- R5419YWbenb0 contributionsGreat way to experience Vietnam's countrysideWe did the full day "Real Vietnam" Tour as a family with Dang and Joe in early October. We opted for the ferry rather than the morning boat ride which made total ride a bit longer at about 30km. The ride was basically on flat traffic free roads and paths and the route took us through interesting villages and vistas. Though it is not a challenging ride, it was probably a bit much for my 10 year old (though fine for my wife, 13 year old daughter and I, particularly as we had a cooler day). Dang and Joe were great guides and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The designated stops on route like the mat weaving and basket boat were well considered and provided lots of photo opportunities. I would definitely recommend Heaven and Earth Tours, though the 9km route (Traditional Countryside) is probably better if younger children are in the group or it is a particularly hot day. Thanks again guys! Ben & familyWritten October 14, 2024
- mariatJ1297RB0 contributionsUnmissable experienceWe had the best experience with Tram on our cycle tour. She is a ray of sunshine and made the day so much fun for us all. We were fascinated by lots of local crafts and it was great for our teenagers to have a go at mat making. Trying to row a bamboo boat with ‘Sexy Lady’ was hilarious. Lunch was utterly delicious and Tram was incredibly informative and attentive keeping us hydrated and cool with iced water all day long. The cycling was easy and the scenery breathtakingly beautiful. We are still living off the memories. Thank you Tram.Written October 5, 2024

Our tour guide, Na, was out of this world—knowledgeable, friendly, and truly made the tour special. We explored the picturesque countryside and a local village, meeting the kindest locals along the way. The tour was scenic and full of lovely experiences, from stunning views to tasting amazing local food. It was a perfect mix of adventure and culture, and we’ll cherish the memories forever. - 145timh0 contributionsGood value and interesting biking tourWe had a great time cycling through local farming area, including rice fields, incorporating two ferry trips across the river and between islands. The stops at wood works, coconut boat and mat making were interesting and fun, and lunch was really tasty authentic local food. Guides were very informative, friendly and enthusiastic. Good value and well worth doing this gentle cycling trip through the local country side.Written September 12, 2024

It was easy cycling, and we got to experience the lovely countryside, and learn lots about the cottage industries still going on. Lunch was delicious and we enjoyed the weaving demonstration. - Mijos120 contributionsCycle to My Son templeAmazing experience 🤩! We did the bike tour to the My Son temple complex, with our family (2 adults & a 9 year old) and we absolutely loved it. It was well worth getting up early to get the temple complex at a quiet time. Our lovely guide Tram was so knowledgeable and told us lots about the history and also some interesting plants/herbs along the way. The cycle back was a great way to see the country and Tram was great company. We loved the meal, really yummy. The last leg in the boat was a great way to finish the tour. All in all a great experience and would fully recommend it!Written September 5, 2024

If you can ride a bike somehow you can join the tour. You won’t find these places we passed on your own. Definitely I will join a tour again coming back to Hoi An. I booked on get your guide but they haven‘t published my longer review for example about our gathering with the sexy lady… Go and experience you will collect many pictures to remember.Written August 31, 2024

Lola and Kim gave us a brilliant tour of the islands, showing us weaving, making rice wine , boat making and marquetry. The cycling was really good fun and it was an amazing opportunity to see a glimpse of rural Vietnam. Highly recommended.

This is an outstanding tour that is amazing value for money. It is not about cycling but more about getting out of the city and finding out a little bit about local life. Lin our tour guide was incredibly good, if I owned a travel company, I would be trying to employ her! She was a pleasure to spend the afternoon with, she clearly loved sharing her local knowledge but also asked us questions and was interested in different ideas and thoughts. The tour was effortless from start to finish, the organisation was excellent and the stops varied and interesting. Incredibly good value for money. I cannot recommend this strongly enough. Don’t hesitate- book it.

Great orientation on what to expect. Guides had great English and were able to explain everything that we were seeing. Taken on a boat ride for 45 mins to the island off of Hoi An and the biked approx 9km and then took a short 10 min boat ride back to Hoi An. We saw local people preparing for lunar new year. Families making traditional sleeping mats. Traditional houses. How the round woven baskets boats are made (and had a short demo and ride in one). Then onto a rice field where the guides explained how the crops are produced and looked after.
Had a great afternoon with this company. Would defo do it again.
Thanks guys.

