About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Journey278676074740 contributionsWorst safari guide everA potential unique memory destroyed by a poor guide. His name? Derrick. He didn't respect the money that we 've paid for an once in a lifetime experience. We 've booked a 4 days safari (Tarangire-Serengeti-Ngorongoro) with Travel Africa safari agency. Jackline was perfect in communicating and organising the safari with me. Perfect was also Joel, a guide with whom we had a daily tour in Materuni waterfalls the day before the safari. But the next day the negatives started. Derrick our safari guide introduced himself, stated that his tips are 10$ pp per day, like that was obligatory and then left to the "bathroom" for 25-30 minutes. Where i come from, you earn your tips, you don't demand them. At the 1st, 3rd and 4th day he was mostly talking on his phone or texting and as a result he was driving slowly (while talking or texting) and not trying to spot animals for us, not trying to get us a nice close view in the animals that we spotted, didn't explain something about the animals and generally didn't care about us having a nice safari. Only the 2nd day, after some complains to one of his colleagues, he was really good.. But that lasted 1 day. After the 3rd day, i 've read all 2024 reviews no one mentions him as a good guide. They all mention other guides. At least the jeep was in a good condition. Thank you Travel Africa for choosing Derrick as our guide for us and ruining our safari time. I have to admit the personnel from the office did their best in order to change some bad accomodations that they 've booked for us (Senator hotel and Fig big tree), but unfortunately this can't get us back those days. So to all tourists, either choose another office for your safari or ask not to have Derrick as your safari guide but one who will respect your money and time.Written August 9, 2024
- Rosewooder0 contributionsNKOLLO TOURS & SAFARISBest tour guide ever! Make sure you ask for JOEL. Very knowledgeable of Arusha, waterfalls, Kilimanjaro & thermal waters! Great personality. Started at 8 am. Ended at 7 pm. Full day but very worth it! The hike to see the waterfalls is so worth it. Just beautiful !!! See pics below.Written August 4, 2024
- tiffsmile0 contributionsAfrican SafariI had an amazing time. Our guide Joseph was absolutely amazing! He was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. I don’t think there is anybody I would have felt safer with. He made sure we were taken care of and always made sure we had a good view of the animals. The others guides were also always friendly and helpful. Simba our chef was so nice and provided fabulous food. He always made sure our needs were met. So glad we went with this company!!Written July 22, 2024
- Abigail C0 contributionsThank you!Had an amazing time on a 4 day, 3 night safari with Travel Africa. Assad and Omar (our guides) were very informative about animals, national parks and Tanzania. I would highly recommend these tour guides and this company. We saw the big 5 and so many more animals!Written July 16, 2024
- charleypixierodgers0 contributionsAn unforgettable experienceThe most breathtaking experience doing the 4 day safari with Omar and Assad! I cannot rate them high enough their knowledge of the parks and animals is amazing and they are very accommodating ensuring all 8 of us had an incredible time. We saw all of the big 5, and they got involved with jokes and photos, making memories of a lifetime. They were both incredible at spotting the animals, even when they seemed impossible to find! The food at camps and during the day was cooked by Simba and he provided such a variety of delicious food! Would highly recommend booking with them and thank you so much for an experience of a lifetime!Written July 16, 2024
- carolinebC8774HZ0 contributionsgreat experienceOur guides Omar and Assad were great. We saw all of the big 5 during our safari, in particular, they drove far and wide to find the cheetah for us! They were knowledgeable and provided so much info to us during our drives. The food cooked for us by Simba was also lovely. Good value for money :)Written July 16, 2024

