    Fabulous experience
Zach was a truly top guy pointing out all the spectacular wildlife and geography as we travelled on our adventure. His knowledge, experience, and skills made the holiday totally unforgettable. Thanks, Zach, that was totally awesome.

Great one in a lifetime experience
Before arriving in Tanzania, I was in contact with Almachius - super friendly and accommodating ! A great professional ! At my arrival, I have joined a group of 4 other people - 1 family and a solo traveler ! It was the best safari trip I have ever done ! We got so much to see and even at the door of our jeep ! Our driver from another agency was just great and super knowledgeable ! It was a budget safari so we were sleeping in tents which got us to experience wildlife and be close to animals - fantastic ! On top of the Safari quality, the staff outside the safari are super friendly and helpful. I could only recommend this safari and Meru Slopes !

Lots of sitting in a car, but you will have a once in a lifetime experience
Salehe Mkwanda is a fantastic tour guide with Meru Slopes. He has over 12 years experience in the job and it shows in his enthusiasm and charismatic smile to give his clients the best time possible. We were able to see every animal imaginable while on safari and were able to get close enough to grab some fantastic photos. Salehe went above and beyond to ensure our happiness while navigating the complexities of driving a group tour around the Serengeti. 10/10 would recommend him as a tour guide.

    A dream come true!
My husband and I decided to go to Tanzania for our honeymoon and came across Meru Slopes online and we were so impressed by all the positive reviews that we booked with them. What an incredible decision that was! We decided to book the jeep for the two of us so we could customise the journey. Our guide for the five days was Douglas and we could not have asked for a more knowledgeable, kind and comforting presence. Douglas was such a joy to have around and was an expert at spotting animals in the distance (even without binoculars!). From day to day and park to park, every moment felt like a dream come true. I often look back at the photos of this trip and get emotional because I wish I could relive it! We are vegan and were worried about meals but Meru Slopes provided excellent nutritious warm meals every day and ensured our hotels would cater for us as well. We saw an abundance of giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, elephants, lions, cheetahs and even rhinos! Douglas was so patient and really took our interests to heart and focused on whatever it was that we wanted to see that day - namely big cats and birds for me! We awoke every day feeling like excited kids and what more can you ask for? We will be back! Thank you!

Meru Slopes will always be my choice
If you dont know which company to choose to do your safari, please read this review and all your doubts will be cleared. On the first place, you have to know that Geofrey, head of the company, will do his utmost in order to fulfill all your needs. Do not hesitate to ask him about whatever you may need to know cause he will be pleased to answer and give you all the information needed. In my case, due to last minute flight schedules changes, I had to change my whole trip and he gave me the solution right away without any issue. In a few minutes, after only a couple of messages, he had already arranged everythig and postponed my safari one day. He was very responsive and collaborative and I could feel that he was taking care of me and trying to provide the best service in spite of the mishap. My trip and my experience were in his hands and he mangaed in the best of the ways. Regarindg the safari, I picked the 6 days (5 nights) choice and it was simply amazing. It is hard for me to find the right words to express what I felt during those days. Nature is amazing and all the spots were really beautiful and we got to see plenty of animals. I think the most important element when going in a safari is your guide, and we were incredibly lucky having Florian with us. He knows Serengeti like the back of his hand! It is incredible to see him navigating around the place following his experience, his knowledge and his insticts. He makes you feel you are in good hands and safe, and he brought us to the best and coolest spots in the area. In my case, he did all he could to get us to see as many animals as possible. He was very calm, handling in a relaxed way all kinds of situations, providing lots of info about the animals, their behaviour and many curiosities about nature and wildlife. You have to leave books behind and concentrate on what your guide tells you. He knows more than any enciclopedia, so feel free to ask him whatever you want to know during your safari. And of course, without his eyes we couldn't have probably seen anything! Believe me, it is not easy to spot them in the middle of the savannah. His driving was always very good, although the paths in nature are rough. He drove all the time in the most smooth possible way. He is a PROFESSIONAL, with big letters. His kindness and gentleness really got my heart. Another important element during these kind of adventures is the cook. In my case, Moshi was with us during the whole trip and he made the experience even better. He cooked delicious meals everyday, very varied and yummy. And besides his cooking skills, he made us feel as a team and he did a great work keeping all of us engaged and going in the same direction. He is very enthusiastic and positive and his joy is absolutely contagious. It was a pleasure to share time with him too and to have the chance to know more about gastronomy and Tanzanian cuisine. 10 points for Moshi! The camping supplies were also very good. The mat was pretty comfortable as it was a foam mat thick enough so you could not feel the ground. The sleeping bag provided was really warm; in the night it can be chilly and it was more than enough. Tents were also of good quality. When we were in Simba camp (Ngorongoro) it was rainy during the night and the tent was always dry and provided enough protection. So you don't have to be worried about being comfortable, dry and safe. We also stayed first and last night in Fanaka lodge and I can say it is a cool place. It is beautiful, peaceful and surrounded by nature. Rooms have a decent size, good and warm shower, comfy bed and they even have a swimming pool, so do not forget to bring your swimwear with you. The car was fully equipped and it felt always very safe. It looks quite new and very well-maintained. Seats were very confy and there are plugs in every seat, so you can charge your devices if needed, which I consider a very cool thing and almost indispensable nowadays. Each seat has a huge window, so you will not miss anything! And the top can be opened as well,so you can have an even better look around and it is perfect if you like taking pictures. I also stayed in the accommodation offered and owned by Meru Slopes in Arusha and it is highly recommended. Location is ideal, so it will take you just 15 minutes to the clock tower and Masaai market, 5 minutes to the main market, supermarket is a few steps away and there are plenty of shops and services just downstairs. Rooms are spatious and clean, bed with mosquito net, shower is warm and all elements in the room and bathroom are working well. Meru Slopes makes a really good job and the whole staff are professionals you can trust 100%. They are very engaged with their work and treatment is exquisite. Something very important for me as well is that it is a local company and their employees are locals too, and there is no one you can trust more than locals wherever you go. My general view: Value for money is guaranteed. My feelings: I did not have to worry about absolutely anything. I just got into the car and enjoyed my experience to the most. All of them, Geofrey, Emanuel, Moshi, Florian, treated me as family during the whole trip and made me feel at home, safe and integrated. I hope to have the chance to be back soon and I already know Meru Slopes will alaways be my choice.

