We visited a lot of local Batak aspects and very interesting spots on our way to lake Toba, where the hotel was. We were happy with the Dutch speaking guide. The driver was really good a nice for us. Not being aware of so much free time the first day, we could have planned also some activities in the resort, which were available. All in all a interesting 3 days, where price was rather high compared to what we have got.Written October 11, 2024
- pradeepkm20190 contributionsBrastagi, Medan, IndonesiaBrastagi is a typical hill station like many others in India and Asia. There are Strawberry farms, fruit market and a Buddhist temple. Highlight of visit was to see Sipiso-Piso waterfall. This is magnificent. One can go right down to bottom and behind the fall by stairs. Unfortunately, it was drizzling then, so the stairs were slippery and not advisable.Written November 24, 2019

Medan is a sprawling city of around 2.5 million inhabitants, without an actual center. At least we didn't visit one on this city tour.
As mentioned in the description, old religious places of worship are visited. Nevertheless, at the end there was a strange feeling that we had only visited something long ago and that we were still living in that time. There is nothing modern or interesting about it.
The guide knew a lot about the old days - routinely - and was quite professional. And yet: we didn't really "warm" to this city.
