Only book with this company if you want a nightmare in your holiday. We booked a day trip to kilimanjaro using Machame route and this was our horror story: The driver and guide were totally unprepared and picked us up in arusha, shortly after we ran out of fuel as they had forgotten to tank and had to send someone to get fuel by foot.. followed by a tire adjustment , alunch pickup that they had not arranged prior to be ready, and 2 speeding tickets due to the reckless driving trying to recover time, the original 2h drive to kilimanjaro took actually 4h, arriving late to start the hike. For our surprise we got to marangu gate rather than machame, getting a totally different tour that the one advertised, meaning no scenic route like advertised and getting a tour that is cheaper with other providers..without prior alignment of this change. Once there, thinking the nightmare was over, we went up the first base with a guide who did not speak a single world nor guided us on the way, you are better off alone! Yet the worst part is once we started to head back down and it started to rain.. it was pouring, making the roads in the mountain totally muddy and slippery, so we wanted to wait a bit till it was less rainy and safe, yet the guide (Chris) insisted we could not wait as we needed to get to the gate before 6pm as otherwise they would had been charged an extra fee (when for starters we arrived late due to their lack of preparation).. this made us risk our safety and go down the slope totally puring, which ended in us falling several times and all our belongings/electronics getting damaged. Only book with them if you want a terrible operator that does not care about your safety, please do yourself a favour and look for another operator as there is many available with the same rates , dont put at risk your safety.

A well coordinated and responsive team at Moorland safari for my one day Kilimanjaro hike. Nasir was communicative ahead of time with me for logistics, picked me up bright and early from Arusha and introduced me to Chris, who was my guide on the mountain. Hiking mt Kilimanjaro is down to a science and Nasir and Chris have mastered it. Chris seemed to know most all the porters on the trail, knew the times to get to the mountain to avoid the crowds and was very positive in reassuring me on the 16+km hike. I was pleased with how quickly we summited Madara Hut even though it’s the most elevation I’ve ever done… even more than some Grand Canyon hikes. It helps that you’re surrounded by all this beauty, can hear Chris’s stories about taking other travels and are surrounded by two types of monkeys and lots of bird sounds. Enjoy the hike & don’t forget to pack layers, SPF, and good shoes for those muddy pockets during raining season. When you’ve summited, be sure to spend some extra time with your picnic lunch exploring the Madara hut area, monkey hunting, raven watching and people exploring. The team at Moorland will ensure you have a great day!

Totally amazing from start to finish. Nasr picked us up from airport and our adventure started from then. We then met the wonderful, knowledgeable and articulate Ben, our guide for the hike to catch the sunset. We had so much fun, navigating the climb and the view at the summit was well worth the climb. It is dusty but that was all part of the fun! The bbq dinner was lovely and was a perfect end to a wonderful day. Thank you Nasr and Ben, as you really cared about us having the best tour. You went over and above to deliver a worthwhile and reasonably priced tour.
