8 Days round trip - incl. Safaris - with Lulu Safaris, guided by Audence.
8 Day Round Trip - Safari with LuLu safaris, guided by Audence. I can absolutely recommend this company and our Guide Audiance. My family and I decided for lulu safaris because the planning, the price, the tour and the expectations in conjunction with our tour guide were a trip of our lifetime. Most importantly, my family felt safe on this tour, even if we didn't have high class accommodations or poor organization - Thanks Lulu Safari with Audence for this. Our Guide Audence tried very hard to show us everything that was included on our tour. He showed us the Big 5, which was an absolute experience. We were picked up in Entebbe, went straight to Rhino Park and the next days we continued to Murchsion Falls National Park. All the animals were shown to us – incredible The waterfall in Murchison Falls National Park and the boat tour on the Nile were absolutely exciting. The roadtrip to Queen Elisabeth were funny because my two daughters and Audence are on the same level. It was never boring and there was always something new to see We stopped, bought pineapples, bananas, water or whatever was missing was organized by our guide. Queen Elisabeth Park is also highly recommended, of course you can't generally have such parks to yourself. We decided to stay in the bush the hole day and that was the game changer because our guide found for us a herd of lions – wow Jackpot The elephants, hippos and crocodiles at the Kazinga Channel were so impressive We also went to Lake Mburo, where we went to the game drive again and walked through the Park because there are no lions there. You can see so many differant animals, Monkeys, Birds Hippos, and and and.... I could write for hours, but the impressions, the fun, the tears when saying goodbye to Audence cannot be written down as it was emotionally. This trip was a complete success and I want to come back to see the beautiful Uganda again Many thanks to Lulu Safaries for this tour and I highly recommend it. Get in contact there so you can put together a tour that fits with your budget. Ralf with Family

DO NOT TOUR WITH THIS COMPANY. TERRIBLE TOUR!
I would first like to say that this was the worst tour company I could have ever taken. The tour guide Audence picked me up and off the bat had an attitude. He didn’t introduce himself, or seem Enthusiastic at all, as I expect a tour guide to be. The tour Company Lies on the itinerary, I was supposed to do a few things that I didn’t get to do on the first day because Audence who was the tour guide thought that it wouldn’t work for him. In turn I didn’t get to do one activity towards the end, and other activities felt rushed because they weren’t done on the first day. I mentioned this issue to Elvis, who is the owner of the Company but nothing seemed to have changed for the rest of the trip. The tour guide was not informative on any Of the important sites we visited. He didn’t provide any information, only just pointed out the “names” of them. As we went to these historic sites, I had to google most information. In addition to this, the company and the owner failed to mention that none of the accommodations provided had air conditioning or a fan. I mentioned this to Elvis and he acted as if he didn’t know, but when I asked the hotel they informed me that this has always been the case for that specific hotel. As we were driving throughout Uganda and Rwanda, I asked Audence many times about stopping to get something to eat, but we drove non stop from place to place. This tour was a dreadful experience. Having to deal with a guide who had an attitude, and is uninformative shouldn’t be a guide at all. The company lies and should not even be taking any customers. From the lies, to the unprofessionalism this was by far one of my worst experiences traveling 7 countries in Africa. Uganda and Rwanda are both beautiful countries, but I urge you to choose another tour operator with more reviews than this company has.

