made it easy going. It was great to be out in the countryside and be away from the hustle and bustle of the town for a while. Our tour guide Van, was a delight. She was informative and knowledgeable about the area, and nothing was too much trouble. Than you Van, for a great morning 😊

We did a countryside cycling tour in Hoi An, Vietnam. 5 stars aren't enough! It was an incredible journey where we got to see the sights of the city and were welcomed in to locals homes to learn about them and their cultures - stories and memories that will last a lifetime!
The bikes were fantastic and our guide, Yen, was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Also shout out to Charles who was there from Grasshopper HQ sharing the experience with us - the two made the trip what it was.
A trip to Hoi An isn't complete without a Grasshopper tour and we can't wait to see your colleagues in another city! Thank you!!

This tour was easy paced and visited mainly interesting places. We especially enjoyed the experience because there was no one trying to sell us anything along the way nor at the included stops. Our bike guide had plenty of enthusiasm and knowledge. Would totally recommend this company and would not hesitate in booking with them again. The company was very professional from the time we booked, arrived at the shop, to the time we left. Finally the bikes were well maintained and in good working order. Thanks for the experience!

Genuinely my favourite tour in over two months of travelling - despite the fact much of the trip was during pouring rain!
Excellent tour guides (one on his first full day) accompanied our small group and enjoyed the sites sounds and tastes of the Hoi A countryside.
The cycling wasn’t overly challenging - almost all flat, total around 20km over 4-5 hours with just the right amount of interesting stops to make the trip so enjoyable!

Myself and 5 other college students did this tour together and it was amazing! Yen, our guide, is fantastic at english and so knowledgeable about everything. She was easy to connect to and goof off with. The biking part was beautiful and being able to go through a local village and stop in local homes was such a unique experience that I highly recommend. It will stick with me for a long time.

We LOVED our bike tour! We enjoyed meeting many of the local people and seeing their daily lives. We enjoyed some rice wine and delicious fruits. Van was an incredible guide. We HIGHLY recommend this experience to anyone visiting Hoi an. Ask for Van!

I visiting Hoi An just after the Lunar New Year with my friend and we booked this bike tour to explore outside of the Old Town. The tour was great and we covered a lot of kms. The tour guides spoke English at an advanced level and were actually very funny and relatable. All stops on the tour were great. Guides were knowledgeable and the local people we met were hospitable and very generous. I appreciate them allowing us the opportunity to see their homes, temples and Banh Dap workshops.
The only suggestion I have is perhaps there can more stops to along the country bike paths/bridges to take more photos. I felt there were many great photos I could have taken but did not get the opportunity as frequently as I would have liked. The pace we biked was fast. I am in shape so it wasn't a problem. Perhaps the Boat building stop could have been skipped? If one stop is removed then maybe we wouldn't have to bike so fast?
The only suggestion I have is perhaps there can more stops to along the country bike paths/bridges to take more photos. We are visiting in Aug, this sounds amazing- I’m just checking it’s suitable for boys aged 11 & 13 with two adults.They’re pretty athletic & can work on road sense on the run up to it, if needed?

Yes - the guides will go at your pace and the route is mostly off main roads and flat.