Literally the best decision l've ever taken!
l was so hesitant to go on this tour that l spent months thinking about doing it solo. l had so many concerns about the Safari, l have alot of back issues and my flares up are frequent. But l dont easily give up l reached out to alot of agencies and none of them were as responsive and reassuring as Meru Slopes! All my questions were answered right away! l booked the 5 days tour ( Lake Manyara, Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorngoro Crater) and as l was heading to the airport l remember googling all parks and l found out that theres much to do in Lake Manyara during this time of the year and thank god the very first day of my Safari l remember the guide telling us that we will skip Lake Manyara and we will add an extra day in Serengeti which was a relief to hear if only l could go back in time l wouldve added more days to Serengeti, it was a delight! Our guide was lebulo who was an expert and had all the answers for all of our questions. He knew everything about the routes in the parks and all the shortcuts! Gudian was our chef for the safari and he was an excellent chef prepared for us a variety of delicious meals, by far the best avocado salad lve ever tasted! First day we headed to the Tarngire park, the ride was okay had an extra cushion for my back for extra support. We saw bunch of elephants, zebras, wildebeests, vultures and a sleeping lioness on the tree. We stayed in a lodge in a room which was much needed before our camping trip to Serengeti Second day we were off to the legendary Serengeti! The roads were a disaster it was honestly quite rough all roads were unpaved we approximately took 4-5 hours to get there. It was all worth it. The moment we drove inside the Sernegeti l knew l would have the time of my life. Camping was pretty tricky we were give a pillow, sleeping bag and a foam mattress. The washroom wasnt clean at all and lights were out the two days we stayed in. The stars were beautiful at night l could see the milkyway with my own naked eye. The highlight of my whole trip was sleeping in the tent and listening to all the wild animals hunting at night. Be prepared to fall asleep to all the nocturnal animals hunting and interacting. Hyenas were the most talkative at night and they are always getting interrupted by the rawring lions! Third day (which was the best) we headed to the Mara river to watch the wildbeests crossing and luck was by our side. We arrived right on time, all wildebeests just waiting we spent around 20 mins watching them wait, suddenly we could sense the tensions rising up and Lebulo knew what was happening next, he pulled over at the edge of the cliff to witness the first wildebeest stepping into the water. An epic experience that l will never forget. We've seen it all in the Serengeti, leopards, cheetahs, pride of lions, elephants, hippos, zebras, giraffes, cape buffalos and bunch of other animals. Fourth day was our last day in the Serenegti and we were off to Ngorngoro crater the ride was tough but not as long as the drive from Manyara to Serenegti. The simba campsite was so clean and pristine. Showers had warm water and were clean. Weather was a bit chilly and we always had guests coming to our camp. Everything was all well prepared, we were all being taken care of. Lebulo and Gedian went above and beyond to cater our needs. Thank you guys so much!!