      competent, professional and passionate!
King Charles, simply the best! We couldn't have wished for better. We (couple, mid 30) were on a customized tour (11days/10nights) end of January 2024, starting from Kigali (Rwanda) ending in Entebbe (Uganda). From the very first sight our guide Charles gave us a very good impression. Coming from tourism industry myself, I know that the first impression is half the battle. Slowly we started to discover the amazing country (Uganda) and Charles’s virtues and qualities. As he studied geography, he has a very high level of expertise when it comes to fauna and flora, but also has a huge knowledge about climate zones, mountains, agriculture, culture and also about politics of his country. One of his passions are birds, and no one can beat him there. Charles is a friendly, humorous, and talkative person who is highly appreciated by his clients and also by all his colleagues from other TO. He knows how to command respect, has great assertiveness is very resilient, patient and always on time. He loves his job and does it with passion. Charles definitely stands out of the crowd. Before getting to Uganda, reading reviews about safety on the road, we were a little worried. Fortunately, Charles is an excellent driver, so we never had to experience fear. Even when we got stuck in heavy mud, he managed to get us out on his own. The Landcruiser we used was very comfortable, always clean, had binoculars and also books about Ugandan wildlife. With the accommodation we were also very happy, in my opinion some of them were worth much more. The rooms were clean and spacious, staff was friendly and the food everywhere good or even excellent. The only negative was the laundry service at Chimpanzee Forest Lodge where we got back our clothes in xxs, with stains and all in pink, without price reduction for the washing or apology from staff. What we liked the most, was the transparent communication and his attention to details. We always knew what to expect from the next day/s as we sat down together every evening to speak about issues, desires, and other needs. If there was a problem with something he spoke with us and gave us at least one alternative. We always knew what was going on, he told us a lot about what we saw and was always able to answer all our questions. He took great care of us, asking about toilets or food stops and even if we were on short time, he made us happy, by giving us more time. Almost from beginning we developed kind of telepathy, he always knew where we wanted to stop without communication. Thanks to Charles we could make this amazing experience not only from the sight of a tourist but also from the sigh of a “local”. You enriched us greatly with your knowledge, but above all with your personal life stories, which were only possible thanks to the friendship and trust you gave us. Thanks also to Elvis with who we organized the trip. Only advice I can give you, is to provide more information once the client has made the payment. As at some point I was doubting about the whole trip. Fortunately, then we had an informative video call and everything went perfect.

A local experience and the path less tracked
We have been on many tours but this was a trip of a lifetime and what made it even more special was our tour guide Smith. He went above and beyond what was on the tour agenda and gave us a proper local experience of life in Uganda, dancing and singing with local communities was such an amazing experience. He made our experience do memorable and would always go the extra mile. He is an extremely friendly guy with lots of connections and helped us get on a gorilla trek with less people so we could have a better experience on the trek. The accommodation and lodges booked by Lulu Safaris was beyond our expectations. Every lodge we stayed in had it's own unique experience from staying in lodges in the forest from staying in rooms with amazing views of the lake. We highly recommend booking a trip with Smith and Lulu Safaris and you will create memories to last a lifetime.

      Great trip in Uganda
I had an amazing four days in Uganda with my guide, Otis. From start to finish the trip was incredible. The highlights were gorilla and chimp trekking, but my safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park was great too.

