We had a fantastic 15-day (almost 3000 km) cultural trip from Trabzon to Gaziantep with Fatih and Overland Travel. There were many things to see, natural wonders, ancient cities, archeological sites and amazing museums. The people were kind friendly and helpful. We skirted the borders of Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran, and Syria on this trip. I can't thank Fatih enough for making this experience not only so wonderful, but also so easy. Communication during the planning stages was painless, he was very responsive to questions and flexible. He is very trustworthy. From airport pick up to drop-off, the tour was seamless. Hotel choices can be challenging in this region (limited infrastructure, a lot of smokers), but he chose what we felt to be the best and most convenient locations. We also had a home stay experience in Van where we were able to interact with the locals in a more personal way. Fatih is a very knowledgeable guide - not only with regard to architecture and history, but also the local culture. We felt very safe during the entire trip. There were many checkpoints especially in the border areas, but it did not bother us one bit. Special shout out to our driver, Recep - even though there was a language barrier, we thoroughly enjoyed his company. He was warm, funny and knew where to find the best food. The food that we ate on this trip was top-rate and mostly inexpensive. We highly recommend Fatih and Overland Travel and Tour of Eastern Turkey.

Fatih and Overland Tours was simply incredible. Due to time restraints we did a 6 day “highlights” trek of the Lycian Way, most days takes taking short transfers by car to a starting point then hiking from 3-6 hours each day. We left a lot of the decisions up to Fatih and that certainly did not disappoint. Not only is he an expert with route planning (he always knew which direction to go for the better route, which sections to avoid, etc.), he was incredibly knowledgeable about the history, mythology, and even local flora. He took the time to point out interesting things that we would have certainly missed if we attempted to hike the trail alone, which made it all the more worth it to have a guide. Even the pensions we stayed at and the restaurants we ate at were hand-picked by Fatih, and each one was different and charming in its own way. We really felt like we got the full Lycian Way experience. Fatih was also very attentive the entire trek, and often went out of his way to help other hikers we met along the trail. He seemed to us like a great ambassador for the trail, making sure everyone— not just us— had the best experience possible. We really can’t recommend Fatih enough and are so grateful for our experience.

Xanthos-Letoön-Patara-Patara beach tour: As an Ancient History university student, it was amazing. Firstly, Tolga (our guide) was funny, spoke impeccable English, and had a vast inventory of knowledge about the sites. He spoke so engagingly about the sites while keeping the information accessible to me as well as my family and girlfriend, who were less familiar with the content. In terms of the locations, they were so much better than I thought with alot still remaining for you to see. He spoke to us about Lycian language, showed us their tombs as well as early Christian basilicas. The sites all together had 3 intact amphitheaters, a bouletarion (parliament building), tombs, baths, the remains of three temples, as well as the reconstructed lighthouse of Nero (all of which you can go into while Tolga explains all the intricacies - except the lighthouse of Nero as it is still under construction). Moreover, not only did Tolga have impressive knowledge on the locations but also all the wildlife and animals that you see along the way. In addition to the historical aspect of the tour, you also eat food at a local restaurant, which was fantastic and affordable, while also finishing the day at one of the longest beaches in the Mediterranean for as long as you want. You would not be able to find a negative thing to say about the tour.

We had a fantastic day visiting Xanthos, Letoon and Patara to understand the history of these sites. The company helped set up the tour with little notice and were extremely helpful guiding us through ways to pay for it so we didn’t have to pay the exorbitant fees charged by the banks by drawing out cash. The minibus came on time and the guide, Tolga Kanik explained the events of the day and what was going to take place. He was unbelievably knowledgeable about the sites and answered all our questions plus general questions about Turkey and living there. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone who appreciates that personal touch when it comes to delivering a service, as this company delivers it on all levels.

We spent 16 days touring Eastern Turkey with Fatih and driver, Mujdat. We just could not have had such a great experience without them! They were able to access places that we could not or would not have the confidence to get into, especially as we are not Turkish speakers and there were very few situations where English or other European languages were spoken. Fatih was able to give us an insight into the cultural context of what we were seeing and tried very hard to impart as much knowledge as he could about places and people. What we particularly appreciated was that he was flexible and tailored the trip to our interests as he got to know us better. Mujdat was always calm and cheerful and a great guy to have on the trip with us even though we didn’t speak the same language. Very much recommended as is this spectacular part of Turkey!

Fatih from Overland Travel took us on a private tour of Saklikent Gorge and the Tlos ruins. He picked us up from our hotel early in the morning so we could be at the gorge before all the crowds turned up. The gorge was amazing and with Fatih's guidance we were able to walk for a few kms until the water level made it too difficult to keep going. (He also knew all the best spots for photos). After the gorge Fatih took us to the Tlos ruins with incredible setting and views. He showed us all the main sites - the castle, tombs, the baths etc - and explained in detail the history behind each. It was an extremely hot day and it was great to be able to choose what we wanted to do and see and at our own pace. At the end of the tour rather then taking us back the quickest way Fatih took us on the most scenic but winding route through the mountains above Oludeniz and even stopping at the lookout over Butterfly Valley. We had a truly enjoyable day and highly recommend Overland Travel Trekking.