My first but not last Safari <3
we've just arrived after one week travel to Tanzania, where we had an amazing 5 day safari tour provided by Meru Slopes. It took us several months to get there, but we've done it finally, yay! :)  First and foremost i'd like to say special thanks to Jacobo, our driver who literally made this safary for us. Driver is the main person in any safari - he is a driver, a technician(yes, safari "roads" are merciless to the vehicles), an animator, timekeeper and a guide in the world of nature. Every morning he met us being nice, fresh and ready for new day of adventures! Taking into account that you will have to spend a lot of time together, i'd say quite close - in one car, it is very important to be comfortable with each other, so Jacobo's light personality and responsible attitude made a lot for keeping tone of the trip without making it tough. Even our 3y.o. daughter enjoyed the safari! can you imagine toddler in the middle of "horrible 3" without tantrums?   Another thanks to Jeoffrey for organising good trip for really reasonable price and for his patience, because i've "planned" this trip long ago but started to plan safari itself almost last minute(two times, previous one been cancelled because of country of departure restrictions), having plenty of questions and clarifications :-D drivers and transfers been sharp in time(!!!), i haven't bothered with reminders and had no stressful situations with them! Also, our safari car had no any breakdowns during the trip and Jacobo maintained perfect condition (whatever was dependent on him). Maybe it's a luck as well, but nevertheless, thank you for keeping equipment in good shape in such harsh conditions(safari road is really far from Dubai highways in terms of smoothness, lol).   Can't say that i have to complain about anything, however there is always room for improvement: 1) Please check thoroghly eauipment of cars before the trip, in our car electricity got broken almost immediately because it wasn't stable as we've noticed that voltage shown instability from very beginning (we've tried to charge phone, thanks God it didn't burn, what i cannot say about wifi portable router). Driver tried his best to fix it, but this issue can be treated only in specialised garage. Not a big problem for us, we've been travelling with a powerbank. 2) Please consider replacement of Seronera Heritage Camp Lodge with better place. There are issues with cleaning, rooms conditions and dinner schedule (too late without options to start earlier even with kids, so we had no enough time to sleep and have rest after game drive).   Anyways, Meru Slopes team is very flexible and they can include any lodge/camp you will ask, where possible. Will i recommend Meru Slopes? Definitely yes!

Meru slopes for a(n at least) once in a lifetime experience!
On our 7 day safari we were joined with another couple and a solo traveler. Together with our guide/driver Nuru and cook/supplier Gadi, we formed a family for the trip. I can highly recommend doing a shared trip as it makes the game drives a more enjoyable time. Our driver has put in a huge effort towards showing us all we wanted to see and more. He really made our trip a huge success. Having seen all animals of the big 5, as well as so many others, from up close as well as far away, has made this a once in a lifetime experience. The overnight stays in the campsite were an adventure, and the stays in the hotel were luxurious. I would sincerely recommend Meru slopes to anyone who is looking for a well planned and exciting safari trip of multiple days and parks.

    A truly memorable trek!
Mount Meru gets overlooked in favour of Kilimanjaro, but - although lower - it offers wonderful wildlife sightings on the lower slopes on the mountains (giraffes, warthogs and bushbucks), and some challenging terrain near the peak (involving climbing over sharp rocks). Meru Slopes was really efficient and helpful in suggesting and itinerary and answering all my queries regarding the logistics - in particular, Kelvin Bonith was an excellent point of contact for me throughout the process. A highlight of my time in Tanzania!

    Once in a lifetime
This was an incredible experience, a big thank you to our guide, Salhe! We had such a great time. Salhe made sure that we were comfortable during our rides, and was really great at finding all the animals we were there to see - we saw the big 5, and almost every other animal one could hope to find, far beyond our expectations. Most importantly, he was really respectful of the animals, and as travelers who try to be conscious of nature we found that to be really important. He was really knowledgeable as well, and answered so many of our questions about the animals and Tanzania and its landscapes. The tour itself was really amazing as well - the accommodations were fantastic. Staying in the middle of the Serengeti for 2 nights was an experience we won't forget, but be aware that you might hear animals roaming freely at night :) The Rhino lodge was really unique as well, with zebras and waterbuck roaming in our back yard. The food was great everywhere we stopped and plentiful during lunch so you won't go hungry or thirsty either. All in all, we'd highly recommend this package (any fewer days would have been too few) and Salhe himself as your guide!

