        Acre tour
We had a fantastic 3 hour tour of the old city of Acre yesterday. Andrew made time for us outside of his normal schedule and accommodated our need to hit our dinner plans. The tour was excellent and we loved his personal connection to the city and its people. Our 15 year old son also had a great time.highly recommend.

        Excellent tour
The tour with Andrew is inspiring. We have never thought one can benefit so much from a 2 hour tour - clear explanations, a local perspective of a young guide who really loves the city, so much history, art and knowledge- we will definitely come back and take another tour with Andrew, not only in Acco, but in the north of the country too. Highly recommended.

        5 star tour of Acca
We spontaneously booked a tour with Andrew during a recent visit to Acca and within minutes his passionate demeanor grabbed our attention and reeled us in to the history of Acca. Andrew was born and raised in Acca. He is educated and speaks multiple languages. He conducted our tour in English and he was thorough, factual, colourful, and entertaining. He made us laugh all day long. He is very flexible!!! For example, our tour took place in the latter part of the day and into the night. I wanted to see the sunset and within minutes, we were on a rooftop in Acca watching the sun descend into the Mediterranean Sea. Throughout the tour, we met other locals who are involved in many restoration projects in Acca and got to hear their perspectives too, which richened the tour. Everything about the day was a very special experience. If you are planning to visit Acca, book your time with Andrew. He will tailor your tour and deliver a fun & exciting day.

        Great visit Akko with Andrew
Myself and my wife booked Andrew for a two hours tour in Akko (he suggested 4 hours but we thought that might be too much) we enjoyed his excellent tour a lot! I believe the best guide I ever had! Knows a lot about the history and brings it in a very entertaining way with lots of humor. Besides from history he als knows a lot about culture and art. As always with guides we were a little afraid he might bring us to touristic shops or restaurants but nothing like that. He is obviously very passionate about his job!!! If you look for a guide who can tell you more than just dates and facts... he is your man!!! We should have done the 4h tour! Those 2 hours were gone too fast!

        Unforgettable tour!!!
Andrew is the perfect guide. Knows how to bring history alive. Ideal for our family because our teens can be impatient. He was able to capture their imagination with fascinating detail, while maintaining a good pace to keep things moving. Also, he’s from Akko. Knows everyone and all the good places to go. Not commissioned by any store, so he doesn’t steer you to buy anything unless you are so inclined. Highly recommended for everyone!

        Fantastic! You Will Not Regret!
Andrew is a gem. He got us at a rough time too. We were shell shocked from a bad hotel experience and his enthusiasm and deep knowledge of the city quickly swept us away. Andrew has a strong background for this type of work and is well educated. Creates a lovely context for architecture and history and modern socio-economic situation. We actually overhead another guide give inaccurate information (waaay inaccurate) to a decent sized group and it was killing him! Andrew has a long and deep connection to Akko and we learned so much. I highly recommend visiting Akko. The history is astounding; I would describe it as a "must see". It was also really interesting hearing the perspective from a non-Jewish guide. He has a Christian background and Akko is one of those towns where all three religions converge (also some interesting B'ahai gardens). Could not recommend more. There is also some great food in Akko as a side note!

Andrew is the best tour guide!!
Andrew met the group of 5 of us for a private tour. He immediately dived in to the tour after introducing himself and getting to know us a little bit. He is a local and you can immediately tell. He knows half the town and has all of the energy that a tour guide needs. He's a natural storyteller and does an incredible job of keeping you engaged. We got to see all of the history with his added knowledge of his archeology. There's no way you can leave that tour without laughing! It felt like a very personal tour, as he's open to sharing his own experiences with you. We invited him for lunch afterward, which was an extra special treat. He's such a wordly human and so curious for other cultures, people, and experiences. He's so open to sharing his own world and it's the only way to see Akko! Someone else said it best before. You start with a tour guide and end with a friend. If you're lucky to spend time with Andrew, please do! It's worth it!

        Great guide
What a wonderful tour of Akko (Acre) - Andrew knows and loves the city and is so enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and is so personable in telling you all kinds of interesting things, that the hours fly by. He spices things up by asking fun questions that test your careful observation and your creative logic, and he keeps you engaged by speaking to you as you walk while he walks backwards. Never academic, he’s made a careful selection of facts that are intriguing but never tedious, intercut with compelling personal viewpoints and greetings to almost everyone in town. You’ll miss a lot if you don’t take his tour, while if you do take his tour, you’ll make a new friend.

