Amazing, once in a life time. Tour guide made it worth it even more. Everything was grt, the trekking, gorilla
We just wrapped up four days in Rwanda and Uganda and had one of most amazing experiences doing the gorilla trekking etc. I had a great experience with Fred(owner) helping me plan the four days and then Ronald who was an amazing guide/driver for the entire trip. People need to visit Rwanda and Uganda. The hotels were great and Frena’s price are very good. It was so smooth managing everything from dallas,tx. Strongly recommend to anyone who wants to see Rwanda and Uganda. Gorilla trekking in bwindi forest is one in a lifetime adventure

GERALD WAS AWESOME! Great time in Rwanda and Uganda to see the gorillas and golden monkeys
Sister and I took the 3 day Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Golden Monkeys tour with Frena Adventures in early August. Booking was seamless with Fred providing the information promptly and answering questions.  Online payment through Pesapal (note: 5% processing fee) for the deposit, the remainder in cash on arrival. Our tour guide Gerlad was awesome! Knowledgible about the locations we drove by and stopped at good vantage points to take photos.   The day we went to see the gorillas, we were up just before sunrise and crow of the rooster and it was beautiful. Thank you to the team at Trekkers Tavern Cottages with a shoutout to Sheila for making us feel comfortable and well looked after! Seeing the gorillas in real life literally meters away from you was an exhilarating experience. We were put in the team tracking the Kyaguriro troupe (led by the Silverback of the same name). Hid name means 'picky/selective' (we think) as he is known to be very selective with the females he invites into his troupe. He is also notoriously shy! Which is why it was a surprise that we came across the trackers only 20 or so minutes from the road. They weren't wrong about his shyness but we were lucky enough to see all 8 members of the troupe including a baby which was so cute! Thank you to the guides/park rangers, guards and trackers who all did an amazing job to answer our questions and keep both us and the gorillas safe. Fun fact: We also wore face masks while seeing the gorillas as they are also susceptible to human diseases. This is due to how similar our genetics are. If you ever have the opportunity to do this by all means it's a once in a lifetime experience and I highly recommend it to all. We saw families with kids up to retirees so no is left out. They also provide a service wherein individuals with limited mobility can be carried to and from the gorilla sites for a fee. Just please hire a porter if you cannot hold your things. It gives the locals a job, gives their families money and makes your trek a lot more comfortable and enjoyable. That bottle of water and camera gets mighty heavy if you are not use to the altitude (we are from Australia) and you have to go back up the mountain at the end of it. For the second night we stayed at the Le  Bambou Gorilla Lodge.  The staff were incredibly attentive, friwnsly and always had a smile.  The accomodation itself was clean and well presented.  Although the wifi could only be accessed in the main building the three seating areas with their individual fire places (set up by staff at your request) made the whole experience warm and welcoming.  They also had a bar from which they offered some wine, whisky, etc which was brought over to us while chatting around the fireplace.  There were also some dancers that came by to perform cultural music and dance which was lovely.  Waterbottles were also put in our beds and the fireplace in our room lit before we arrived after dinner as the night was a bit chilly.  It was a wondeful experience from start to finish.  Also the pineapple juice on arrival was beautiful! The third day with the golden monkeys was also very nice. The guides will take you to the large family of monkeys. Also need a mask for this. They were very cute and they do get very close. Mind the tails and dont dont get bwtween them am food, lest they bite (but mainly mind the tails). It was lovely and sunny when we went, so their backs were brightly glistening. Highly recommend. Gerald also offered to swing by the Dianna  Fossey Centre where we learned more about the gorillas and the different families in the Bwindi Impenetrable forest before dropping us back to our hotel in Kigali.

We would definitely do the trip again :)
We went for 3 days, gorilla + golden monkey trekking in Uganda/Rwanda and we had amazing time. Organizing the trip, Fred is short to answer but to the point and all our wishes were included in the final trip. The guide we had - Frank - is experienced and knowledgeable guide and a very friendly and kind person. Trekkings were amazing! Places we stayed at were really nice too. We would definitely do the trip again :)

    Awesome experience
We booked the 4 day Ruanda-Uganda with Gorilla trekking and Queen Elizabeth NP, that was perfectly scheduled for us (me and my daughter), Thanks to fluent communication with Fred, that answered all my questions and inquieres on time. But the utmost part was our guide Champion, a 5 star guy who really made us the trip, his knowledge and experience about animaos and the land and also his friendliness. We enjoyed our time being with him and also of course, the amazing animals we saw, which he always knew where and what to look at!

