About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- 564mem0 contributionsA trainwreck from start to finishThis company is absolutely awful. The sights themselves were nice, but the arrangements made were simply unbearable. To start with, we were picked up from our hotel and it took 2 hours of bumpy roads in a minibus with broken air conditioning to get to our boat. Afterwards, we boarded and were surprised to find the boat, Eyüp Reis 2, completely overbooked. The seats on the first deck were completely crowded, and the top deck was also filled up aside from unshaded sunbeds exposed to the searing summer heat. To top it all off, once we arrived at St. Nicholas Island, we swam for a bit and came back onboard for lunch. We were told to take a seat, except there are no seats *at all* available on the bottom deck. Instead of offering to take the food to the top deck for us, we had to ask, and of course, the first person said it's fine while the next person took over and said it isn't allowed. So we sat hungry because of a complete lack of space to have a meal while being denied having our meal where there IS space. Other boats around us had no issues with people taking their food to the top deck. Do not book this company despite the good reviews it receives, at least not for the Butterfly Valley excursion. Spend a little more money and go for a company that cares about your experience, instead of treating you like cattle. I repeat: This company is AWFUL! The only upside is the staff on the phone are extremely helpful and speak English very well, which is where our positivity with them ended.Written July 19, 2021
- VRNaffy0 contributionsAn Amazing ExperienceOur group of 8 embarked the "Revenge" at Fethiye for a 3-day cruise, and thoroughly enjoyed every moment. On Day 2, the weather turned a little ugly, but it didn't last long. The crew made a few changes to the schedule and menu because it was not possible to cook. The Skipper and crew were excellent in all respects. The food was great. Capt Ergul was delightful company as well, and kept us in the loop about everything. Our other 8 co-passengers were wonderful too!Written October 18, 2019
- aabr20150 contributionssailing vacationMy friends and I were sailing for 1 week with Alaturka2 in the beginning of October 2019. My husband and I have arrived at Dalaman airport late when the boat with passengers left the port. The driver from the company picked us at the airport and drove to the place where the small motorboat picked us up and brought to Alaturka2, which was anchored for the night. Everything was quick, nice and smooth. The crew even left a delicious dinner for us. Thank you very much for such a good service. The trip was great, weather was gorgeous, all the places we’ve attended were very interesting and beautiful. Especially I like excursion to Dalyan. I also like the food they served, always fresh, well prepared, a lot of veggies and fruits but I’d like to have little more sweets for the breakfast and afternoon tea. We had great people on the boat, including the crew, I had a lot of fun. Thank you!Written October 16, 2019
- katyanetanyaza0 contributions7-day cruiseUnforgettable journey along Turkish coast line. Beautiful views while sailing, during resting and swimming in blue bays, and when visiting towns along the way. The crew was very polite and friendly, food was delicious - Mustafa is a god of kitchen! Sleeping on top of the deck and jumping into water from the yacht felt so romantic! Water was clean and warm.Written October 11, 2019
- babochka0 contributions2 weeks on Alaturka cruisesI traveled with 2 groups of people on 2 different yachts (one week on each). There were great scenery, abundant historical places, blue clear waters and artsy villages on a way. Alaturka 81 was a great ship with very professional crew who anticipated all our needs. Our cook Mustafa was preparing great meals, our captain were finding the best bays for swimming and spending a night. We had lot's of fun and great moments. Second week on Alaturka 2 we went to Marmaris, Cleopatra bath and other places. Food was good but we wish we could have more fish. People in Alaturka office was very nice and inviting, they served us Turkish tea, helped to do laundry between 2 trips, stored our luggage. The whole experience with Alaturka was very good and we are planning to do more exciting trips with them.Written October 11, 2019
- HangZhang19830 contributionsVery happy on a very awkward cruisegulet cruise Fethiye to Olympos starting oct8. Was forced to do 12islands instead without notice due to bad weather and was not told of change until end of the first day when we reached the 12 islands. Very apologetic crew who bent over backwards (especially lady staff member who was supposed to be on holiday but helped us instead) to accomodate our request to go on the Oludeniz paragliding (which was not possible due to the change in itinerary). The company paid for alternative transport back to Fethiye and the altered private transport Fethiye to Antalya (originally paid for demre to Antalya transport, which was no longer possible due to change in itinerary). Although distressed at the time, we have no complaints as the company went above and beyond their duty to help us. Suggestions to improve: if the first day itinerary to Oludeniz and butterfly valley is not possible (Due to weather) please consider arranging alternative transport by road, and for gulet to pick us up later, as some passengers book your tour specifically for the blue Lagoon/Paragliding. If that is not possible please try to advise passengers of change in itinerary before leaving Fethiye and give us option to cancel or find alternative methods.Written October 11, 2019
- traveldreamsurf0 contributions3 night/4 day cruiseBeautiful yacht, really lovely staff and DELICIOUS food! Can't fault this and will book again I am sure! A must do for groups I especially loved being able to sleep up on the deck under the stars (even though the cabin was also very comfy)Written October 7, 2019
- 2kiwionthemove0 contributions3 night blue cruiseWe did the 4 day three night blue cruise on ‘revenge’ and it was AMAZING. We could have stayed on longer. The staff were lovely and professional. The boat was spotlessly clean and the food was delicious.Written October 3, 2019
- wwxxyy0 contributionsSeven day cruise along the Turkish coast departing from and returning to FethiyeThe boat (Grand Alaturka) and crew of four with Captain Volkan was excellent in every respect. We were two families with four adults and 5 teenagers. The captain is a 5th generation captain who knew the coast intimately. He found beautiful anchorages along the coast and had great recommendations when we visited villages and small cities along the way. We had a memorable, fun, relaxing week, and would do it again without reservation. The crew were very responsive to our requests and helpful in so many ways. In addition, during the long planning phase in the months prior to our arrival we were very professionally supported and guided by Alaturka Cruises team. They were the initial reason we chose the company because they offered great advice and detail to facilitate the planning of the trip - our first.Written September 3, 2019

