For our honeymoon, we booked a 5-day lodge group safari visiting Tarangire, Ndutu, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater with our guide Simon. We couldn't have asked for a better guide - Simon was extremely knowledgeable and was always happy to answer any questions we had. He tried his best to make sure we saw every animal that we wanted to and we were lucky enough to see the big 5. There were some difficult driving situations, including an issue with the car, and a river flooding stopping us from getting to our lodge, but Simon was very professional and we always felt as though we were in safe hands even when it was a bit bumpy! Simon was very friendly and funny and his enthusiasm for the wildlife and landscape made it even more enjoyable for us. Our food, cooked by Geodfrey, was also excellent.

The lodges were all fantastic, especially the Serena Lodge at Ngorongoro Crater which had the most beautiful views from our room. It was also an amazing experience sleeping in our tented lodge in the Serengeti - something that we will never forget.

The whole experience with Safari Soles Tours has been fantastic from start to finish. Bryson was our contact and he was always very quick to reply to my many emails and questions. He was very patient with us especially as we were unsure for months whether we would be able to book due to COVID restrictions in our country. The great customer service didn't stop after we had booked, with Bryson helping us exchange money on our first day in Arusha after we had left our passports in the hotel. After the safari my husband and I travelled to Zanzibar, and Bryson very kindly organised airport transfers and luggage storage for us when we arrived back in Arusha which took a lot of stress off us.

The two drivers we had (can't remember their names) were also really friendly and were always giving us information and pointing out interesting things for us to look at.

This was our first time in Africa and the team at Safari Soles Tours made sure it was an unforgettable trip for us. Everyone we encountered was really friendly and happy to help and we are already looking forward to booking our next trip to Africa. I would definitely recommend Safari Soles Tours to anyone visiting Tanzania.

We have 5 days safari and visited Lake Manyara, Serengeti national park and Ngorongoro park. Our guide Lucas was realy kind person, and did his best to make our trip awesome. He told us a lot of stories about animals, how they live, and also about Tanzania. Comunication with tour operator Bryson was realy easy, we get answers very fast, spend our nights in even better hotels than we were desided. Highly recomend!

We had wonderful 5 days safari tour with Safari soles! I wrote to 6 different company's reading reviews on TA. Bryson responded very quickly and answered all my questions, moreover, the offer he sent seemed the most acceptable, though not the cheapest. All communication before travel was smooth and clear. Asante sana Bryson!
We had the best safari guide ever David Simba, he is very knowledgeable and experienced, gave us so much useful information not only about animals but also about nature, local people and traditions. He spotted all the animals there were possible to see - we didn't miss anything. David seemed tireless and thanks to him and our wonderful group we had days full of amazing views, useful information, and laughter! And chef Dula kept our stomachs full with the most delicious dishes it's amazing how he could make all those wonders happen in campsite kitchen with just one small gas stove and grill charcoal! He really is "stomach engineer" as David called him :) Asante sana David and Dula, if we come again hope to see both of you!

We took a five night tour (2 nights at Fig Big Tree Lodge, 1 night at Doffa campsite, 1 night at Simba A campsite, and 1 night at Tumbili campsite). Altogether we were 3 pax. This was a first safari and visit to Tansania although we have previous experience on traveling and living in other parts of Africa.

Guides (we had two guides/drivers in the end) were really great, knew a lot about the environment. We also learned that there is a good collaboration among guides working for different companies which is great in many sense. Our chef and his cooking was very nice, and he was happy to take our wishes into account.

As we opted for quite an affordable tour, we were quite happy with the lodge. Simple but clean and very welcoming personnel. Doffa campsite was quite nice (expect basic facilities such as cold showers), not too crowded so no need to wait one's turn for the washrooms and shower. In Serengeti the campsite exceeded my expectations with quite new washrooms and a mess for cooking and dining. People were plenty but it was quite ok. The Simba A campsite on the other hand was pretty busy. I wonder how it would be like in the high season... So if you wish to opt for campsites with not too many people, maybe this is something to negotiate beforehand.

