Not what expected and overall not impressed
We were told 48 hours before going on the trip that there would be entry fees for each trip. 240lire for the Tslos tour and 100 lire for the Saklikent Gorge were well worth it, if you want to experience some Turkish history. The gorge was impressive and good to do some walking on holiday. Be prepared to get wet and wear some decent footwear, to avoid slipping over. I would also advice to visit in the morning as by 1pm, it was getting quite busy at the river entrance. However, the driver only spoke minimal English, he was jovel and polite. the lunchtime meal was only allowed to be fish or chicken and even though it states buffet it was not. We had to pay extra because our daughters had pancakes and omelettes another 550. We decided to give Patara Beach a miss as we were informed we would have to pay another 1300lire to sit on the beach, given we had paid for the trip, lunch plus the entry fees we felt this extra fee was unjustified. We ended up home by 4pm. There was no trip to trout farm as advertised or carpet weaving as advertised. Overall, probably not what I was expecting based on previous trips in Turkey. However, the driver was welcoming and friendly. This trip is definitely not worth the money and overall we felt shortchanged,

Day trip to Xanthos, Saklikent Gorge and Patara Beach.
Xanthos and Saklikent Gorge were well worth it, if you want to experience some Turkish history. The gorge was impressive and good to do some walking on holiday. Be prepared to get wet and wear some decent footwear, to avoid slipping over. I would also advice to visit in the morning as by 1pm, as it was getting quite busy at the river entrance. However, the driver only spoke minimal English, so there was some confusion regarding entry fees which were inclusive of the excursion. Anyway, that was sorted out with his manager. Afternoon rafting on the river was a lot of fun and the lunchtime meal was tasty and plentiful. In hindsight I would have given Patara Beach a miss, just too busy and we only stayed about an hour. Overall, probably not what I was expecting based on previous trips in Turkey. However, the driver was very helpful and welcoming and organised our return to the hotel, as he needed to do an airport transfer.

    Amazing Airbnb Kalkan holiday
We had an amazing time at Kalkan, superb villa and Kazim was always available if needed. The restaurants were amazingly well priced, infact we were surprised how much you can afford, even at the top restaurants. Weather was beautiful and there's so much to see and do, or just relaxing by the private pool side, Kalkan has a bit of everything. Thank you to Grant at KalkanHolidayProperty.Com’s for all your assistance and suggestions. They whole family (all 10 of us) had the best time ever and would recommend it to everyone. Looking firwards to coming back in the near future.

    Boat trip with views.
Great food. Very friendly crew. Had a fun day jumping off the boat. Blackcurrant ice cream topped the day.

Very average experience, but history, landscape and scenery stunning.
Positives: 1. Stunning landscape and scenery. 2. Great food on board. Negatives: 1. Really poor hosts, main host drank beer throughout. 2. Hardly any commentary about stunning landscape and scenery plus its history. 3. Captain, nice chap but slept when we stopped for swimming. 4. We stopped for swimming 5 times..! Like they ran out of ideas. 5. The Semilia Island experience was poor, no guide, no history explanation. 6. Good opportunity for locals to rip off tourists with exorbitant ice cream prices. 7. Procession of boats running through a 'boring' routine with unengaged hosts, no passion, just doing a job. No love of the job at all. 8. How many can you squeeze onto one boat? It felt like a refugee crossing!

    Turkey at its best
I would have to say I am totally prejudiced towards anything in Turkey now from my first holiday ever in this amazing country. In particular, our visit to the Canyon, for example: I was so impressed with its raw beauty and to be able to hike while my feet walk in rushing water was a dream under the hot sun. And the facilities available to eat or drink or even buy the right shoes to walk in or any souvenirs, all provided in such a unique way with water all around nice and safe and colourful. In the canyon, we came to a place where I would not have continued further due to my lower back issues and weight but there were hard-hatted guides there and they offered to help. I said no way would I manage but they were amazing and simply provided the physical support needed and I did go further all the way to a most idyllic fresh waterfall under which I stood in total elation that I managed the extra stretch. We made this trip with our own rented car. Another day, we visited Patara beach and its surrounding ruins. That was yet another treasure discovered all at such minimal prices, with service provided everywhere such as food, souvenirs, toilets, parking etc etc. The beach is beautiful, lives upto its reputation, the water so clear and soft. We returned several times just to be there as the sun set, magnificent!

    Shocking
Totally ripped off! We booked this trip and were assured of an incredible day out, but what we got was far from it. We were picked up by a very unfriendly driver. Expecting to be driven to Kas, we were left confused and bemused when we drove past and found ourselves , who knew where. We had no idea where we were heading and there was no explanation. We then arrived in Kekova where we were shown to the boat, it wasn’t a great first impression, with threadbare carpets and rickety rails. It was a windy day but the sun was shining, so not all was lost, or so we hoped. The highlight of the tour was supposed to be the Sunken City. We sailed past it so quickly we had no real hope of seeing anything, and those of us at the top of the boat didn’t even know to look as we couldn’t hear or understand the commentary. The food served was described as a BBQ but the only meat cooked was chicken strips and the rest was a cold pasta salad and a cold aubergine and tomato salad, bulger wheat and some courgette patties. All to eat with a fork, no knives and no real hospitality. As the day wore on, and on, it was ever more disappointing, so much so that almost everyone on board fell asleep. Some guests, asked for the trip to be abandoned but were denied. On our return we spoke to the organiser at Unlimited Holidays and his response was “ we can’t stop at the Sunken City when it is windy and we did think we should cancel the day but decided not to. What you should have experienced was the boat stopping and you looking through a glass floor to see the Sunken City but we can’t do that when it is windy” No real apology, no offer of some reimbursement, but an offer of a discount on another tour. But we will never go anywhere with them , we know other tour operators in Kalkan and have always received excellent service. An unfortunate lesson learnt…don’t go with this company