Fatih organised a 25 day trekking and cultural tour for the four of us from Australia. Trekking was both in Cappadocia and along sections of the Lycian Way, starting in Antalya and finishing in Fethiye. It was an excellent holiday. Fatih, and our driver Mujdat, were organised, professional, flexible, fun, knowledgeable, kind and looked after us fantastically for the entire trip. The trekking was outstanding - challenging but not too hard. The cultural visits were totally amazing and opened our eyes to history and knowledge that we were unaware of. We would 100 percent recommend Fatih and his company (including our driver Mujdat) for any trekking/cultural trips to Cappadocia and the Lycian Way. Thank you for a truly wonderful holiday.

We had a wonderful Lycian Way tour with Fatih. Our group, each in different temo, had a great experience that we will remember with happiness thanks to Fatih’s guidance, knowledge and professionalism. We were very happy to explore the Lycian Way, one of the most beautiful walking paths not only in Turkey but also in the world, with his guidance and information he provided. He introduced us to local people they hosted us with a great hospitality and delicious Turkish food. We will come again, we have just started. Our sincere thanks to Fatih and Mujdat for everything.

We did the amazing, authentic cooking course with Fatih and Mujdat’s family. They arrived promptly in the morning to collect us from our accommodation and took us to the local market in Fethiye. We never knew the market existed and it was a brilliant display of fresh fruit and vegetable. A fabulous way to explore and start the day. Once we had looked and collected the food for the day (all included in the price) we then travelled to Mujdat’s home to meet his delightful wife, mother in law and daughter. They greeted us with a beautiful laid out Turkish tea and coffee and delicious local cake and then we got to preparing and cooking the fabulous traditional Turkish dishes. The care and dedication to the recipes and techniques was second to none and the detail in the preparation was fantastic to watch and learn. When the cooking was done, we all sat down and enjoyed the delicacies we had prepared together. Our hosts and the experience could not have been better throughout and it was an honour to be invited into their home and learn their traditions. We could not recommend this experience enough. If you plan to do one thing on your trip to Turkey, do this. It was the best way to learn about Turkish culture and the hosts are truly delightful, welcoming and we felt instantly at home.

We did a 3 day tour on Lycian Way paths with a private group of 7 including family and friends. We started at Fethiye. Our guide Fatih made this a wonderful experience. We loved the beautiful landscapes, breathtaking views and variations in flora and de fauna along the coast. The tour included a short visit to Sidyma ancient city where we met Kate Clow, writer and creator of Turkey's long distance trekking route The Lycian Way. The tour was very well organized and included delicious meals and good hotels. Fatih adapted the tour whenever needed and organized all transport. He was also very knowledgeable about local history, flora and fauna. In short, a great experience for all participants.

We walked 3 days in Lycian way and did 2 days by car to see important Lycian cities including a day on the sea. We started at Fethiye and finished at Kekova. Fatih planned and led the trip with his team. We were looked after very well and different capabilities of our group was taken into account. A wonderfully personalised tour. We stayed in amazing places had delicious home made food. The walk the ancient cities and views were breathtaking. I would recommend this tour to everyone who wish to have great experience and taste Turkish heritage and hospitality with professional guidance.

2 families took an 8-day trip along the Lycian Way at the end of February. The weather was perfect as well as the views. The sea was still a little cool but that didn't stop our children. Overlandtravel enabled us to have a tailor-made holiday. Our guide Fatih was very attentive to our group. The route chosen, the difficulty of the walk, the various visits, the hotels chosen... everything was organised to measure. He made us meet with Kate Clow. The minibus driver Mujdat even went barracuda fishing with our children. We all came home with memories in our heads and the calves of champions.

Disclaimer: this is a totally biased review. After experiencing Overland's 8-day Best of the Lycian Way tour, I'm such a fan that I can only gush: the breathtaking scenery, the fantastic hiking across ever-changing terrain, the genuine hospitality of the Turkish hosts, the amazing and plentyful food, the ancient history surrounding us, the azure blue, transparent Mediterranean, and of course our guide Fatih, who made it all happen. Nothing was too much trouble for him, he was knowledable, intuitive and flexible. He made an unbeatable team with Mahmut, the super patient, safe driver. Our group of 8 female friends saw Turkiye from its most glorious side and had a holiday we will cherish. There's absolutely nothing I would change about this trip. And no, I have not been paid by Fatih to write this heavily skewed review. It's my own opinion and I stand by it.

Our group had an incredible time hiking the Lycian Way. Fatih was a brilliant guide, sharing his extensive knowledge and love for his country and catering for all our needs. The hiking was challenging but rewarding and Fatih allowed for swimming opportunities whenever possible. Being hosted by villagers made it a truly authentic and unforgettable experience.
