- Natalie Marie C0 contributions10/10A beautiful day, a variety of different temples. Our guide, Jenny, couldn’t have been better. She was so passionate, knowledgeable and funny. She went above and beyond, showing us not only the temples, but teaching us about Buddhism, answering all of our questions, and taking us to sample some Thai street food along the way! 10/10Written October 29, 2024

- Kevin W0 contributionsKhoa Sok National Park Overnight treehouse trip.Khoa Sok National Park Overnight treehouse trip. Our guide Mike, was excellent, made us feel welcome from the moment we were picked up. Although English is not his 1st language, he was excellent and very informative. The Elephant sanctuary was excellent, not rushed and plenty of time with the animals. The treehouse hotel was also excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed it, we did unfortunately have a very "awkward" guest who refused to listen to any of the information given by Mike and complained about everything from where she sat in the van, being really tired because she had to take sickness pills to go on a boat, and no vegetarian food, although she clearly said she had no food issues. We were all told at the evening meal we should be ready to leave at 8.30 in the morning, she asked what was the latest she could have breakfast as 8.30 was very early. She wasn't ready and then said she hadn't been told. She then didn't want to go on the hike. Made it uncomfortable for all. Mike dealt with it very well and continued to be professional.Written October 20, 2024
- wat2w0 contributionsAmazing elephant experienceWe went on the elephant bathing tour with a guide called Izzy who was amazing! She shared interesting information on the way, and it was evident she had lots of love for the elephants. The Phang nga elephant park was such a great experience, being able to feed and bath with these wonderful animals was second to none. The carers had great connections with their elephant friends and you could tell the animals were cared for. Would recommend this to everyone, including children! This is a smaller private tour and worth the money. They offer guides that speak different languages also.Written October 15, 2024
- lod5960 contributionsHalf day tour to the elephant sanctuaryWe went on a tour to feed and bathe with the elephants. Our guide Jenny spoke excellent English, was very informative and friendly. The whole tour was run really well, we were very impressed. The elephant sanctuary looked after its elephants and was a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!Written October 8, 2024
- S8085KHangelah0 contributionsWowWhat amazing trip , our Guide was fantastic and couldn’t do enough to make sure we were happy . Our accommodations was a bamboo hut on the lake which wasn’t what we expected but which added to the experience . The driver of the longboat was amazing knowing all the nooks and crannies of the lake navigated perfectly even in the dark with only head torch . We saw lots of monkeys , otters deer , a few iguanas, one of which ran up the beach as we approached which was just like watching a David Attenborough documentary. We thought the big animals had avoided us but on way back on day 2 we spotted an elephant. Wow! What a treat and he wasn’t bothered by us watching him take a mud bath so we sat and watched quietly taking lots of pictures. I cannot express how magical this trip was and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to see the real Thailand and its habitants. U will definitely need long trousers or long socks and shorts and a really good mosquito and leach spray for your trek in the jungleWritten September 11, 2024
- ljhillier0 contributionsAn unforgettable dayWe did the Khao Lak Adventure. White water rafting, waterfall, quad biking and zip line. It was incredible. A real experience in the depths of the jungle. Nares was an incredible tour guide. So much fun, we were very well looked after. Thank you!Written September 6, 2024
- hirok8280 contributionsElephant welfare centre visit (morning)We did the visit to Elephant Welfare Centre through our hotel with this company. It was 2900 bht to go and I love elephants so was very much hoping it would be a good place for them. I've written a more extensive review but TL;DR it was okay. The centre is (currently) Phang Nga Elephant Park which I wouldn't exactly call a sanctuary but they are taking decent care of the elephants. You get to feed them some fruit snacks and take a bath with them with their Mahout accompanying them the whole time (the handler who is the only person they really trust and listen to). That place is currently under construction and we were only there for 90 mins (which was quite short for the price tbh) so it's a bit hard to make a good judgement but overall they seem happy enough, well fed and no chains or hitting or riding. Mahout usually gives verbal instructions, uses the rope or maybe tugs the ear (not as keen on this but I can't suggest what else they'd do to be fair and it's much better than the alternatives people use). Seems they have been trained somewhat to follow instructions and listen to their Mahour. Not sure about the small enclosures but we were told it's for sleep and could also be to protect them from wandering into the construction and roads. Big park with lots of natural scenery so hopefully they get to walk around that Was sceptical from reading reviews, from what I gather it was formerly not good for the elephants with rising etc. HOWEVER they have taken the feedback from customers about ethical treatment and have responded correctly by stopping these practices and caring for the elephants they had better with plenty of food, baths and pets. Still work to be done but they seem to be continuing to work to improve which is good.Written September 1, 2024

- craigsM3500BW0 contributionsGreat great fun amazing and interesting dayElephant safari with lunch this was so much better than it already sounds, packed day full of great experiences, friendly, funny knowledgeable guide ( mike) and great driver, plenty of water and soft drink provided throughout, great meal, rafting was fun with beautiful scenery, temples where great too, mike answers any questions you have about anything you see, feeding and bathing elephants was amazing, turtles where good too, and learning about the tsunami was a great insight of a horrible past which thankfully this fantastic place has recovered from. if I could give the tour 10 stars I would .Written August 3, 2024