    One to miss!
Too much time spend at border control. Quite an intimidating experience. Boat was by no means full as early in the season, boat trip approximately half an hour each way. Queuing for at least 40 minutes on arrival, not that many passengers, possibly 40 and we were not at the back of the queue. Long wait again on return. Would be a nightmare if the boat was full.

    Just an ordinary cruise
We took the cruise with the boat called eftelya. Everything was great, but we returned earlier than the other boats. We didnt know why, but they had two cruise a day. They left for another cruise as soon as we got off. Dont forget to ask the returning time before you decide the boat to take.

Nice place for breakfast in nature
We went to this place with the extended family for breakfast and really enjoyed. Food was really delicious and view exquisite. Our food was served in a tree house where we all cozily sat down. You can see live fishes swimming in the restaurant. There is also a fish spa on the site where you can have a feet treatment.

    From the mists of time.
Xanthos (Arnna in Lykian and Kınık today) in “rocky Likya” was the region’s capital and leader of the Likyan League, a confederation of twenty three cities, until, in defeat, it ceded its place variously to Patara and Myra. It’s history goes back to the Homeric past. Today almost all that can be seen is Roman. Entering the ungated site, to the left is Vespasian’s gate and to the right a steel plaque marks the forlorn site of the wonderful Nereid tomb, (Erbinna’s tomb) now in the British museum. A little further and the theatre with its dramatic pillar tombs is perhaps the most famous view in Lykia, there is even a probable relief of the view in a rock tomb in Myra. The ticket office is in the car park. To the right of the car park, looking tiwards the forum, is the Xanthos Stele. This records the deeds of Kherei son of Harpagos whose tomb is believed to be the Harpie Tomb. It also records the Delian league’s general Melasandros’ mission to Xanthos, references to Artaxerxes 2nd (Persian ruler) and an otherwise unknown attack by Spartans. Behind the theatre is the original acropolis. The far left hand corner is part of the original city and its wall, perhaps Homer’s Sarpedon lived here. Crossing the car park again the wonderful, inscription lined street takes you past later. Byzantine remains, a huge basilica and an archbishop’s palace. On a track to the right is the “Dancers” tomb with dancing girls and a dramatic fatal hunting scene. Continuing along the path to the right is a vast necropolis. Up over the wall one climbs to the ‘Roman’ necropolis, a very fine group of house tombs and a huge pillar tomb. The one on the very far right has an inscription in the Lykian language. Just below are the bases of several lost sarcophagai, one, that of Payava, lost to the care of the British Museum. This fabulous World Heritage Site reeks of its three and a half thousand year history, Brutus of “Et tu Brutus” fame besieged and destroyed it as did Alexander the Great and before them, in the 5th century BCE, the Greek general Harpagos. Brutus’s and Alexander’s attacks precipitated mass suicides and burning of all of their possessions only for the city to rise again, repopulated by Xanthians who were from home. From here it is a must to visit the Letoon, the religious centre of the Lykian League with temples, pools and terrapins. The modern agricultural town does not provide much in the way of tourist facilities.

    Be prepared
We hired a car from Kalkan headed towards Fethiye where Saklıkent is sign posted. Keep driving past men offering a car park in there restaurant till you reach the car park on left just past the entrance to the canyon it’s self. The car is 5tl about 80 pence. As you walk passed all the stalls selling rubbish is the ticket office for the canyon tickets 6tl the is a short walk along a walkway. When you arrive where the 2 rivers meet my advise is to go right into the clear water where you can see where your placing your feet then move towards the rope crossing the river. If you head straight for the rope it’s where both rivers meet and the current is fast, rocks are bigger and harder to cross. You will get wet and muddling but if you take your time it is well worth the views down the canyon. The photos of people cross is my friends going the hard way over the large rocks

Paragliding off Babdag mountain to Ouldeniz is unique experience which by itself make the vist of Ouldeniz worthy. We ( a group of three friends) did it with Avatar team and the pilots were excellent - very experienced, giving you the feeling of safety, which is one of the most important thing for the beginners like we were.
The flight itself from 1800 m was magnificent, lasting around half an hour with amazing views and the feelings were great - gliding above the sea like an albatross ...

It took me 7 years to pluck p the courage to do it and now I have I can say what an experience. It's fantastic and the views are amazing. It's nowhere need as scary as you think it will be you just glide in silence and the pilots are so skilled I felt safe every second. If you've ever thought about it......do it, you'll love it.

If you want to experience bliss, peace, awe, scenes, sereneness, calm then you must go paragliding in Oludeniz, Fethiye. Tandem is one of the best jump companies that is there and they have very good and friendly pilots, with experience over 9 years! So you are safe with them at 2000 meters as you jump off with nothing but a line holding you in the cold air! This is an experience that has to be lived over and over again! A MUST VISIT!
