- markfN9238OX0 contributionsHighly interesting, somber and engaging dayThis trip is well worth the time and money. If you are interested in WW2 then this is a must. Note it is 3 hours each way drive...Written February 12, 2025
- rjo0130 contributionsBeautiful island, terrible driver of minivanWe had to meet at hua hin clock tower 0645, despite it said 0700 in the tour guide. The minivan( not bus) was not marked with “koh talu tour” as promised. So we had to ask around. The minivan van was worn and dirty, and the shock absorbers were absent. Then the driver used least 40 min back and forth, stopes and talk to people to find the last to persons. He had no clue were to go. Then the driver began his madman's drive towards the boat. While he was talking in his phone. All the time. I know the driving culture is different here vs Europe but still. He also had to stop and refuel. I have experienced a lot of driving in Thailand. This was by far the worst. Actually we dreaded the return as we thought it was the same driver and car. When we arrived at the boat pier the arrangement was wery good. Also the boat experience and the Island of course. The guide could have done a little more, but he’s english was quite good actually. And the island itself is absolutely worth a visit. We were wery happy when we came back from the island, and there was a new car and driver back to Hua Hin I will recommend the island, not the first tour with minivan. The tour is quite expensive so I think the minivan should be better for a 3 hours tour.Written February 6, 2025
- Roam610156037440 contributions2 crepe places in Hua Hin market! This was a good trip, until the last portion The tour guide was knowledgeable, willing to change the order of the sites, etc. I would not recommend taking this, if you are staying further away from the Hua Hun center( I stayed north of the airport), because the tuk tuk isn't very comfortable for longer distances. But the problem I had was the dinner portion. They pay for your meal, but after you get your food, they leave you to eat and tell you to meet them at "the crepe place", which we had visited earlier. Kind of strange but I went to the meeting point and waited 40 minutes only to find out there was ANOTHER crepe place in the next block. So this put a bad taste in my mouth, as I was ready to leave after 4+ hours! The guide never contacted me to see where I was, but I contacted the tour agency and told them I needed to leave now!Written January 30, 2025

- petejjj0 contributionsFantastic way of spending 8hrs of your holidayWhat a fantastic way of spending 8hrs of your holiday. The whole experience was very enjoyable. We were picked on time from our hotel and reached the train market about 1.75hrs later. We had time to buy stuff we did I know we needed before the train came through at about 14.30. We were then taken to a long boat where had a relaxing time cruising the Mekong river and the back rivers where the market was. Following this we had time, about an hour to buy yet more goodies from the floating market, before we were taken for dinner which was included in the price. We returned to our hotel at about 20.00, with fond, happy memories of the day!Written January 12, 2025

- Discover145829730540 contributionsMisleading description of a wine tourThe description of the visit was misleading. It was essentially a taxi ride to the Vineyards via a temple, where we were given 15 minutes to look round unescorted. On arrival at the vineyard we were offered a speedy tasting so that we could take part in a pre-scheduled tour of the vineyards. Please note that no wine is made onsite so it was just a quick 10 minute drive around various vineyards accompanied by one of the employees. Aside from the tasting (where we were given 3 small glasses of wine each and a description read from the card) and the 10 minute vineyard tour, everything else cost extra. It was promoted as a 4-5 hour trip, but if we hadn't decided to stay for a small lunch and spread the visit out a bit, we would have been back within 2.5 hours. It was an enjoyable visit, but not what had been described and consequently well over-priced.Written January 7, 2025
- Lotte S0 contributionsDisappointingThe tour was a bit disappointing. The guide walked very quickly through the walkway, so you didn't really get to see much of anything. He told something about something, but only to the 2 people walking right behind him, so the rest of us didn't really get to hear anything about what he had to say about the wildlife, fauna, etc. (If that was what he was talking about). The boat trip on the river was beautiful, and there was an opportunity to take some beautiful pictures. The trip up to Khao Daeng View Point was a bit tough, but you can take it at a pace that suits you. Wear good shoes. The view was beautiful. We waited a long time for the food at the restaurant, and when we got it the meat was not cooked through, neither chicken nor pork, it was all half raw!!! Afterwards we made a stop to the side of the road where we looked at a pineapple field, not really anything exciting about it. The tour is not worth the money.Written January 6, 2025