- 629ruhaang0 contributionsSafari AgencyAmazing Experience! Definitely made this once in a lifetime opportunity as special as possible. Our guides Omary and Aaron were amazing guides and spotted and took us to the best spots possible. We only saw all the animals possible because of them, and trust me, you do not want to miss out on choosing this agency. Thanks you for this awesome experience!Written July 6, 2024
- Inspire446736106440 contributionsJoel is a legend!!!The guide who picked us up, Joel, was a legend! Super friendly, very informative and relaxed. He took us to the Waterfall where the entrance fee and guide fee was included in the price. The local guide from Mt. Meru however did try to say we still have to pay the guide fee. After we declined it was ok however, and Joel confirmed it was already included. The waterfalls and hike were great, afterwards Joel even helped me to get a local sim card. I would definitely recommend, but pay attention to what is and what isn’t included so you don’t get ripped off by someone.Written June 3, 2024
- R8735CYpauld0 contributionsBest Safari YetThis was my fourth Safari and it was hands down the best I’ve been on. Africa travel had everything so well organised and went above and beyond to accomodate my dietary requirements and travel arrangements. The food was incredible. Every meal was delicious and there was always so much food! Big shout out to Simba our chef. And to the star of the show, Asad. Thank you so much for being the most exceptional guide. You were so welcoming and knowledgeable, it was such a pleasure having you as our guide for the four days. Asante sana kakaWritten January 15, 2024
- maicaf0 contributionsExpensive prices for no good qualityWe hire a luxury tour . The firts two nights , yes we sleep in a nice places agree whith the price l paid , but the last night , they took us to a very simple hotel . I felt cheated , because what they charged us was price of luxe . They do the last night , when is dificult to change the things .Written January 6, 2024
- J398NPthomast0 contributionsGreat wildlife trip with amazing guides but a few improvements recommended!*** 3.5/5 *** stars with input from my Tanzanian girlfriend who came on the trip and could better judge quality and cost given her experience. We paid $3200 for 10 day trip (adding 1 day to the 9 day schedule) for 2 people which roughly comes to $160 per person a day - not including tips and outside purchases etc. Excellent pricing, especially compared to other tour companies, but some things were really low budget considering the relative cost of things in Tanzania. Pros: The drivers and guides are fantastic. Omary, our main safari driver for Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara, spotted the big 5 and so many other animals and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The time spent in the parks really got us close to nature and we will cherish the sights we saw forever. Seriously, amazing! I cant stress enough how great the tour package is to get the most sightseeing all in one trip. Few companies offer these extended torus and that is one of the primary reasons I went with Travel Africa Safari. My main organizer, Tunu, also deserves a shoutout for making this trip happen and customizing things for us. Cons: The trip was supposed to be 6 people max and instead it was 7. This meant the safari vehicle was very packed and we had almost no room given the extra luggage we had to carry which made for a cramped experience on most safari days. Some of accommodations selected are really barebones. Campsite Tumbili in Serengeti was really poor. I’ve camped extensively and this was a big letdown- no toilet paper, dirty bathrooms (4 toilets used by over 100 people) and packed campground meaning you will be woken up by other groups around 4-5am. I dont care for hot water or electricity but the bare minimum is clean facilities. Ngedere Lodge which is used for Lake Manyara and coming back from safari seems like it's not quite yet ready to host visitors. Electricity drops every time you try to turn on hot water and the walk to and from the rooms is far and not lit meaning you have to drag luggage in the dark after coming back from a safari. The cooks on this trip are hit or miss. Some of the food on the safari was great but other was so terrible, repetitive and low quality even my Tanzanian girlfriend shared my sentiment. (Example, a fruit salad mixing pineapple, mangoes with tomatoes and mayonnaise?? Or tilapia for 3 meals in a row..) Truly some of the worst food Ive had which is a shame given hot meals are some of the things you look forward to. All in all, I would redo this tour if the Travel Africa Safari can improve on these small things!Written January 4, 2024
- 217oluseyik0 contributions10/10 would recommendTravel Africa didn’t miss a beat. Everything was so well organised from our airport transfers, accomodation before and after the Safari and everything whilst on the safari. Our guide Asad was incredible. He was very knowledgeable and friendly and always willing to go the extra mile to find the best animals. We got to see the big five and so many other animals. Special shout out to our chef Simba who kept us well fed with delicious food, every single meal. I’ll be recommending Travel Africa, Asad and Simba to everyone I know! Thank you all so much for an unforgettable Safari.Written December 26, 2023
- M2471CPemmao0 contributionsBest travel experience! We had the most amazing days in three different national parks together with our professional guide Assad. We completed the big five and got the chance to see all our favourite animals at very close sight. These days became everything we dreamed about. Truly recommend this trip and our guide Assad! 🌟Written December 26, 2023
- marcuslZ5833RE0 contributionsAmazing and memorable 4 days tourA truly memorable 4 days tour with our amazing guide Assad. Every part of the experience was perfect. We will bring with us many memories. One favorite was definitely the early morning tour in Serengeti when Assad helped us to spot a majestic Leopard. All parts of the tour were planned very well. Can highly recommend.Written December 26, 2023

First of all our flight arrived late WITHOUT our luggage but Mohamed had it sorted. He had drivers there who were very helpful and helped us with the airport staff until our luggage arrived. But we're here to talk about the Safari to Ngorangora crater which blew me away.
I honestly was not prepared for how much it all moved me seeing animals in the wild. We saw:
- Gazelles
- Baboons
- Black rhino
- Were within shouting distance of a simba or Lion
- elephants
- Water buffalo
Our guide Aron was very knowledgable about the birdlife and very experienced. The scenery was stunning. I will recommend this to everyone I meet.

2 days safari with the worst experience.
Food was horrible. Camping was horrible and over charged. The guides (Frank and Omar) were not professional just a joker no knowledge of the park and with a quick view of animals. They were more in a hurry and busy speaking with their friends. I won’t recommend this to anyone.
The worst is that the guide force you to stop by their friends shops

Bonjour
