Amazing 2 day Rwanda gorilla trek tour. From the organisation and communication during the tour booking to the pick up, accommodation, meals - everything was really exceptional. My guide Rober was amazing - attentive and organized. I would highly recommend Rwanda - amazing clean country and felt very safe being a solo female traveler - and highly recommend Robert and Sasougandasafari company. If I could give more than 5 stars I would !!!!

Best Africa Vacation "It won’t be the last time you hear from us!" Daniela and I planned to visit both South Africa and Rwanda for a two weeks vacation. We really enjoyed both tours(South Africa combined with Primates Trek tour in Rwanda - Gorillas, Chimpanzees and Golden Monkeys) – with respect to the route and the people. Both SasoUgandaSafaris and our safari guide were awesome, but I really have to give special praise to Vincent. He was a perfect Driver guide with excellent knowledge of the wildlife and primates in general! We could easily recognize that he's a well-researched/informed guide and had love for what he does. He always went the extra mile and we really appreciate his efforts and Saso as well. Therefore, I would ask to have him as our guide for our next UgandaTour for 2 weeks next December. Africa is now our next home and Uganda is on our bucket list for next year. I will highly recommend sasougandasafaris for the professionalism to my workmates and friends that these guys are a real deal for any one interested in visiting Rwanda and Uganda for safari trips or holidays.

We did a 9 day tour with Saso''Gorillatrips''Ugandasafaris and it was amazing! We arrived one day earlier but found our guide already at the Airport ready to pick us up. Saso'Gorillatrips'Ugandasafaris was super flexible, came and pick us up in the middle of the night from the airport and gave us a tour around Kampala the next day (was not included in the original plan, but we were early and had spare time). The rest of the trip was also an unforgettable experience! We did a gorilla trek, chimpanzees trek, game safari, cruise on the Nile,… everything went super smooth and Michael is a very knowledgeable guide so we learned a lot. We also need to mention that he is a very good and a safe driver! ;) roads and traffic in Uganda can be crazy but we felt safe in the car.

From beginning till end, I could not imagine this experience any better! Wilson was extremely accommodating and attentive to what I was looking for out of this trip. He lined me up with the absolute perfect guide for me and I got to see not just an incredible number of wildlife but also the Africa I’ve been wanting to see for so many years. WARNING! Please be very careful with this company. This is the biggest scam. The company is pro-active in responding, but they don’t deliver what they promise. We travelled with a group of 19 pax. We did not stay in the accommodation that we were promised. Once we arrived at the gorillas, we discovered Wilson of Saso did not buy any of our gorilla permits, which we paid him for in advance. We ended up having to pay USD 9100 locally in order to do the gorilla trekking anyway. This happend in November 2022. Even though he promised to give us our money back, we still haven’t got anything back.

We were able to customize the trip just for us. Arrangements went smoothly and our guide was amazing. The sites and people of Uganda are unforgettable. We selected the mid-priced accommodations and they were all quite nice except one and our agent took the feedback to adjust this for others. A great choice.

We did tour with Gorilla Trips/Saso Safaris (primate habituation, lion tracking, 8 days) and it was great. We had booked from Europe in order not to leave too much money with Western intermediaries and that worked perfectly well. Everything went as planned: we were greated at the airport, our guide (Chiza) was wonderful and everything proceeded smoothly. The main reason why we had chosen Saso was the habituation/tracking experience, which gives you much extra and quality time with the gorillas/chimps/lions; few other companies offer that. That may be because the manager, Mr Wilson, has worked as a guide for many years and knows how to make the most of Uganda as a result. Saso also accommodated our preferences when planning the safari, subject to a fair extra cost (one extra night to reduce the stress of travelling and have more time in the fascinating Crater Lake region; and one extra day climbing Mount Sabinhyo on the border with Rwanda/DRC; we can highly recommend both). In short: do not hesitate to do the same, either by booking directly with them when in Uganda or from overseas!

We had an excellent experience trekking Gorillas in Uganda with Saso Tours. Wilson was great to communicate with and was prompt with his responses to all my questions, months in advance of our trip all the way to the day we started! We started in Kigali where we were picked up by our excellent guide, Innocent, and then we drove to Uganda for 2 nights for Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Forest. We were then dropped off in Kigali again. Everything went smoothly, the transport was comfortable, the accommodation was great, and Saso were reliable and very competitive on pricing. We would highly recommend Saso Tours, Wilson and also our driver/guide (his name was Innocent) for the trip!

Had the 3 Day Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Volcanoes & Bwindi and it was very interesting to have a taste of the trekkings in both countries. The communication with Wilson was very good since the first day and he had all the patience to answer all of our questions and attend our special requests. We couldn’t appreciate more our driver guide, Bernard, who was super professional, efficient and kind. We haven’t used the accommodations suggested by the operator, since we’ve booked the hotels by ourselves online, so I can’t give a feedback on this topic. But the service was excellent. Thanks for everything!

Our trip was amazing! We felt we'd stepped right into a National Geographic documentary. Our driver, Juvenal, was very informative as he pointed out animals, and he provided cultural and historical background for many of the things we saw. He was an excellent driver. We visited three national parks: Akagera, Volcanoes, and Nyungwe. We saw SO MANY animals, including the Gorillas, Golden Monkeys, Chimpanzees, Colobus Monkeys. It was truly amazing. We stayed in accommodations from a bush camp (listening to lions and hyenas) to 5-star hotels. We should have brought hiking boots. These would have made the treks easier and less slippery.

We did a 14-day tour of Rwanda and Uganda and everything was handled professionally and diligently by Wilson This tour operator offered the best value for money out of all I had consulted at the time, although payment options, a couple of the lodging options, clarity on the itinerary and the jeep could have been improved. I’m sure if you work out the details with Wilson in advance, he will be understanding. As for the guides, traveling with Ahmed was like traveling with a friend- he tried to do his best to show us the beauty of his country, he is highly knowledgeable (the man taught himself French!), and he never tired of all my questions- the man is as patient and calm as you can get which matched well with a demanding traveler like myself. 1 of my children traveled separately with Michael and found him fantastic. Thank you for the memorable trip!

Original book was for March 2020. They kept my booking until 2022 and was just asked to pay for the expired gorilla certificate. Could not accept the offer because of the inflation since 2020. This is an exceptional service. The trip was excellent. Michael is a great guide. All lodges are great. All in all it was a very good trip with a very professional and easy going travel company. Would absolutely recommend Saso and would book again with them.

Saso was recommended by a colleague and they were amazing! We did a 3-day Murchison Falls Safari from Kampala with James as our guide. James was fantastic and was very knowledgable about local customs and the history of Uganda in addition to his excellent knowledge about the wildlife and land. He made sure our trip was special and we gained a greater appreciation of the culture and environment in Uganda and saw many different animals along the way. Booking our tour through Saso Safaris was easy and they took care of the logistics so we could focus on enjoying our trip. We were even able to extend the car rental by a day in order to see some other areas and have reliable transport to the airport. I highly recommend Saso Uganda Safaris for your tour bookings and look forward to another trip in the future, hopefully with James again!