THE ONLY way to see Acre!! Travel with Andrew
My husband and I spent the day touring the city of Acre with Andrew. He lives here, is an archaeologist, knows the history of the city, knows the people who live there and who contribute to the tapestry of life in the city where tourists come and go but life goes on. He was able to get us "behind the scenes" in a few of the historical places so that we could see what some of the rooms looked like. Two highlights for us were a visit with his artist friend Eytan, seeing more of his work throughout the city and visiting Salim the stonecutter at his Almadrassah where we learned of his work at restoration and stone carving. Travel with Andrew is the only way to really see Acre.

My wife, my daughter and son, 15 and 16 had an incredible experience with Andrew in Acre. Being it is his home town, his insights and local knowledge can not be surpassed. He was extremely knowledgeable and made all the history easy to understand and fun. His energy and charisma. I will agree with all that was said prior and highly recommend him

A wonderful, fascinating guided tour of Akko with Andrew.
Andrew deserves all the accolades that you see in all the reviews written about him on this site. Not much to add really, except to say that not only is Andrew a very knowledgeable guide, but is also very good company as well. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our two hour tour of the old city with him. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Absolutely fabulous in every way. Andrew's tour is a MUST if you are visiting Old Acco. The three hour tour was highly informative and incredibly entertaining! Andrew was born and bred in Acco and really brought the history of the area to life. He also weaved many colorful anecdotes about the city and the locals into the tour. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment!

As a local he gives insight into the city and it’s past. There is so much to see and he doesn’t just take you to the touristy spots. Even at the touristy spots he is able to share so much more than what’s on the signs. Highly recommend getting a group together and having Andrew show you the sights and sounds of the city.

Andrew was a fantastic guide. Despite covid-19 related restrictions, he put together a superb tour of Acco for us, weaving in his own personal stories as a native son of the city. This added a wonderfully personal dimension to the experience. His English is impeccable, and obviously speaks native Hebrew and Arabic as well (maybe other languages as well!).
      Highly recommended!

I am a frequent traveler and often use daily tour guides. I rarely write reviews, but Andrew Abado was so outstanding as a guide that I write this one. He was on time and efficient, his English was excellent, and he (unlike many other guides) was open to answering any questions we had, even on controversial subjects. He was flexible, and while he had a normal and comprehensive agenda, he was willing to focus on what interested us. He lives in Akko, is a licensed and knowledgeable guide, and was promptly responsive to our booking inquiry. I recommend him highly.

We had a great day on this tour. Andrew is an excellent guide. He provided us clear directions to meet in Nazareth (and Akko) and spent 3-4hrs in each city learning about its religious, cultural, economic, and military history - past and present. It was a great blend of our interests and he took time to get to know us and share some about himself - a unique day touring with a local expert.

If you are looking to go North while in Israel and you are fortunate enough to book Andrew you will not regret it.

Andrew is simply one of the smartest, loveliest, and most authentic guides I’ve ever had. He knows Akko like the back of his hand and helps you understand the city like a local.
I found the entire tour fascinating; Andrew was able to communicate both the history and culture of the city in an engaging way.
If I come back to Akko, I know I would choose Andrew again without hesitation.

We spent over 4 hours walking around Akko with Andrew in November and it was great. He is extremely knowledgeable, has lots of great stories, knows everyone in Akko, can answer lots of questions and is super friendly. He shared his love of the city and even talked about Akko and tourism and showed us some of the new b&bs in the city and plans for the city's future.

You couldn’t wish for a better guide. Andrew is extremely knowledgeable about all the different layers of history of Akka and can put it in a broader context. He is entertaining and explains things very clearly, speaks perfect English and the four hours just flew by. By the end we felt that we really knew and understood beautiful Akka. I thoroughly recommend him.

I have been to Akko many times and I simply love the place. It was my mothers first visit to Israel and we decided to spend the day exploring this magnificent city. Andrew was our guide, who came highly recommended and - he is simply amazing!
We were met by this charming and enthusiastic young man at 10 am - and spent an incredible day in Akko. His passion for the city is reflected in every single place we visited.
He knowledgeably took us on a journey through every historical period ( including the present) and shared his passion of the magnificent city with us in such an engaging manner. We not only went where all the tourists go.. but had the privalage of seeing the living city through Andrew’s eyes.
      Such a treat!!!!
      Andrew - Simply the best!!!