Frena soured our hard earned vacation!
Fred and Eddie have managed to sour our hard earned trip to Rwanda and Uganda. I booked the 5 day mid-range itinerary with Frena. I sent our tickets to Fred as soon as i booked it (a month ahead of our trip), he ignored our flight time and added chimp tracking, which we only got to know, was never possible after meeting Eddie, the tour guide. He refunded the money but was so vague and indirect and not apologetic about this and rudely told me to research pricing of the chimp tracking. The car was a very uncomfortable van, making the long drives uncomfortable and unsafe! the front seat snapped back multiple times on my husband’s feet. Eddie never apologized, never did anything about it. Even the roof that was propped up for the game safari, came slamming down and thankfully we werent standing at that time, all because he forgot to engage the safety lock and again, never apologized. Eddie had no interest in communicating the plan of the day, change in plans, any delays etc, we just had to figure it out. Day 2, i asked him about lunch enroute and he told me we will have late lunch at the lodge, we reached at 5pm, and due to his communication mishap, they had not prepared lunch. All he said was “why dont you have an early dinner by 6?” No apologies again. The last day, he made us leave our lodge at 6:30 for a 6 hour drive, reaching the airport 5 hours before our flight (im sure he knew they dont even let you in) under the pretense that we may get traffic, when he actually wanted to get to Kampala sooner. The two countries and their people were amazing, just wished we had booked a better agency who cared about their customers just enough to make our holiday a memorable one.

    Chimp-tracking in Rwanda
I went on a chimpanzee tracking trip to Nyungwe Forest in Rwanda- everything worked out great: the price was good, the driver/guide was excellent, and communication was easy. I highly recommend Frena adventures for anything in Uganda and beyond!

    Awesome tour through paradise!
My tour was amazing! Fred was very responsive and helpful throughout out the booking process, he added excursions to the tours and helped us organise a tour that fit our schedule. On the day of our pick up we met our guide Frank, who is just the best to put it simply. His knowledge of the area, history and animals was incredible. We stayed in lodges and the accommodation was spectacular. Overall this tour was great value for money and highly recommended, we loved every minute of it and was so disappointed when it was over! Ask for Frank, he is the best tour guide there is!

    Fantastic tour
The tour was amazing! We have 7 days guided tour with Frena Adventures. We saw the gorillas in Bwindi. We saw lions eating buffalo in queen Elizabeth National park. I waked up one day with a hippo lying next to my window. It was fantastic experience. I have to mention that our driver Ronald did a great job. He is not only a good driver, but also a very knowledgeable guide. He know how to find the animals. He answered all the questions we had about everything. He is friendly, funny and honest. I am very happy to have him with us for 7 days. I would like to highly recommend Frena Adventures.

amazing tour in Uganda and Rwanda
Our 7 day tour included Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth NP and Akagera NP. It was just wonderful! We saw gorillas from close distance and in the open (staying close to a huge silverback felt very special), lions devouring a buffalo, plenty of hippos (one eating grass next to our bungalow), chimps, baboons etc. Our driver Ronald did a great job by showing us animals and cultural things and explaining stuff. He is such a friendly, intelligent, funny guy, and it was great to have him around. He became a friend in these 7 days. Thank you Ronald for everything! This tour was one of the cheapest I could find, but it turned out to be high quality. The car was very comfortable, hotels were more than decent (some felt luxurious), and the planning was great. Ronald is very reliable and knowledgable, and we never felt that he was trying to save money on our tour and experiences. I would definitely recommend Frena Adventures.

    Highly Recommend
The Gorilla trek tour was one of the best experiences of my life. I loved every minute and Frena and Ronald (guide) made sure everything went perfectly. I would rate this tour best on relatability, professionalism and value for money. My guide Ronald was the best person I could have with me on this experience. Ronald was more than a tour guide he was a friend who I laughed and had fun with. I will definitely book again with Frena and Ronald for any future experience.

    Ronald was an excellent driver
We had such a great experience with Frena Adventures. Fred set us up with our driver Ronald who was awesome. He picked us up from Kigali airport, drove us to Volcanoes National Park and Lake Kivu, then back to Kigali during our 4 day trip. He made the trip so much easier and carefree. Thank you!