- Sheldonjg0 contributionsBlue Cruise Olympus to Fethiye and day trip to PamukkaleThis is a "can't miss" experience! Four days/three nights on board a small cruise, stopping at islands, coastal towns, and idyllic coves along the way. The crew was very accommodating, preparing great food everyday and ensuring everyone was looked after. The waters are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and just relaxing. Pamukkale is a bit of a drive, but has unique geography along with ancient ruins in the background. The end point, Kusadasi, is an underrated city with lots of arts and entertainment on offer. Our stay there was perhaps too short, as there was more to do and see than we anticipated. Absolutely recommended for families!Written August 25, 2019
- Megs910 contributionsCruise from Olympos to FethiyeI had a wonderful 3 night, 4 day cruise with Alaturka. The staff onboard were amazing and the food was delicious. It was a great way to see the Turkish coastline and a highlight of my trip. The same company let me store my bag in Selçuk for the day while I visited Ephesus for no charge. Thanks Alaturka!Written August 23, 2019
- 645maggiey0 contributions8 Day Beautiful Histories TourI want to thank you for organising this tour so quickly. We decided at the last minute to book a trip to Turkey to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and it was absolutely wonderful. Our guide was fantastic, his knowledge, humour and patience made our holiday something special. He was very sensitive to our needs and requests as well as giving us various options based on our preferences. The accommodation was outstanding and knowing that you were readily available to us if we needed anything was very comforting. Thank you again for a wonderful holiday.Written August 20, 2019
- GeorgeSamuel910 contributions4 days -5 nightsAn amazing trip with an amazing crew couldn’t recommend enough. The crew was super helpful and a pleasure to be around for the whole trip. Of course the trip was lovely too, the Turkish Mediterranean is something special. The boats are super comfortable and well looked after. 10/10Written August 19, 2019
- spike1160 contributionsAlaturka 3 night cruise Fethiye to OlymposBeen wanting to do this cruise for a number of years, but waited until children were old enough (8 & 10). It was fantastic from start to finish, food was excellent, the crew were friendly and fun, a real experience for the children to mix and dine with people from around the world, sleep on deck beneath the stars, watch sunrises and sunsets, jump into the sea and snorkel. We were a family with 5 other couples, and we all had a great time. 3 nights 4 days was just long enough. We did bring some snacks on board, mainly for the children to eat between meals and bottled water was provided Free of charge throughout. Its total relaxation, nothing to do but relax, watch the scenery go by, read, chat with other passengers, and we did have wifi. Amazing experience! Thankyou!Written August 16, 2019

My parents and I did the tour of Ephesus with Marcy as our guide. Marcy went above and beyond for us when we had an unexpected change to our travel plans. She is a true gem and made it an experience to remember. Apart from her lovely and caring nature, Marcy was very knowledgeable and told us a lot about the history of Ephesus - she has good sense of humor too. I would recommend going on the tour with Marcy. She is the best tour guide we have come across - 1 of a kind!

I travelled around europe for 3 weeks with my mid-70s parents and older sister. Turkey and capadoccia was our last stop so we were a bit travel weary when we got there. Not to mention it was the height of summer so the heat was considerable. Marcy, our guide though, was equal parts entertaining, informative, and sensitive enough to each member of the group's needs that the qe just thoroughly enjoyed the whole tour.
Highly recommend this tour and their group to anyone intending to go ephesus and pamukkale. 5 stars all the way.

We met Marsy the day before our tour started,we were on a transfer bus and she was on board with her own tour group. We were going through some issues with our tour agency while she was there for us and trying to help the best she can. We really appreciate it entirely.
The tour of Ephesus went very well and we learned a whole lot about roman life and culture. She definitely knows alot and is able to connect the dots between various facts and bring to life how greek/romans lived such as the secret passage under the library. The temple of Artemis isn't there anymore but worth the trip if you have the right guide and Marsy gave a very vivid account of when it was still standing.
She could read the group and people very well and adjust appropriately on the tour. It was cold at virgin mary's house so she quickly gave the overview and let us free so we can scatter. There were some sights more interesting than other and gave us time to enjoy it while trying to keep us on schedule.
The tour bus was able to fit ~18 people, but half the group spoke Spanish so they had two tour guides (one for Spanish and the other English). That was very mindful of them and well appreciated.
There are two stops here to factories, but really just shops trying to sell tourist items as part of the tour. She was a good sport about it and upfront that we can't avoid it, so it helped us to just enjoy the leather fashion show and oil shop. Good that she sat through it all with us instead of being on her phone or disappearing.
Would highly recommend Marsy again.

We flew from Istanbul to Denizli airport to spend two days in Pamukkale and Ephesus area. Transportation was arranged by the company for pick up to take us to Pamukkale, where we joined with our group. That evening, we traveled to Kusadasi, and the next day we toured Ephesus and the surrounding area.
Our Guide was Guray, who was just excellent. He took time to explain everything in detail. He connected with our family and had a very good personality. His English was very clear. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Pamukkale (aka Hierapolis) Ephesus, and Artemis temple.
He answered our questions with patience and gave good advice about prices in the area.
I would highly recommend Guray (our guide) to anyone who is planning to take this tour.
The company had arranged good transportation and was hassle free round-trip. Then we left from Izmir to Istanbul at the end of the trip.

Book this tour directly with Alaturka and not with a 3rd party company. Ask for Marci. She is amazing and really great at explaining all the history. If you book directly, the cost is just $35 to $40 USD per person for 1 day tour in Ephesus. This is with the exchange rate as of October 2018.
