A great experience, thanks to Rudi who was our guide, very patient, a good listener, very funny and who transmits great energy (which is necessary for the climb!). We booked the 2d1n private tour starting from Senaru village to the crater rim. We read a lot of reviews about how hard it was, but it was way more easy than expected! The route from Senaru village is definitely the easiest way to get to the rim and has amazing views of both the summit and the beautiful lake! We really like the fact that this route is less crowded and less touristic. While everybody is walking in line trying to get to the summit, we were enjoying the calmness and peace of the Senaru route. We were very lucky to have the best guide: Rudi and his porters: Schu and Alec. They were very friendly and funny and took good care of us. There was plenty of food being served during the breaks and we even had the honour to be the first ones to try their new recipe: fried Beng Beng. ;-) We were also the first ones to arrive at the crater, which was quite nice. Thanks Rudi! Meanwhile, Schu and Alec had found us the BEST camping spot with amazing views and less wind. We had so much fun with these 3 guys! We definitely recommend booking a private tour with Jou. We even had a pick-up at Tetebatu and drop-off at Gili Air with a private boat. Before leaving to Gili we had a quick shower at the office which was much needed. ;-) / Look no further, this is the best quality you will get! 10 out of 10.

Jou arranged a very well organized trip with flawless logistics from airport pickup, hike, meals and drop off at the port for our ongoing journey. The guide, Lim, spoke English well and attended to our needs. The porters are so strong, organized and kind. They provided us with excellent meals albeit the portions were too big! The guide and porters kept us safe. I would recommend this tour group they were very responsible and capable. However, this hike is not easy, be prepared with the right clothing and know this is not a walk in the park.

We had such an awesome time hiking Mt. Rinjani with rody as our guide for two days. Surprisingly, we didn't book a private tour but ended up being the only ones in our group, which was cool. The porters were amazing - they carried all our stuff and made sure we were well taken care of. Our tents and sleeping bags were clean, and we had delicious cooked meals for each meal. After our hike, Jou Trekking arranged a private car to take us to Kuta Lombok, and it was all included in the package price. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we would totally recommend Jou Trekking

Excellent service, great food (vegetarian options too and snacks). The entire trip was very comfortable- they provide everything literally. Benji was awesome. He took care of everything we needed and made sure that our hike was completely safe. He was also singing Bollywood songs to entertain us (as we are from India). We really had a lot of fun. Highly recommend taking this trip with benji and jou trekking.

Our adventure with Jou Trekking to the second summit of Mount Rinjani was wonderful and we wholeheartedly recommend the tour. We climbed to the second summit (2D1N departing from Seranu), as we arrived during shoulder season and only had 2 days of time in Lombok. This alternative journey is offered by only a few tour guides and adds something extra to the normally advertised Crater Rim tour. We were a group of 2 however the Jou Trekking team also caters to larger groups. From the moment we met our guide, Anton, we knew we were in good hands. Anton's great knowledge of the local flora and fauna added depth to our hike, which was most appreciated. He catered to all walking speeds and is fluent in English and Bahasa. Bar the view (which really speaks for itself), one of the highlights of our trek was the rare sight of the ebony leaf monkey, endemic to the region. We were incredibly lucky to spot these three times during our hike, adding a magical touch to our adventure. Anton highlighted that this was likely due to us walking the track at an unusual time of day (having done the 2nd Summit peak instead of starting the descent earlier). From a practical perspective, Jou Trekking also covered transport to and from the airport, managed by WhatsApp which was a huge plus for us as it was all included in the package. Additionally, the food provided throughout the trek was delicious and satisfying (tempeh curry, pasta and ayam stirfry), keeping our energy levels high! One should note, Jou trekking is on the more expensive side for such a hike, however the company takes much of the hassle and thinking out of organisation, making the increased price worth it in our experience. Finally, one regret is not staying longer in the beautiful Seranu area. This trek has left us eager for more, and we can't wait to explore further and summit next time we arrive in Lombok. For anyone seeking an educational, sometimes difficult hike experience, we highly recommend Jou Trekking.

We choose the 2D1N formula and had an amazing experience with Joutrekking, from the pick-up all the way up to Rinjani! Our guide Nas and the porters are outstanding and made the trekking unforgettable, and incredibly smooth! They adapted their pace to our rythme, provided us with yummy food all along the trek and were incredibly kind, generous and smiley during the whole trip! I did this trek with my guide Eddie and 3 other travellers and it was a fantastic experience. Not for the faint hearted but if you're willing to put some effort in, it's loads of fun. The porters are terrific and they really ensure you are filled up with food, water and sugary drinks. You will not go malnourished. They meals are delicious and the porters and the guides friendliness even more outstanding. The staff at the joutrekking office were very helpful making sure I had everything I needed and then made sure I made it to my next stop (Bangsal) safe and sound. In their words: "It is our responsibility to get you there safe". If you're going to climb Rinjani do it with Joutrekking!

My boyfriend and I went on the Mt. Rinjani 2D1N crater rim trek with Lim as our guide. We were extremely impressed by Lim and our two porters, who ensured we were well-fed and lacked for nothing. They truly seemed like superheroes, and I am amazed by their abilities! The trek up Rinjani was challenging, but the team organized it well and the breathtaking views from the top made it all worthwhile. The porters found us a wonderful camping spot, and waking up to the view of the crater from our tent was truly unforgettable. highly recommend limit and his porters to anyone considering the Rinjani trek - our experience was fantastic.

We went on the 2-day, 1-night tour! It was a tough journey, but the stunning scenery made it all worthwhile. Lim and the porters provided invaluable support, and their hospitality was exceptional. The food was also fantastic! Huge thanks to Lim and the porters - we couldn't have done it without you!

We went on a 2-day tour with Jou Trekking, and the tour provider was excellent! Our guide, Rody, was very friendly throughout the entire hike, cooking delicious meals for us and providing snacks. He even made us hot chocolate and coffee at the top and brought them upstairs - no one else had them! The thing that we found a bit alarming was the amount of litter on the mountain, but Jou Trekking also makes an effort to address this issue by consistently removing more litter than they generate themselves. Overall, it was a brilliant tour and we highly recommend it!

Truly an amazing experience, everthing from start til the end was 10/10. Our guide was super nice and english speaking. The food was soo delicious, authentic and for every meal there was more than enough food and drinks. Additionally, the company was so generous and helpful. They borrowed us backpacks, headlamps and gloves, and drove us 3.5h to our hotel after the hike without any extra charges. Couldn’t be more happy with Jou Trekking! Finally, I recommend everyone to visit mount Rinjani. It was challenging but such a rewarding experience!

One of the coolest experiences! I set off my 2 day 1 night trek solo with Adi and his 2 porter team They went above and beyond at every point of the hike, I was full after every meal there was so much food and it tasted amazing. It was especially great how I cannot speak Indonesian at all but Adi would take the time to explain what the porters and other guides were saying, even teaching me some Indonesian as we hiked up the mountain. Being solo I completed the trip a little quicker than expected, so that afternoon after we finished Adi Tok me to a local village where they had some Indonesian stick fighting (crazy). I sat drank rice wine with the locals. I could not recommend Adi, his porter team and jou trekking enough gave me the absolute full traditional Indonesian experience it was incredible!

Rudi was such an amazing guide and brought us safely to the crater rim in about 5 hours walking with a headlight starting from 12am at night. He carried all of the food and snacks and little drinks and was always so cheerful ☺️ thank you for the best experience on Mount Rinjani! Please give these guides good tips; they deserve it so much for their hard work and friendly as well as happy mood.
