About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- imraan k0 contributionsSCAM ALERT!Same guy Bekir Ucarkus is a very big Scammers people please stay away from him if you book a tour in Cappadocia ask the tour operator who is the tour guide, rather pay the extra money for tours then getting scammed by Crooks. Is there anything people can do to get your money back or get his licence blocked.Written July 18, 2018
- Vaibhav V0 contributionsBekir UCARKUS is a FraudBekir UCARKUS, is the biggest fraud of Turkey. He took money from us and have booked only half the tour and left us at Cappadocia and run away in mid of night. We booked everything ourselves afterwards. People in Cappadocia helps us a lot, even though most of them dont know english, they understand our problem and help us a lot. After the trip also when we reported to tourist Police at Sultanehemet, he called us and told us he will return our money with penalty, but he never showed up. Never ever book through him. We are also reporting his case in TURSAB and TUROB for frauds.Written September 28, 2017
- alejandro7130 contributionsScam Alert!!!!!We paid for a full tour of two days in Capadoccia, we missed a day because they didn´t bought our tickets from Istanbul to Capadoccia. When we arrived we were not even greeted by the company. The next day we did not know what to do and had to wait for someone to come for us. Finally a guy named "Bekir" appeared and gave us a half day tour. We request to be partially refunded our money and "Bekir" said that he had already talked to the company about all the inconvenience and that they would send the transaction to us for refunds, we did not believe him but we could not do anything. Now we try to communicate and of course they do not answer, never refunded. WE PAY TWO DAYS OF TOUR AND WE RECEIVE THE HALF OF ONE. CAUTION, SCAM ALERTWritten June 19, 2017
- Elena P0 contributionsOh boy, STAY AWAY from this travel companyI was looking for a way to take my mind off organising my itinerary in Turkey and, given the good reviews I read on TripAdvisor, I asked this company for support. I noticed the reviews on TA were mostly about balloon flights but the company's site offered full Turkey tours so I thought the quality would have been consistent. I booked a private tour with them and paid, asking if I could kindly get the hotel info, payment receipt and travel details. NOTHING. No one answered my emails for weeks. I didn't even know what hotel I'd be staying at my first night in Turkey and wondered if I'd been ripped off. I even wondered if I had to re-book a tour with another travel company to make sure someone would actually meet me for a tour at the airport. Once in Turkey, we incredibly got picked up from the airport and I was relieved, thinking things would get better. Well, they didn't. - on our first day (tour day) we were left in the hotel until 5pm. We asked our hotel concierge if he could kindly assist us and get in touch with the guide (no one answered us at the company's contact number provided) and we were first told that pickup would be at 1pm, then at 3, then at 3:30... when they showed up at 5pm I thought the guide would apologise and tell us what was going on... but nothing. Even the concierge was embarrassed and kept looking at us with an apologetic look on his face. That day's tour lasted a whooping 1 hour. We were back in the hotel by 6:15pm. - We'd booked this tour because it provided specific sites that not all tours offered. Too bad we were put on different tours each day, with itineraries that often had little to do with what we had agreed on - thankfully this meant that sometimes the tour agencies that we were delivered to were more organised than our own. But still, we paid to see a lot of things that, sadly, we never actually saw. We were never brought to a series of important highlights that I'll probably never get to see again. - One day we were taken to one of the most important tourist sites in Turkey (I had to request to see it, otherwise we'd have been brought straight to the airport). This was on our itinerary with entrance fee included but I had to ask the tour manager to pay for our entry, otherwise he would have left it up to us. He unwillingly gave us "more than enough money", cash, to buy our entrance tickets - without even getting off the van to help us out. Of course it wasn't enough, so we had to pay part of what we'd already paid to see!!! Oh, we also saw the site without a guide (included). - When the company manager was also our tour guide (I'm assuming that hiring the tour guide we'd paid for was out of the question), he hardly said anything at all. The driver just drove and drove and the manager / guide just sat there, waiting for the day to end and drop us off at the hotel. A thrilling experience. I can say I've NEVER had a worse travel experience in my whole life. If I could go back I'd give the money I spent for this trash tour to charity, at least I'd have stayed home and saved myself the headaches. I'm sorry to say this but if you can opt for another company, do.Written February 14, 2017