We were taking the trip in the beginning of Feb 2020 and the weather was and had been exceptionally rainy. Despite this, we were very happy and lucky to see many animals such as tree climbing lions and new born zebras, wildebeest etc. I think seeing the migration of wildebeests was one of the most impressive experiences. Nothing to complain in this sense.

The heavy rains meant that quite many roads were flooding and muddy. In Serengeti we got stuck (along with quite many other cars) for an hour or so which was no problem in the end as the guides worked hard and cooperated to pull cars out of the mud. However, the next day at Ngorongoro things got worse. We (again along with many other cars) got stuck for hours. Again drivers cooperated to pull each other out. But our car along with few others were so badly stuck that after four hours it started to seem impossible to get them out without more powerful assistance. We asked drivers about the plan B if cars remain stuck. "Sleep in the car as there is no assistance in the park as it is Sunday" was the answer. Well, we had not prepared for that in terms of water or food or any other items. We were quite surprised that there was no attempt to arrange ride out of the park for the tourists in the stuck cars as we were not too many (approx. 15-20 altogether) and there were other safari cars with free seats coming and going. It was only after we called the company office when arrangements started to get tourists out of the park before day light was gone.

I was prepared for delays and surprises but did not expect to confront a situation like this that we would be stuck for five hours in a place where other cars with empty seats were coming and going. Next time I would make sure I have plenty of snacks and water with me. I am also quite surprised that parks allow access on seven days a week although rescue services are not available at all times. Many of the stuck cars remained in the park for more than 24 hours we heard afterwards. Lack of assistance is not the tour operators fault but I think they should have a plan on how to get people out in case of trouble, or if that is not possible then always prepare for overnight stay in the car.

Having described the problem in such a length, I must say that in the end things turned out nicely for us. We got back to the lodge for the night and a new car and a guide was sent to us from Arusha for our last day. In the end overall experience was great and we are happy with the safari. It is difficult to decide how many points out of 5 I should give, 3 or 4. It would have been 5/5 if the we hadn't need to wait for five hours for a drive out of Ngorongoro. I decide 4 as there was not a real danger but more of an inconvenience.

Thank you very much Marja, we appreciate your review, we appreciate that you enjoyed every moment of the tour with only one unfortunate event of being stuck, i understand you were worried & frustrated, we apologize for that. with the situation of being stuck being unavoidable (having weather changes, then prolonged rains which were not expected of, getting stuck is just part of the package with the authenticity of our parks) we also like to inform the duty of rescue falls first to the park authorities whom we pay to mandatory rescue fees & have powerful equipment (caterpillar & excavators) to navigate the park in those conditions but do acknowledge that as the duty for rescue to us is by authorities, we do have our own plan b,s & rescue efforts which i believe at the moment were not communicated well by our guide to you, at the day we had another jeep in crater, that your guide wasn't aware of, that at the moment we were aware of your situation we informed the other guide to come to your rescue we also want to shed some light on these situations to future clients, the infrastructure at the parks is authentic the only rescue operators can afford is to send another jeep but with the roads conditions it is a gamble (as the other jeep can also get stuck on route), that's why it is always expected the authorities to use there powerful equipment to do rescue's Also the date of this experience over 10 jeeps (different companies) failed to check out the crater after efforts unstuck were to no avail, also a lot more jeeps got stuck but were lucky we also urge clients & all stakeholders how we do react to these situations impacts the decision of a long debate among stakeholders & the authorities of whether to keep park infrastructure authentic or to replace with more accessible infrastructure, which will negatively impact wildlife We close by saying we hope parks infrastructure will forever remain authentic henceforth the possibilities of getting stuck WELCOME AGAIN :)

Thanks to Safari soles tours we had the best safari-experience we could imagine!
On our 4-day safari we visited Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, we saw the big five and everything was best organized.
In the planning phase we had very good contact with bryson by email, he provided correct info about price, quality and possibilities for the accomodations and together we designed our perfect safari.
Special thanks also to our driver/guide david, his very good driving and exellent knowledge of the wildlife made our stay and tour more than memorable!!!
Imagine, a tastefull lunch with a good glass of wine in the middle of the Serengeti....we will never forget...
Thank you so much for everything!!