    Amazing trip
The safari with Meru Slopes was a great experience. Animals and landscape are stunning!! The five-day tour across Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro left little to be desired. The guide Andrew drove the jeep very safely and calmly through the roads of the Serengeti and was a pleasant guide. He spotted the animals immediately at long distances and told us interesting details about them, but also gave us the necessary peace and quiet to marvel at the natural wonders. The cook, Moshi, was always in a good mood and prepared delicious food. I missed more traditional Tanzanian food, but "tourist" food is probably part of the activity and important for other tourists. The tents were in very good condition, the sleeping bag warm and the mattress comfortable. The sanitary facilities were also good and very clean! Electricity in the car did not work, but there were always free sockets in the camp. The transportation back to Arusha worked perfectly and the driver was already waiting for us. What was missing: Toilet paper, or rather I hadn't thought to bring any with me.

    Amazing quality price choice! 🥰
We had an amazing experience of 4 days Safari and 1 day walking in a village Mto Wa Mbu with Meru Slopes Tours & Safaris. First day we went to Tarangire National park, second and Third Serengeti National Park and the fourth the Ngorongoro Crater. We really need to thank you all the staff members for all the good service, care and smiles given during our experience. Special thank you to Geofrey and to Almachius for the quickly response and for making sure we had the best time since day 1. As well to Robert our Guide for the excellent quality, happiness and knowledge of all the parks we have been to. And to our chef Dula that always make sure that we had an amazing food everyday! Final to our tour guide Priska for showing us how the community of Mto Wa bu lives! We really recommend this agency for your Safari experience for all happy moments you will get and for being a very good deal in terms of quality price 🥰

    Incredible, Unforgettable and Surreal
My friend and I booked a 7 day tour with Meruslopes touring Terengire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. Meruslopes was able to offer us the experience of a lifetime. This was my first time doing a safari trip and it was incredible. Our guide Robert and chef Yohana were so welcoming and accommodating throughout our trip. We were so blessed to have them throughout our journey, it only made the experience better. Robert is very experienced in his job and is able to spot these animals from miles away! They all respect the nature and the animals. With his incredible eyes we were able to see the Big Five. He was very professional and knowledgeable. Yohana cooked us some amazing food throughout our trip. We had freshly cooked food every day and we were able to enjoy this in some beautiful and scenic picnic spots. He went above and beyond with his cooking skills. Being a vegetarian, I did not struggle once, he would always cater to my needs. We were able to enjoy a mixture of cuisines and food that left us licking our fingers clean.  They were so flexible in changing our itinerary around when we wanted to do additional stuff such as cooking with our chef and learning how to cook the local food. We spent 4 nights camping throughout the safari tour, in the heart of these animals home we were able to experience the noises and presence of these beautiful animals. I would have never thought we would be sleeping surrounded by buffalos and zebras only a few feet away from our tents. Thank you Robert and Yohana for making our experience everything and more than we expected. We had so much fun during this tour. It's been an experience we will cherish for a lifetime. We would highly recommend Meruslopes to anyone looking for a fantastic safari experience. They definitely give a great value for money and an unforgettable experience.

Awesome experience! Everything went smooth, from our pickup at the airport to the amazing safari we did. Our chef Salim cooked very good tanzanian food in great quantity, and our guide Iddi was knowledgable, friendly and available. During the safari we got to see the amazing gnu migration through the river and a lioness hunting an impala from very close. We also had a nice bike tour in a local village during which we enjoyed a masai village and drunk banana beer and wine in a banana plantation; the lady guiding us during that tour was very nice too.
Strongly recommended!

We are so pleased that we chose Meru Slopes for our 6 day safari (Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara). We would highly recommend Meru Slopes to anyone else planning their safari, especially to support them as a local company (based in Arusha).

Jacob, our guide, was exceptional! Not only does he have endless knowledge about the local wildlife and environments (brilliant at answering my many questions!), he has such a great sense of humour, so we laughed a lot too on our 6 days together. He found out which animals we wanted to see most and really worked hard to find them for us. He is also a great mechanic, fixer and all round great guy - everybody knows and loves him!

We saw all the animals we wanted to see and more! We never imagined being able to see cheetahs so close, leopards in the distance, a serval, rhino, lots of hyenas, some jackals, mongoose, so many lions and huge groups of elephants, zebra, wildebeest, hippos, birds of prey, primates etc. We were very, very fortunate (especially to have such an amazing guide!)