- K6229IEdavids0 contributionsPleasant Day Trip to the Thai Countryside and MountainsThe tour takes you to a temple (Wat Huay Mongkol) which has a giant monk rather than a buddha with lots of Thai pilgrims and then on west to the waterfall in the Kraeng Kachan National Park in the mountains on the Myanmar border, which is a beautiful location. The hike up to the 4th level of the falls is supposed to be 1.5km. Parts are quite steep requiring clambering over rocks where there are ropes to help you maintain balance. People with normal fitness should have no problem. But it's not suitable for very small children, elderly etc. Our 6 year old managed OK. You can get into the water at the pools at the 4th level. The pools at the 3rd and 4th level are full of carp and the soldiers/rangers sell food to tourists to feed the fish. This turns them effectively into fish farms. Am surprised this is allowed in a national park (suspect it is a scam that is not allowed in theory). The swarms of fish, which can only be so numerous due to continuous feeding, detract from the experience of nature. After returning from the falls we were taken to a nearby outdoor restaurant (under shade) for lunch in a rural area near the national park. The food is OK. The tour was well organized and the guide, Pom, was quite knowledgeable and very helpful and friendly. The day we went there were two minibuses and so we only had him on the bus from Hua Hin up to the temple on the way out. The only wildlife we saw were huge numbers of butterflies at the falls, I had thought we might see more than that.Written January 2, 2025

We were three adults who had a fantastic trip.
Our tour guide was dedicated and good at formulating itself in English.
We were delighted to see the elephants in their natural environment, but even if we hadn’t seen them, the nature of Kuri Buri National Park is worth the whole visit.
The dinner took place at a local restaurant with 4 different dishes surrounded by nature.
You get so much for the money. Can not recommend this trip enough.
Thank you to our tour guide for making this experience extra special!:D

We arranged pick from our hotel in Hua Hin. The transport was air constant comfortable. The driver and our guide, Mr Bow, were very nice. Mr Bow gave us lots of information which made the trip very interesting. Pick up was at 1.30pm as the national park is only open to visitors in the afternoon. The drive was around 50 miles or so. Once there, we swapped into an open truck, just the two of us in our party along with Mr Bow and the guide from the park. We stopped at each of the viewing stations. In total, we saw 14 elephants. We also saw hornbills. The national park is expansive and the scenery is beautiful. After the national park we drove back to Hua Hin, stopping on the way for dinner at a Thai restaurant. The food was really good and ready for us when we arrived. The food was included in the price, we ordered a large Chang each and that was 120 baht for the two.
You might pay a bit more for this trip than some others but the comfort of the transport, the knowledge of the guide and the Thai food on the return journey really make it worthwhile. Communication was very good, we were picked up as promised and in good time. I would definitely recommend this trip.

This was a really special trip. We were picked up from our hotel in a comfortable van by our driver Mr. Yonk. The drive to the park was easy and pleasant, and then we transferred to an open safari truck to drive through the park. It was very quiet in the park the day we visited - hardly any visitors at all.
Looking at previous reviews, and based on my own experience of wildlife safaris in Africa, it's clear that you need a moderate slice of luck to be able to see the elephants - after all they are wild animals living in a big national park not a zoo enclosure - but the success rate seems to be pretty high overall.
And we got really lucky. The first indication that we would have a lucky day was almost as soon as we entered the park we saw a great many hornbills flying overhead and through the trees. Apparently this is quite unusual - they are more usually seen later in the day, on leaving the park. We also saw other beautiful birds, such as a kingfisher.
Within a few minutes we caught our first glimpses of a group of elephants, and as we tracked them we eventually ended up in the perfect spot, where we were able to exit the vehicle and view them pretty close-up on foot for at least 30 minutes. The landscape in the park is truly spectacular, and even though I've been lucky enough to see elephants in Africa up close many times, this was a uniquely beautiful experience that I won't forget, seeing these majestic and serene animals in this paradise.
We also saw large numbers of gaur, which are also majestic and fascinating animals in their own right, but the elephants are certainly the stars of the show here.
This was a really memorable trip that exceeded expectations.
We also hired the same company to take us on a long excursion from our hotel on check-out day to Ayutthaya, and then onwards to the airport. Again they were outstanding with kind and professional service. Mr Yonk also took lots of photos on both days - both with my camera for family group shots, and with his own phone, which he shared with me afterwards. He really helped me get a great collection of memorable images from the two days.

Take this tour if you are happy to risk seeing nothing, no animals at all.
The guide was nice, car was clean but we and about 10 other cars we passed saw no elephants on our day.
I wouldn't recommend for small children, they take you to a cliff look out, with beautiful views to look out for an hour but had no guide rail. No safe for little children, lots of ants and bee's.
The service and people were great, you just need to be happy with the possibility of seeing nothing like us and many others.