- B3ccaM0 contributionsEye Opening AdventureI spent 10 days traveling around Turkey and it was an amazing adventure. Bekir was very professional, hospital and catered my trip to my personal preferences. All of the establishments he took me too were socially responsible, they feed left overs to the stray animals and dispersed purchases throughout the business. This factor was very important to me, and I am happy that it was important to Bekir. I felt safe the entire time since Bekir kept a watchful eye on politics and was up to date on current events within the cities we visited. He adjusted the tour as needed without skipping monuments or cities. I saw some of the most beautiful scenic areas and buildings while getting detailed information about the history behind them. Bekir also ordered the best and most delicious food, every meal I tried something new and enjoyed every bite. The customer service that I experienced at all the establishments was remarkable and of the highest standard; from the concierge at the hotels to the waiters and shopkeepers I was greeted with a smile as well as catered as if I were a dignitary. I am so grateful that Bekir was my tour guide and I recommend his company full heartedly. If you are looking for an interesting and beautiful adventure then Travel Turkey is the tour company you need when planning your visit. This beautiful country should be on everyone's bucket list, so hurry and visit this gem.Written January 3, 2017

- rayburn20160 contributionsExcellent! A trip of a lifetime!I booked a last minute 11 day winter tour with Travel Turkey. This was my first trip to Turkey and it certainly exceeded my expectations! The itinerary included Cappadocia, Ephesus, Miletus, Didyma, Pamukkale and Istanbul. From my first email to Bekir I was impressed with their great customer service. He was very prompt in answering all my questions prior to my arrival and customized the itinerary based on my interests. Every detail including flights, hotels, transportation, tours and food arrangements was excellent. Hotels and meals were fabulous! Bekir was the tour guide for the entire trip and he shared his in depth knowledge of the country’s vast history and diverse cultures at every site we visited. I felt at home and perfectly safe and comfortable throughout my stay. The Cappadocia balloon ride with THK balloons was an amazing experience! Ephesus and the Ottoman sites in Istanbul far exceeded my expectations and the beautiful landscapes from the Aegean coast to the small villages in the mountains were simply incredible! I especially liked the flexibility of the Travel Turkey staff to accommodate last minute changes and requests -from finding laundry services in remote areas to added visits to museums in Istanbul. The drivers were very friendly and patient and the tour guide was friendly and professional, hospitable and very knowledgeable. The food was amazing... I particularly enjoyed the family owned seafood restaurant and souvenir shop across the ruins at Didyma. Everything was expertly organized and I felt connected with the people. The weather was cold and crisp, but pleasant. All along I felt I was in good hands. The tour was truly perfect! A million thanks to Bekir and the Travel Turkey team for the excellent package you put together for me and for your wonderful hospitality! I highly recommend Travel Turkey and I will definitely use them again for future travels!Written December 22, 2016
- Joel and Leah F0 contributionsFantastic Day Trip!Zeki took us around to see the highlights of the region and it was wonderful! We truly felt like we got to see everything we wanted to. Zeki was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable both of the region and the history of Anatolia. His English was excellent and he took such great care of us.Written October 16, 2016
- Rodwell V0 contributionsAn unforgettable experienceWe had a great experience from every angle, communication wise, cost benefit ratio and the most important the actual experience. The communication is the first thing to highlight, Bekir UCARKUS was always available to answer all of our questions via e-mail and most importantly, in a timely fashion, that was the deal breaker for me and my wife to book with First Travel. The cost benefit ratio is definitely A+, starting with the Mercedes Benz Vito Transfers, airlines tickets, a beautiful Cave hotel room, the sightseeing and last but not least, the hot air balloon ride. We book the 2 days 1 night in Cappadocia and were extremely happy with what we received. The actual experience is simply mind blowing, the fairy chimneys, Ihlara Valley walk, the first christians caves and underground cities and the history behind it, can only be excel by the knowledge and the ability to transmit it from Bekir and his tour guides but I have to accept that our favourite experience was the hot air ballon ride, seeing all the preparation before takeoff, the take off, the beautiful sunrise from that high altitude and see over 100 balloons flying at the same time it was breathe taking, I cannot describe with words how amazed and happy we felt with the view and the experience, it totally worth it. I just can say that my wife and I were very lucky to bump into this company while searching on-line for a hot air balloon ride and we thank Bekir and his team for making this a memorable experience that we will cherish for ever.Written August 27, 2015