Every lunchtime we were provided with a delicious Tanzanian cooked meal (much to the envy of most other tourists who were eating cold packed lunches!). The food was different everyday and we thoroughly enjoyed it! (A mixture of grilled meat, curries, rice, salads etc).

We stayed in lodges for 5 nights (plus 1 night before and 1 night after the safari in Arusha Planet Lodges included) and they were all excellent! The Serengeti stay (2 nights) was in a 'tented lodge' which we particularly enjoyed - being able to hear the wildlife (especially hyenas!) directly next to us while having the comfort of a bed & en-suite room was perfect! All of the accommodation was set in stunning surroundings with super friendly staff, which really added to the experience for us.

We wholeheartedly recommend Meru Slopes (and especially our guide Jacob!) for the most incredible Tanzanian safari experience. I'm just gutted our trip is over! Asante sana!

After long reserch I decide to buy safarii tour directly in local tour operator. I chose the Meru Slopes and agreed all the details online. We chose the most expensive version in Melia hotels. I was a littele afraid because I have to pay full price directly before tour. Everything was perfect and my warries was unjustified.

Accomodation was excelent. Plan of safari was perfect.

Our driver Amani did one's utmost. He is very nice person. He is proffesional, can manage any unexpected situation and has a sense of humour. He wanted and did everything to show us as much as possible. He has very good experience and knowledge where to go and what to do on safari. Every day car was clean and he was ready and smiling. We spent fantastic time with him.

I saw more then I expected. Nature and animals were incredible, beautiful and at our fingertips. Every day and every place was different and give us unexpected sensations.
Asante sana

We (family of 3, boy 17 years old) had a great safari experience organized by Geoffrey. He was great during the preparation of the trip, always available to discuss about the details of the safari and willing to welcome our requests. The safari experience itself was wonderful thanks to our great driver Patrick who did his best (with great success) to show us north Tanzania wildlife and landscapes. The tour cost was reasonable and we had great lodge accomodations. I believe we enjoy a very favorable value for money. I strong recommend Meru Slopes Tour for Safar in Tanzania. In our case we could not expect a better experience.

Those were the best 6 days of our lives! We saw a lot of animals, including cheetahs, leopards, rhinos and a lot more! We've also seen wildebeests crossing a river while migrating, monkeys steeling things from unprotected cars and also lions hunting! All of this was possible thanks to our guide and driver Jacob who drove us in the perfect spots and showed us animals that we would surely have missed. Our trip was perfectly organised, the food was very good and the lodges where we slept were amazing.

We genuinely recommend the trip, the company and the driver.

We went on a six days safari guided by Meru Slopes. We had such a good time. We were able to see the big five, mostly because of the experience of our driver Florian. He knows all the anwsers to our questions and explains a lot of the behavior of the animals.

On our last day we went to see the Kilimanjaro, went for a coffee tour and went to the hotsprings with our driver Nuru. He had a lot of knowledge about the Kilimanjaro and explains a lot about the culture and plants of the country. He was very eager to let us make a picture of thé Kilimanjaro, due to the clouds the whole day. All compliments to him!

The food was mostly local but our cook, Rasheed, made also european and vegetarian food.
The whole experience was great! We sleped in a lodge and in a tent. Sleeping in a tent is normally not a kinda thing we would do but we definitely recommended it. The animals walk close by and the tourguide will make sure that your feel safe.

We had a lovely 6 days safari. Our guide, Moedi, drove all the way to the Mara river near Kenia border to see the great migration. Totally worth the drive!
Also we had great food during our trip, lots of variation between vegetables, meat and side dishes.
Recommended tour operator!

Meru Slopes Tours took good care of my friend and I when we visited Tanzania. Great communication throughout the entire journey, everything was well organized. The trip was absolutely amazing. The views were beautiful and the animals were so impressive. Mudy our driver did such a great Job. Friendly and helpful all the time. We had the full wildlife experience in the camps, sleeping next to lions and elephants. We really enjoyed these days.

Amazing and unforgettable experience. Everything was perfectly planned, you should be so lucky to have Loi as guide, he was super caring and always knew where to take us to get the best experiences. Special mention also to Rachid, our amazing chef. Definitely recommended.

The safari was wonderful and the Organisation was done really fast and efficiently by Geofrey.
Jacobo the guide was also fantastic, regaling us with his humour and his knowledge of the animals and birds in the national parks.
