What to expect
  • Around 9:30am, board an air-conditioned vehicle at your Goreme hotel and begin your journey to the heart of Cappadocia’s striking landscape. Your first stop is Avanos, an ancient town famed for its production of earthenware pottery, where you’ll observe a pottery demonstration and learn of Avanos’ thriving ceramic industry. Then, continue to Çavusin to explore one of Turkey’s oldest settlements: the beautifully preserved paintings of the 5th-century Church of St. John the Baptist are one of Çavusin’s top attractions. Proceed to the spectacular lunar landscapes of Devrent Valley, where rocks shaped like camels, snakes, worshippers, and dancers abound. Capture these unique formations on camera before you arrive at Goreme Open Air Museum, a UNESCO-listed site considered the area’s crowning glory. Discover churches and monasteries expertly carved into rock faces and admire original frescoes that date back to the 5th century. Having explored thoroughly, you’ll head to Pasabag Valley, where rock formations known as ‘fairy chimneys’ litter the landscape. These unique features are reminiscent of surrealist paintings and it is possible to ascend to the summit of one modified structure. Your penultimate stop is Uchisar Castle, the highest point in Cappadocia. From this elevated vantage point, the views are simply spectacular. Conclude your tour with a visit to a winery in Ürgup, where you’ll sample local wines before drop-off at your Goreme hotel.

Pleasant tour
Oct 2021 • Solo
This was a pleasant tour- 4.5 stars. We got to see some interesting sights (ie fairy chimneys) and learn historical tidbits from our lovely guide. Transportation in a clean vehicle and a tasty lunch were included. I thought the price of the tour ($55 USD) was reasonable, just a tad more expensive compared to other tours I’ve done. Overall if you have a free day in Goreme and are not sure what to do, this can be a nice way to spend 7-8 hours.

Really good tour with Mehmet
Feb 2020 • Family
We did the red tour with Mehmet when we were in Capadoccia. He was really helpful and was informative.

We travelled with our 8 month old boy and 7 year old daughter. And will definitely recommend this tour as doable for families with young children. (No stroller though) you will need baby sling..

Amazing tour and worth every penny!
Nov 2019 • Couples
This tour covered all the main attractions of Cappadocia within a few hours. Although I am not one to usually enjoy tour groups due to the large amounts of people and long trips, this tour managed to cover everything promptly and comfortably in a small group.

The car was super comfortable and both our driver and tour guide took good care of us. Our guide Baki was really friendly and knowledgeable and ensured the tour was on time and ran smoothly. The highlight of the tour was the amazing buffet lunch and live pottery demonstrations. This tour was worth every cent we paid and definitely great value for money vs the other tours I saw online. If you don’t have much time to spend in Cappadocia, I highly recommend doing this tour!!
I will definitely be back again! Thank you!

Amazing red tour!
You have to join this tour when u come to Cappadocia. Tour guide is very nice and clearly explain the attractions in english. They well pick u up from hotel on time and return to hotel at the end of trip. No worry about the transportation. Including the lunch buffet as well. All you can eat :) also including the shopping point of ceramics but no pressure to focus u to buy. Recommend to join !

Amazing scenery + Rich cultural heritage

Red Tour, Green Tour. For me the former was the better. It wasn't just better, it was amazing. Imagination Valley blows your mind away, so do the fairy chimnies. If you love nature walks this is a 'must not miss'. But I've also enjoyed immensely the trip to a proper ceramics factory and getting to see and understand the whole production process as well as to admire a showroom that for me looked like a museum.
As for recommendations:
1. They say `wear flat shoes`. Yes, but not flat soles. I definitely recommend trekking shoes. The terrain is slippery, some extra grip is not just welcome, but needed.
2. When you go to Imagination Valley do walk up the hill. The stop will probably be short, but it's definitely worth to go up one-two hundred meters. But trekking shoes would come in handy (or should it be footy :P).
As for the rest: Food was tasty (better than expected for a meal-included trip), Ilknur, our guide, was great - friendly and smiling all the way, speaking English fluently. You usually know when people try to be nice. That's not the case with Ilknur - she's genuinely nice.
As a conclusion, for me the Red Tour with Tourmania (and Ilknur) was in the Top 3 activities: after the hot air balloon ride, but ahead of the ATV sunset tour. :)

Nice Tour
It was a nice tour. Short and concise. Tour guide Noush (not sure if this is the correct spelling) was really knowledgeable. The place deserves more time though. Like open air museum, i think it would be better to spend half day in there. But for someone who doesn’t have the luxury of time, this is a great tour.