- Colette T0 contributionsAn Incredible Experience in CappadociaMy boyfriend and I had the amazing fortune to be introduced to Bekir Ucarkus, a travel guide for First Travel through my grandmother. Bekir was so incredibly generous and kind during our entire stay in Cappadocia, setting us up with a beautiful hotel and organizing a tour of the underground city in Cappadocia at very short notice. He even organized a balloon ride for us which was one of the most unforgettable experiences of our lives! Bekir is such a kind and hardworking person and he runs his business very smoothly. We highly recommend using First Travel if you are planning on visiting Cappadocia. Also as a side note, if you are worried about travelling to Turkey due to unrest, I would not worry about it too much. I never felt unsafe during my entire month-long travels throughout Turkey. The people were nothing but generous and kind and I feel so lucky to have been able to see a small part of this beautiful country.Written August 23, 2015
- SJTan890 contributionsProblems handled smooth and steadily by First Travel!!I book 3 tours from First Travel Turkey. 1) 2D1N Pammukale & Esphesus Tour 2) Red Tour in Cappadocia 3) Green Tour in Cappadocia It is my first visit to Turkey and engaging a local tour in Turkey. One thing I learnt is that the people in Turkish are very willing to help even when they do not have the answers yet. Do not panic when you don't get your answers or uncertain about the next program that is going to happen. They will sort it out for you. I'm very happy and impressed with the patience over email and skype with all my queries with Bekir (GM of Saray balloons), he did a fantastic job planning my stay and flight (I thought their choice of hotel given to me was even better than the one i found myself). Bekir speaks and writes English fluently so you do not have to worry about communications issues. If you get to meet him in Cappadocia, he is a true businessman that connects. There was even a hiccup in between where I missed my flight and Bekir the GM of Saray Balloons, steadily handled the problem and got me new tickets immediately so i could still reach Cappadocia on the same night with transport fetching me from the airport. Couldn't thank Bekir and his team enough for the wonderful experience I had with my GF and I. Thanks a lot for the wonderful experience and I hope to see you guys again soon!Written June 22, 2015
- MichelleAddo0 contributionsSeeing and understanding - what a great guideWe were fascinated by the caves, the history and the arid landscape of Cappadocia. So Touring 2 days with Bekir from First Travel in January 2014 was invaluable as he took us to many sites and at each place gave a history lesson and answered our many questions. We learned so much. Not only that, he answered a heap of questions about Turkish culture that we'd had bottled up! Prior to our Tour we had walked to Goreme Open Air Museum and the Rose Valley, so Bekir taylor-made our tour which covered all the major sites we hadn't seen, as well as going to some less touristy places. We visited two very different underground cities, Pigeon Valley, Cave houses and churches, Fairy castles, places I can't remember the names of and a Carpet Showroom. Bekir checked in along the way with where we were going, so he was very flexible. We totally enjoyed our tour with First Travel.Written February 7, 2014
- DJoub_ZA10 contributionsFirst rate touring with First TravelCappadocia is a wonderful and captivating region to visit, but it is quite large and therefore having a good tour guide is a must. Mustafa from First Travel did his job extremely well, showing us some of the most beautiful landscapes and telling us the story of Cappadocia as well as going the extra mile to ensure our enjoyment. First Travel provided a memorable experience.Written January 6, 2014

- Stephanie97630 contributionsA house-stone tour Here it goes; Cappadocia is one of the beautiful place I have seen, it's like living in a history at present. Seeing all those abandoned (but preserved) cave or stone houses feels like the old time. Our tour guide "Mr. Mustafa Gulgen" is more of an amazing guide, it's like a history professor talking non-stop about everything and anything, in where we are and what we are seeing. He is so approachable, too patient to answer all the questions, very funny- we sing along in the van! That was a good moment, and he even take us to the shop to buy umbrella and raincoat as we are in full summer attire and the weather is cold and about to rain - in which it did! We are such a joke! :) it was a 2 days tour, we visited Devrent Valley, Monks Valley, Avanos (pottery) and Goreme Open Air museum on the first day; and following day we went to Rose valley, White Castle Area, Carpet Factory and underground City. It's all worth it and thanks to FIRST TRAVEL.Written November 2, 2013