Once in a lifetime safari with Audence and Simon to see the big 6 (see review), Rhino, Chimpanzee and Gorilla trekking
8 Day Safari with LuLu safaris, guided by Audence and Simon. Firstly our guides were incredible. I would definitely recommend requesting them in advance if you book with LuLu safaris. They were amazing at spotting wildlife, really easy to get along with and we hope to remain friends (we still message now weeks after we came home), very knowledgeable about the wildlife and local customs, full of facts, happy positive people and extremely flexible changing the plan where a better option was available or if requests or needed for any reason at all. We started out tour with the Ziwa rhino sanctuary and walked on foot to get a close encounter with 3 sets and a total of 12 rhinos. We were blown away that we did this on foot and got so close. On the same day we went up to Murchison falls national park and saw the waterfalls and river at sunset. We got time the next day to take a river safari to see hippos and crocodiles. We then spent time at the national park and saw 4 of the big 5 and even had an evening encounter with hyenas. We didn’t think we could get and more lucky. After this we had time in queen elizabeth national park and saw all the big 5. Our guides going the extra mile with hours of driving to track one down. We also got up close and personal with two male lions and had our own private spot with them for about 10 minutes until another car turned up. After this we went chimpanzee trekking. After two attmepts and 10km of trekking we had only seen one or two chimps in the far distance and that was our time up. However the ranger wasn’t happy and arranged with the national park office and our guides to come back after lunch and try again. This was no problem for our amazing guides who changed the plan without a moments hesitation. And the next 4km trek we had the most amazing encounter with a group of chimpanzees that have been filmed on the BBC planet earth program. Again we felt so incredibly lucky. Off down south we went to the Bwindi impenetrable forest for our gorilla trekking. On the way we had another lake/river safari and had the most amazing time seeing beautiful birds, hippos and over 100 elephants coming and going. We just didn’t expect to see so many. We got to stop and relax watching them all drink, play and trumpet. On the day of the gorilla trek were allocated a group that started with an incredibly challenging hike. They look at the abilities and any requests people have made and assign the groups accordingly. Some had a long drive but short trek. We had no drive but a long trek with a big elevation change. However it was really worth it. We had just over an hour with a group that included a tree felling silver back, two tiny babies and a female that strolled past and brushed against the leg of my partner. We just couldn’t believe what we had experienced. Due to our flight times our guides changed some of itinerary to accommodate more safari experiences and actually get us to the airport on time. Changing accommodation to suit the day before, wanting to give us the best experience possible. They would answer all our questions, stop whenever we wanted to. Help us buy stuff from the locals and stop for all the amazing photos. Honestly they were incredible. On the drive to the airport their binocular vision spotted something in the distance. So they stopped, reversed and got the actual binoculars out to show us a distant bird. A very rare shoebill. It looked like something from the Jurassic period. Our guides told us we can now go home and tell everyone “we saw the big 6 in Uganda”. We did the entire time in a tourist 4WD van. If possible I would request to do it in the Land Cruiser as the roads are very bumpy. I’m not sure how Audence managed to drive along some of the roads it was a sight to be seen and felt…the African massage. Lucky to not have many biting flies at the time of year we were there but still take lots of bug spray as they are around. We are both vegetarian and have the rare bit of fish. We were amazed at how well catered they were for vegetarians. The food was honestly really good everywhere we went. One more recommendation would be to probably have a bit more time there. It was absolutely jam packed with amazing experiences and got better and better a day to relax and enjoy the scenery would have been nice. Visit Uganda and book LuLu with Audence and Simon as guides. You won’t be disappointed.

Lulu Safaris Gorilla Trek and More
What can I say about Lulu Safaris and my wonderful guide Smith: Truly some of the best days of my life creating amazing memories. From the beginning Lulu Safaris was extremely flexible on my last minute scheduling (3 days in advance). Smith, my guide, picked me up from my hotel and gave me a wonderful tour of Kigali before heading to the mountains. Smith catered to my every need, stopping to take pictures wherever I desired and answering every one of my questions. Smith is extremely knowledgeable about Rwanda and Uganda and his enthusiasm and humility is contagious. Every leg of the journey Smith had friends to make the experience even more enjoyable. Getting to learn about the culture and hang out with locals was so rewarding. Seeing the gorillas and golden monkeys so close and in such great numbers exceeded my expectations. Every lodge I stayed at was 5 star accommodation and service. I cannot recommend Lulu Safaris enough and I most certainly will be back for more adventures. Thank you so much Smith and Lulu Safaris for an unforgettable experience.

Dream honeymoon in the pearl of Africa
We cannot recommend Lulu safaris enough! Lorand was an excellent guide, knowledgeable about every animal, bird and plant we came across and eager to educate us during our 12 day tour. Lorand went above and beyond, ensuring every place we stayed /every activity we had booked were aware it was our honeymoon and to treat us especially well! We saw every animal we wished to see (again thanks to Lorand’s determination). We booked a mix of budget and mid-range accommodation. Every place was beautiful and unique with a commitment to making us feel most welcome and cared for. A personal highlight was a visit from a wild elephant at one of our hotels! With three 3-course meals a day included we were certainly well fed, and the food was always delicious. Our itinerary was well planned by Elvis before our arrival, we were able to make requests and amendments. We had some safety concerns before travelling, however Lulu safaris put our minds at ease and we were well cared for throughout our trip. We enjoyed mountain gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking, safaris in different types of terrain alongside community visits which allowed us to connect with Ugandans. Lorand was happy to share his knowledge of history and show his pride in his country. Uganda has so much to offer and Lulu safaris was able to showcase the best that Uganda has to offer. Anyone looking to experience the beauty of the natural world of East Africa should look no further.

