I had a great time painting a picture of barong! I learned a lot and enjoyed chatting with Gusti about our lives in our respective countries I’ve never taken an art class, nor am I “an artist”, but thought it would be a fun activity to do solo while in the Ubud area, which, it was! Gusti helped me throughout the process enduring the final result looked good! Felt exceptionally safe as a solo female traveler and would be interested in trying the batik class next time Definitely book as you also get to keep the artwork you make as well!

I have never painted before and the teachers were very friendly and helped me create a painting I was happy with! I would go back again because there are so many kinds of art happening at the studio. Also beautiful view.

We arrived at the studio with family and friends and received a very warm welcome from Wayan, who I now call a friend! The studio is great! We learned a lot and got to have a lot of fun doing so. Wayan taught us about painting techniques and we could also see how talented an artist he is. The studio is also in a very beautiful location where you really get a feel for life in rural Bali. I cannot say enough good things about this studio! Highly recommended! I had done a lot of excursions during my trip and this was by far one of the best and most authentic. I was also able to make a nice painting purchase from Wayan. Thanks Wayan for such a great and memorable trip to your studio. I posted photos of this beautiful place.

I booked and attended the painting class within a day. The arrangements and communication could not have been easier and this was followed by a brilliant afternoon with beautiful patient and caring people. Being a novice I was helped A LOT and enjoyed every minute.

About 10 minutes outside of Ubud, with free transfer if needed, the studio is in a picturesque family compound. Stone and wood carving, batik , painting. We did stone carving . The tea and balinese desserts were a great addition. The project was done in about 3.5 hours with continuous, watchful and encouraging support from Gusty and Putu. This was a great class and my only regret is that i didnt have time to stay longer and do a more detailed project and that i dont have time to come back and do their other crafts. Highly recommend this-

Had a fantastic time today doing this class. Hotel pick up- great. Class was amazing and teachers were very patient with me while I learned about the art style. I created my piece alongside some local artists who were keen to chat while we pained the hours away. The view from the studio was lovely and the sounds of Balinese life while we painted were very peaceful. The teacher helped me learn how to compose my picture and then showed me each technique, giving suggestions as I went. I’m an absolute beginner painter and could not recommend this experience enough. I would definitely do it again and would be Keen to try one of the other techniques. Thank you for a great day!

I went for the workshop which was supposed to be a 3 hours session, but I ended up spending another 3 hours talking with the brilliant teacher Wayan pujana about life, local culture, music, arts, everything...Not only is he good at teaching how to paint, but also he's ready to introduce the entire Balinese culture to you if you're interested. Thanks for this unique and excellent experience!!

I was looking for something fun and alternative to do with my Mum while we were in Ubud. As she is 78, most activities like yoga and rice fields were not appropriate, but the painting at five arts was absolutely perfect! We spent a great afternoon there and while neither of us had painted in MANY MANY years, and our works of art were definitely NOT masterpieces, we had so much fun bonding with each other and the balinese teacher and his friend. A wonderful way to support the local community as well. The Akasha restaurant at New Earth Heaven is only a few minutes away and an excellent spot for lunch beforehand.

We did the half day traditional painting session. As someone with very limited artistic talent or skills I thought it would be rather challenging. Instead I found the approach and teaching super relaxed and encouraging- even did a painting I’m keen to put on the wall back home. The young guys who lead the session were super helpful and willing to help.

I loved every minute of my art lesson here. I was picked up by one of the artists himself and driven to the studio, which is in their village compound. So you get to see traditional village life and their art. I was taken through every step of my lesson by my teacher, who was super patient and very talented. I came away with a beau painting that I will treasure for ever. I learnt a new style of painting.

Purchased this class for my wife, who already had some experience with different painting techniques. She was very happy. Highly recommended.

An amazing morning activity in rural Bali. Both my husband and I really enjoyed doing batik. Our teachers were very friendly, with good English and a great sense of humour. Located in Rural Bali they kindly arrange for a taxi to pick you up from your hotel and to drop you off at the end of the session. Had we been in Bali longer we would have liked to also try our hands at Wood carving or at a bigger batik piece, such as a sarong or canvas acrylic painting class. We only have been back a week and we already have recommend the activity to several people who are planning to go to Bali in the near future. Thank you 🙏🏻 for sharing your knowledge with us.