One of the best experiences we had on our trip to Vietnam. We took the afternoon tour departing from downtown Hoi An, our guide was the amazing Lola. During the bike tour we made several visits to artisans who gave us an authentic, non-tourist experience. Cycling through the countryside, among the rice paddies at sunset will be an unforgettable memory. If you are passing through Hoi An, don't miss it.

We booked a cycling tour in the hope of seeing a bit of rural life in the villages and it didn't disappoint.
Tram & Cuong were our guides and they were fabulous, always making sure that everyone was ok. After cycling for a few minutes we arrived at the harbour and our awaiting boat to take us to an island. We cycled around 9km in total stopping at a woven mat producer's whilst hard at work, a rice wine producer with tastings, (of course), we met sexy lady who showed us how to ride a conical boat and stopped at a wood carvers who made pictures inlaid with shells and pearls. Tram & Cuong explained everything to us and gave us lots of opportunities to stop for photos.
If you want to see the countryside of Hoi An this is definitely how to do it, highly recommended.
Keep up the good work and if we ever get back to Hoi An we'll be sure to pop in and join you for another tour xxx

My wife, adult son, and I took the afternoon countryside tour with Diem as our guide in late February. First of all, Diem was a fantastic guide. She added a lot of insight to sites, was very easy to understand, and was very witty.
The tour itself was very good. Several interesting stops and the 5 hours flew by. We tried some rice wine and basket boats, and saw local artisans making sleeping mats and mother-of-pearl objects. We had an opportunity to purchase some simple snacks and drinks. Whenever we had an option to purchase something, there was absolutely no pressure or hard sell (unlike some tours in other countries that we have taken).

The ladies at Heaven and Earth Cycling Tours were wonderful throughout. The tour consists of a 40-minute boat ride to a neighboring island and then cycling within two islands to see how the local people live and earn a living. Our on-island tour guide, Lola, was funny, smart, and a joy to be around. She peppered her talks with jokes and her great sense of humor. My husband and I were grateful for the opportunity to see a side of the Hoi An area not defined by consumer tourism. We highly recommend this tour!

Had an amazing time on the afternoon bike tour from Hoi An. Lola and Tanh were amazing guides, mixing humour with great knowledge. They made the trip so much more enjoyable and it wouldn’t have been the same without them! It was the perfect amount of biking and we saw beautiful Vietnamese crafting and postcard-perfect scenery. 10/10 would recommend to anyone staying in Hoi A who wants to retreat from all the tourists!

Tai was a very friendly tour guide. Starting in Hoi An old quarter, then into the “rural” areas gave a better understanding of the reality of the way a lot of Vietnamese live. Cycling was easy (although having not ridden a bike for about ten years I’m sure some parts of my body will be feeling it tomorrow 😂) . Tai was happy to explain things or stop for photo opp. the bamboo basket boat was good but in the knowledge that there is an implied expectation to provide a small tip for the entertainment (which is fine). We had dinner, cooked by a local family, rather than a restaurant, food was great and it was a nice touch to help out a family had their family income eliminated during covid tourism lockdowns etc. A very enjoyable arvo

We joined a group trip with only 2 other people and they provided a guide and assistant. Throughout the tour these 2 guides were like a mini double act with lots of laughs. The pace was easy and they brought extra ice cold water to top up your bottles. The places visited were interesting but not too long. The bikes were in good condition and the whole trip was great. Would highly recommend even if the weather is hot.

Do you have bikes suitable for someone who is 6ft 1”? We rode bikes the other day and they were too small, which was not comfortable for him!
Written August 11, 2019
I'm just over 6ft and the bike I had was fine. They have a variety of sizes which should suit most people. Not perfect but absolutely suitable for the cycling that you'll cover.

I can cycle but my wfe does not know how to. Any arrangments for her during the cycling session? 2 seater bicycle?
