My boyfriend and I came across Emmanuel and Mussa through a friend’s recommendation, and couldn’t have been more fortunate!
We completed the Machame Route over 7 days with the amazing support of our guides and the Foothillsofkili team, who took incredible care of us. Food was always amazing and more than enough, the team (special thanks to Lupa!) made the camping experience more than comfortable, and the lead guides Emma & Mussa made sure our bodies were acclimatizing and we had all the necessary mountain equipment. Reaching Uhuru Peak was an unreal experience, all thanks to Foothillsofkili who kept us motivated and pushed us through the long night.
The team they built is very well integrated and experienced working together and feels more like a family - not the case for many other companies and operators. Most important, it always felt like we were going up as one team rather than as clients.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Foothillsofkili to anyone considering climbing Mt Kilimanjaro, especially as a couple like us. While the company is relatively new, the team has plenty of experience and will go beyond any expectation.

Life changing experience, couldn't have been a better trip, enormous thanks to the boss, Emmanuel guide and the whole team at Foothillsofkili! We did the Machame route in 7 days. Foothillsofkili sorted a team of 11 people including guides, chef and porters as well as a lovely logde for accommodation on the first and last night and airport transfers. Foothillsofkili manager came to meet us at the lodge when we arrived and again after our trek - he's a great guy and gives a very personal experience. We felt incredibly well looked after for the whole trip. Foothillsofkili is definitely the operator to go with, in terms of food, tents and guides I often got the impression we had better than others on the mountain. We loved the way everything was run, thank you!

I love Emmanuel and his team! From beginning to end, I was treating well and the expierence was made fuller through the interaction of them. Emmanuel was knowledgeable, entertaining, compassionate, helpful, and engaging throughout the entire hike. He answered all of my questions throughly. His team helped me as a solo traveler to feel included and they helped me when I struggled to motivate and encourage. I also used Foothillsofkili to arrange for Safari and time in Zanibar and they were helpful even with extra atm stops and covid testing plans. I met several other hikers who spoke about their choices and Emmanuel with his team were by far the best after hearing them! Local guys who have excellent service and will make your dream come true!

I did the 7 Day Machame Trek and 4 Day Safari with Foothillsofkili. The staff was great and very hard working. The food is more than you can ask for and kept us well fueled. Everyday the porters would pass us up and setup our camps. The journey was tough but not impossible. With the positivity of Foothillsofkili guides and staff they really helped to push us to the summit. Summit day was definitely hard but make sure you train and prepare for the long hiking night and day. It was definitely exhausting. 4 day safari was great as we were able to see the big 5 game animals. Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti were great animal habitats and truly amazing. Foothillsofkili staff was great and it was nice to support the local people. They attended to all of our needs and the trip was as described. Thank you to Emma for they took care of all the details. High recommend when climbing Kili or if you want to go on a Safari!

Foothillsofkili staff did a fantastic work during the 6-day Machame route. The precious support of the porters, the delicacy of the food and the attention of Lupa every day must be praised.
Thanks to Emmanuel and Moses, for their professionalism, friendliness and patience. They gave a master class in all senses. They were the responsible not only for me to safely get to the summit but also complete the way down to the camp. I will always be thankful for that.
Definitely, the best asset of Foothillsofkili is the people, who made the experience very enriching.

Highly recommend Emmanuel and his team. They were very professional and made sure we were successful in summiting. They always knew how to encourage and help each hiker the whole time. They are very knowledgeable about the mountain and everything on it. The experience was once in a lifetime and I was so glad to have the guides and porters that I did. It was an amazing experience! By the time the journey is over, you will all be like family and the goodbyes will be hard.

Amazing experience!!!!the team was so good. Se felt so confortable, they take care of us all the time. Emmanuel is the BEST guide you can find in Kilimanjaro,our chef was so great we ate a lot. The Porters were so friendly and always help us. I recommend 100%

Emanuel and Mussa were incredibly professional leaders and they put together a stellar team. We were well taken care of the entire time and it felt more like we were adventuring with friends than with a tour company. By the end of the trip it was difficult to even say goodbye as we had grown so close to the team. Anyone that has the chance to spend a week with this team would be lucky to do so and would surely remember the experience for a lifetime.

I would not climb Kilimanjaro with anyone else. You made the experience so special because of your kindness, your support, and the family we joined with your team. I loved learning from you (you are so knowledgeable about the history and diverse cultures of Tanzania) and hiking beside you through the rain, heat, and snow. You prepared us for everything, so no challenge was too daunting. I also have to thank you for your professional photography skills because of which this trip will be forever documented. Ema and Moses, I look forward to our future adventures for this is certainly just the first.

Truly an incredible tour. We hiked Kili with Emmanuel and Moses as our guides. They are simply incredible people who will motivate and inspire you the entire way. Our porters were also such kind, hard working people. If I could give this group 6 stars I would!