      Great gorilla trekking experience
We had 4 days we Lulu Safari with Samuel as our guide and driver. Light Golden Monkey and adventurous Gorillas. Samuel was great. He was caring about us constantly. It was quite a difficult drive from Bwindi to Buyoni lake due to heavy rain, but he managed it perfectly. I definitely recommend them for your safari’s.

      Gorilla trekking in Uganda!
We absolutely loved our tour. Gorilla trekking had been on the bucket list for years and it was absolutely incredible! We had Audence and Simon as our guides and they were wonderful so joyful and upbeat adding so much to our trip. We drove from Kigali to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forrest and the drive there through Rwanda and Uganda’s country side was stunning. We also saw golden monkeys in volcanos national park which was great! Couldn’t recommend this tour more and it made us really want to come back and explore more of Uganda as we only had two days in the country- if you have more time I would recommend exploring more of Uganda!

      Amazing experience for solo traveler!
I am so grateful to Lulu Safaris for an amazing experience in Uganda and Rwanda! Coming from Costa Rica and as a solo female traveler, I was a little nervous about making this week-long trip to Uganda and Rwanda. But I really had nothing to worry about! From the very beginning, Elvis was easy to get in touch with, answering all my questions quickly and being patient with me as I finalized dates and made my final decision on traveling. I arrived in Kigali and they had someone waiting for me, and I was well taken care of until the moment they dropped me off at my hotel at the end of my tour. My tour guides, Audence and Simon (trainee), were both fantastic. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and open to sharing personal stories and answering all my questions. They were organized, always on time, and they knew their way around perfectly, using their strong connections to other guides, the hotels, the national parks, etc., to ensure the best experience for me at every moment. They were very sensitive to what I might need at every moment, and I felt very well taken care of 24/7. And of course, the places they took me were also fantastic! I absolutely loved gorilla trekking in Bwindi (Audence made it much better by checking with the rangers the night before and agreeing on meeting at an entrance to the park nearer to where my family of gorillas had last been seen the day before, so we found the gorillas early and spent a long time with them), I loved the game drive in Queen Elizabeth Game Drive Park, etc. All this said, it is important to go with an open mindset, ready for the unexpected. Things happen and plans change, and it is important to go with the flow. I found some of the changes in our itinerary ended up being some of the best parts of the trip. I can't recommend Lulu Safaris highly enough, and I hope to come back with my whole family sometime soon.

      It was worth being there!
Yes... being back in Europe we still want to go back to Uganda with its nice climate and exoticism... We understand that everyday life in this country is not as nice as it looks to tourists, but it is already in almost every tourist trip. The moments with Lulu Safari in Uganda were great..even despite the fact that I suddenly fell ill with a high temperature (advice-wear masks at airports)-Lulu Safaris reacted quickly and changed the route, arranging extra days of stay in other hotels... Already in the first days we saw almost all the big animals - rhinoceroses, giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, hippopotamuses, chimpanzees.. we were not lucky with the representatives of the cat family, but probably the break in illness stopped us.. we did not complete the whole program... About currency-it's take some time to understand UGX amount at USD or EUR, at the end of January 1 USD was approx. 3800 UGX, it's time for mathematic :) Thanks to the guide Samuel - a very responsive, knowledgeable and professional guide, apparently the whole team with Elvis Masiga at the head is like that! During the trip, everything went exactly, the accommodations are great, the food is even too great, the level of organization of the trip is much better than in some European countries... We plan to return to gorilla trekking, which we didn't do on this trip :) Oh Uganda, Land of Beauty!