Frena Adventures made this the holiday of a lifetime!
An amazing experience from start to finish! From the gorillas in Bwindi to the elephants in Queen Elizabeth National Park and Akagera. I went for 5 days as a solo traveller and Fred was very helpful with preparing the itinerary and answering my questions. I selected the mid-range option as it was not much more expensive than the budget option. The accommodation in all locations was simply stunning with breath-taking views and full of character. I was met by my guide Apollo at Kigali Airport and immediately felt more at ease. He was extremely knowledgeable about Rwanda, Uganda and the wildlife that we saw. He was also very kind and made sure I had enough water and got to the locations with time to spare (if he offers you Ugandan coffee take it as it is the best I’ve tasted!). Everything went very smoothly from start to finish and I was very sorry when I went home. If you’re thinking about visiting Africa then I whole-heartedly recommend visiting Uganda as it is a wildlife lover’s dream and the people of Uganda and Rwanda were all so friendly and welcoming. The gorilla trek in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest was the greatest thing I have ever done. My sincere thanks again to Fred and Apollo for making this holiday something I will remember fondly for the rest of my life.

    Budget gorilla safari
Great value for money - we had great communication through from the team at Frena leading up to the safari and were quick to respond to any questions They were very flexible to change the itinerary short notice when we wanted to fly instead of drive and our Tour guide Andrew was waiting for us at the airport. We had the delight of having a Toyota Land Cruiser as our tour vehicle which was extremely comfortable through the long drives.it was also equipped with a pop up roof for wildlife viewing and plenty of water was available. Andrew was a great tour guide , friendly and very knowledgable about all wildlife. We went for the budget gorilla safari of 3 nights with mid range accommodation. The tour was well organised and all the accommodations offered amazing views as-well as great food and a packed lunch for the following day. The only complaint is we wished we had more time to fully enjoy Uganda as a whole. Despite the tour being jam packed it didn’t fell rushed and offered great Value for money. Don’t hesitate to book !

    Fantastic beauty of East Africa
We selected Frena Adventures for Rwanda and Uganda trip. We communicate with several companies but decided to stay with Frena and was very happy about this. It was all good experience from making program of our trip, customizing and optimizing. Our guide/driver was always in time and showed very good knowledge of area and Uganda in particular. He was really good in helping to select best spot for photos. All of these factors helped to open fantastic beauty of East Africa.

Frena were fantastic from start to finish. It was super easy to organise our trip and they always went the extra mile to help.

Our driver Roland was brilliant. He was always prompt, kind, helpful, funny, informative and looked out for us. I would definitely suggest asking for him specifically!

We often organise all the travel ourselves, but I'm so glad we went with Frena for Uganda. We wouldn't have seen nearly as much and it would have been really difficult to organise some of it.

We had a fantastic time in Uganda with our driver Ronnie, the gorilla trekking in Bwindi was just incredible, it was a real adventure and seeing the gorillas was such an touching experience. We then visited Kalinzu and saw chimps, colobus and blue and red tail monkeys, the forest is really beautiful. Finally we visited the Queen Elisabeth NP, and we saw so many animals, lions included!
Ronnie and Frenadventure were very honest and serious, I have no complains and I'm glad we chose it.
Overall I was really happy with the tour, and highly recommend it to anyone!

We flew from Nairobi to Rwanda and drove across to Uganda which was scenic and beautiful. We really enjoyed the whole experience, we were well-looked after and everything went smoothly with the transit across Rwanda and passing into Uganda. Our driver was attentive and followed the itinerary as planned. Do make sure you take plenty of Ugandan shillings (UGX) for all the tipping you are expected to do and if you want to buy drinks at the hotels (our hotels said they didn’t take cards!). As we were coming from living in Nairobi, we had thought we could withdraw UGX from the Kigali airport ATM (as one guide book had said) but alas no, so we ended up borrowing shillings from our guide which was awkward and wouldn’t have been necessary if we had been able to stop at one of the Ugandan ATMs en route. The trekking itself was excellent and the guides/trackers very professional. Do take a face mask which is required when you approach the gorillas, and some lightweight gloves for protection as the bushes are thorny in the forest, although you can buy these for a couple of dollars each at the starting point. We got extremely close to a whole troop and will take away memories to cherish. Thank you!