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that the tour was disappointing for you due to not seeing the elephants. As mentioned in the program, the chance to see elephants is about 95%, but they are wild animals, and it's not the same as visiting a zoo where animals are behind bars. We have had many groups, including children, who were very happy to see elephants in the wild. Anyway, thank you for booking with us.

I went on this trip knowing I may not see elephants as I wanted to see them in their natural habitat and that's the risk you take. Both the driver and guide were amazing, my husband was ill and couldn't go but they looked after me so well. Making stops to show me pineapple plantations along the way. Once there, we swapped to an open truck. The guides at the elephant sanctuary accompanied you but dont speak English, so having a guide who interpreted and was quick to show me other wild life was amazing. The area is beautiful and worth the trip it's self, but both guides worked together to get you quickly to where elephants have been seen, I was lucky enough to see twenty in total. This was an amazing trip made better by the care provided by my guide and driver. I would recommend and will return hopefully with husband this time

Overall a bit disappointing. Whilst we appreciate that seeing elephants was not guaranteed, we felt on this occasion that not enough contact was made through the walkie talkies to drivers had to help us see elephants. We saw a very small group from a long way off. Unfortunately our bigger gripe was about the meal, which was at a roadside restaurant on the way back to hua hin. It was very noisy with trucks thundering past and honking horns. The food was not great - rather uneventful and despite saying I was vegetarian from the start there really wasn't an alternative, e.g. no alternative soup as it had chicken in it, I was told I could take the chicken out!! Omelette instead of a lovely looking stir fry. We have had amazing food since we have been here in Thailand even on the day trips so we were very disappointed by this meal. The guide didn't really get the fact that we couldn't hear her when we were in the minibus, I was three rows back and didn't get any of what she said. So we arrived none the wiser. We saw no other wildlife apart from the couple of distant elephants. All in all a very disappointing trip and more so as it was the one I was really looking forward to. At ÂŁ65 per person we felt this was very poor value for money.

I'm sorry you didn't like the tour. Unfortunately, in the wildlife park, it is also fortunate to see the wild animals in their wilderness. Sometimes you only see small groups sometimes large groups of elephants. Unfortunately, we as organizers but also the rangers in the national park have no influence on this. It is not a zoo where the animals are kept behind bars so that you can see them up close. Because of the dinners I will look around with my tour guide for different restaurants, which is not easy because sometimes up to 10 groups want to eat at the same time. We had 5 different groups in the national park that day, but they were happy with the food and also with the tour. Thank you for booking with us

Our guide was very knowledgeable about Kui Buri and the Animals and about the running of the National Park and spoke good English. The Tour was well organised and we saw many elephants and other animals. The national park staff made every effort to show us the animals and it was good to see that the elephants did not seem to be disturbed by us as an elephant calf ( 2 month old) was suckling from mum very close by for quite some time. Fingers crossed it will rain soon as the water in the park looks to be becoming scarce….

Pick-up from our hotel, punctual, the guide spoke English and after about 1h30 by car we arrived at the national park where we boarded a park 4x4. There are 3 observation points where we only saw buffaloes, then after 45 minutes of waiting at point 3, the 4x4 radio crackled to announce a herd (around fifteen elephants) at point 1. We We were able to observe them for around 45min. Return to Hua Hin and car and stop at a restaurant where we ate very well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The countryside was beautiful. We were lucky enough to see a lone bull elephant in one location, and a couple of gaurs, and then a herd of eight or nine elephants at the edge of the forest, including a couple of youngsters. With the binoculars we were lent we were able to watch them munching grass and leaves for about half an hour before they wandered off back into the forest. At our final stop in the park we saw a variety of birds.
The car we travelled to the park in was very comfortable, and our driver/guide was lovely.

Our friendly and knowledgeable guide Bom picked us up from our hotel in a comfortable air conditioned van in the early afternoon.
It took a bit over an hour to get to the National Park, and during this time Bom pointed out many interesting things along the way and offered great commentary.
Once we arrived at the park we switch to the back of a 4x4 with Bom and a local guide.
We saw lots of gaur, a fox, and after much searching a small herd of elephants which was very exciting.
On the way home we stopped at a nice roadside restaurant for an enjoyable meal.
Overall it was a great day with memories we will cherish.
PS - we were also very fortunate to see a big cat - see pic below!