      Incredible guides and activities
The guides Sam and Sarah were incredible! They were very kind and made sure I was always happy! Would recommend as a solo traveller. Food was good although only thing that was lacking was the accommodation and on the first day I was picked up 2 hours late from the airport. If was to do the trip again l’d book the lodges myself (especially the one in Rwanda) but the overall experience was great and would recommend!

      An amazing trip
Such a great time with Lulu Safaris! Audence was a great guide who worked tirelessly to make sure I had a good experience. Elvis put together a fast paced but excellent itinerary that ensured I was able to see as much as possible in what little time I had. Would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking to tour through Rwanda and Uganda.

If we put together an ultimate wish list before we went, we couldn’t have begun to imagine how much this would beat anything we could have wished for.

It all starts with the communication between ourselves and the Lulu Safaris team. Elvis answered every question and query thoughtfully and promptly, regardless of the day or time. He adjusted the plans and tailored them to meet our interests, which meant we included everything we hoped to (and more!)

Upon arrival in Rwanda, we were met by our guide for the duration of the trip, Charles. Wow, how lucky were we!

Warm, funny, helpful, knowledgable, there’s so much we could say about Charles, the King of safaris.
Charles was there every step of the way, helping us and listening to our interests and making it happen. Even though we definitely made him work very hard (day safari, night safari, and then repeat and repeat again) and there was little time for rest, he was always smiling and happy. Thank you Charles for enabling us to cram in everything we wanted. If you prefer a slower pace to us, this would most certainly be catered for too.

From an incredible gorilla trek where we came face to face, to a sleeping leopard right before us. With animals on the road as we drove, and beautiful sites during boat cruises. Walking safaris, golden monkey treking, chimpanzees and even reaching the equator point - we couldn’t have ever hoped for more.

Stunning views, wonderful lodges with the most incredible and friendly staff who became like friends, tasty food and a whole lot of photography.

We were fortunate to visit both Rwanda and Uganda on this trip. Both are beautiful places and we felt very welcome and safe. Most of our trip was in Uganda and we were so lucky to be able to explore the various landscapes and jewels that Uganda has to offer. Charles showed us these with pride which added even more to the experience.

Thank you and thank you again to Charles and the Lulu Safaris team for making this trip of a lifetime give us the goal of returning when we can.

Lulu Safaris is an amazing tour company. We are a group of 4 (2 couples) who did a 11 day tour with Lulu Safaris across Uganda. My friend and I planned an exhaustive itinerary and shared it with Elvis. He gave suggestions and various options w.r.t the order of game drives, night safari options, hotel/lodge recommendations, etc. The conversations with him over Whatsapp were very easy and it felt he understood our requirements really well. All communications were in English.

    Our itinerary:
Day 1: Start from Kampala at 7AM - Ziva Rhino sanctuary - Lunch - Murchison Top of the Falls - Stay at Heritage Safari Lodge
Day 2: Morning game drive - nile Boat ride - Stay at Heritage Safari Lodge
Day 3: Morning game drive - travel to kibale - Stay at Kibale Nature Camp

Quality of service: Our tour guide, Samuel is a wonderful human being. From the time he picked us up at the airport to the time he dropped us off at the airport, Samuel took great care of our group. He patiently answered all our questions (we asked a lot) and made sure we got food on time, restroom breaks, took care of our belongings at every stop and made sure our overall experience was first class. He provided a lot of information w.r.t game drives in Uganda and the various scenarios one could experience w.r.t animal encounters. Within a day or two, he understood our group dynamics and worked very well with all of us. He has more than a decade worth of experience and one could tell.
One of our members is a vegetarian and they ensured there were vegetarian options for every meal. They also planned a birthday surprise for my friend by coordinating with the hotel on that day.

Value for money: We compared quite a few tour operators before selecting Lulu. They were a nice balance between comfort, flexibility and cost effectiveness.

Though we saw a huge variety of animals and birds, I've added only a select few photos in this review. The parks in Uganda have a lot to offer.

Overall, Elvis and Samuel were proactive with timely updates on our requests during the trip. If you are booking with Lulu Safaris, ask for Samuel.