- 249ianh0 contributionsFrom Buddhist temple to Sea Turtles, from Bamboo River Raft To Tsunami Memorial and beautiful Waterfalls. We saw it all!We booked this All Day Khao Lak Expedition tour through the tour desk at our resort and was not disappointed. We were picked up on time by our tour guide Red and driver Bird. We were picked up in a comfortbale clean van and taken out to the Wat Lak Kaen Buddhist Temple , Then we headed to the Sea Turtle Conservation and rehabilitation centre, Lam Kaen. From there we headed to Poseidon Beach for a walk or swim then refreshments at By Leo Beach Cafe. From here we then went to Bamboo Rafting & ATV Somnuek Travel khaolak Phang Nga for a river raft ride along the Lam Ru Yai River where we passed under several snakes sunning themselves in the trees. It wasn't until we were almost finished that our River guide told us "No green one Python No venomous Black & Yellow very venomous bite hospital very quick or no good!!" Gee thanks could you not take us directly under them🤣🤣. After the river ride it was lunchtime at a local restaurant for a variety of Thai dishes, chicken, beef and prawn. After lunch we headed to the Tsunami Police Boat Memorial site. This is where a police boat that was anchored a nautical mile offshore was picked up by the Tsunami wave and dumped 2 km inland where when the water started to subside and show the absolute destruction it had caused the boat was left on a pile of rubble and mud. Too big and too damaged to extract and get back to water it has been turned into a memorial and a reminder of that fateful day. Very moving and eye opening experience. After this we got into a 4WD and headed into the mountain jungles. The 4WD was not the one in the tour pictures when booking and was not exactly comfortable on the lumpy bumpy tracks. we then commenced a short walk 25mins up a steep path to a magnificent waterfall which you could swim at the bottom of and take some fantastic photos. the same walk back to 4WD then transferred back into the comfortable van for a nice trip back to the resort for another swim 5pm 32° and 95% humidity!! All in all a great day. Thanks Red & Bird. ***Make sure you take wet shoes and bathers.Written July 29, 2024
- Projectitis0 contributionsBeautiful temples and lunchWe enjoyed a relaxed day visiting a variety of temples and learning about Thai culture and (recent) history, and a little about Buddhism and practicing religion in Thailand. The roads up to the mountain temples are windy, but our driver was very careful. The van was air conditioned and comfortable, and we were supplied with water, soft drinks and wet wipes. Lunch at the river restaurant was amazing. A great location and good food. Our guide, Gift, was friendly and very knowledgeable, and also took fantastic family photos for our tour group. We are a family with two teens (11 and 14) but there were older people on our tour (60s?) and the terrain and stairs were suitable for them as well.Written July 20, 2024

- markie420 contributionsGreat day outWe were picked up on time, in fact 10 minutes early which was good. The guide Aris was very informative throughout the whole trip, and very friendly. Our driver Mr Biy was a good driver and was as careful as he could be. The off road part is a bit bumpy, but I have 2 titanium rods on my spine and survived, so couldn't have been that bad. ( they do ask anyone if they have back issues before the start). The waterfall part is quite demanding with a steep walk down an uneven track, and the return trip will test the unfit. But the waterfall is cool and refreshing to have a dip in. The stop for food was good also, you even get an ice cream. Drinks were freely available all day coke or water which was needed frequently. After a stop at the temple, we were taken canoeing, and each canoe had a guide. They took us through the mangroves, and we saw a troop of monkeys which was great, us watching them watching us. This trip is well worth the money. We have been on quite a lot and this is up near the top for value for money.Written May 15, 2024

JayJay and her colleagues were so helpful. Smoothest and safest snorkeling trip we've done yet inThailand. Flippers masks and pipes provided for everyone if needed, hot drink and snack very welcome after first snorkeling stop. Beautiful beach stop for lunch. Waters were so clear and sealife abundant! Also the best coral we've seen so far. Grey reef sharks seen. Cannot recommend enough.

We wanted to travel on the catamaran as reading the other reviews the speedboats were noisy and uncomfortable, as we were near the back it was still noisy, it was also a 0500 pick-up time, despite this it was a fantastic day, staff, food and snorkeling was amazing, I tried using the supplied fins but they gave me leg cramps so swam without them after, I have some excellent Gopro footage and hopefully my underwater camera will have pictures to be proud of, a must do trip.

I enjoyed an amazing day trip to Surin Island with Khao Lak Land Discovery.
The snorkeling stops were very beautiful. I saw so many different colourful fish and corals. Our guide was also very good. He gave us lots of information about the marine life of South-east Asia and with the help of pictures we could check what kind of fish and corals we have seen.
Another highlight was the lunch at a wonderful beach. I have never seen such a crystal clear water before.
I can definitely recommend this trip!
