- 1Ubud White Rafting is one of the most popular white water rafting adventure activities in Ubud and Bali, Before reaching the river or to the start point we will go down for around 10 minutes and there are hundreds of steps. The adventure activity will spoil your eyes and increase your adrenaline. In this activity, you will receive safety guidance, complete safety equipment, get lunch, and a towel (bathroom), and you will be driven 7.5 miles (12 kilometers) along the Ubud Ayung River with views of the size of rocks, waterfalls, rice fields, and natural forests.

Wayan, our driver, vas reliable, punctual and polite. Also he was really nice, kind and helpful. He have us great advice about less overcrowded waterfalls, less touristic temples, local markets… or even when to visit turistic places like Pura Tirta Empul without lots of people. We went to rice fields, market and temple all of which without Wayan we wouldn’t have known where to go. Also included was the waterfalls but we decided as a family not to do this as jet lag was setting in, but highly recommend Wayan for any trip! He taught us so much about the wonderful island including how the rice is made, temple celebrations and other amazing facts that we wouldn’t have found out by just getting a taxi around the island.Written July 20, 2024

He speaks English very comfortably, is knowledgeable about the environment in Bali, and has a wonderful sense of humor. We spontaneously booked a rafting tour and we were very happy that it was so easy and quickly possible. Everything worked great - the pickup, rafting, food and return transport.
There are still a few minor points to note:
We were allowed exceptionally to 7. on the boat which was great, however, I sat on the edge and I was told only after I had fallen out of the boat that there is usually no one sits and I should hold on better than everyone else. Here I would have found an info before the rafting start very helpful.
Like everywhere in Ubud is also rafting a lot going on. This means that you stand in a queue on the way to the water, besides one are many other boats on the water and there is a forced stop on the water at which you can buy food and drink. This stop we would have very gladly skipped - but had to stop.
All in all, we spent a nice day rafting and the organization was more than easy.
There are still a few minor points to note:

I have been traveling to Bali for 15 years. I have done many excursions in Bali and this rafting experience is still my favorite activity to share with friends . If the is one excursion to choose while in Ubud I would recommend the white water rafting experience as the on “ must do” excursion in Ubud. Our driver Wyan spoke perfect English and the staff of the rafting operation were great !

Great communication from Wayan (Driver), kept us informed, so no stress on what was happening.
Picked us up on time, car was immaculate. Very polite. Nice easy stress free drive to drop off point for white water rafting.
Rafting was a bit sedate for my liking but views & crew were great throughout the day.
Back to hotel at the end by Wayan. No issues at all.
Would highly recommend Wayan for any driving you may need during your time in Bali.

Customer experience with Bali Rafting is above and beyond. We had a wonderful driver who helped us organize even the next days transfer from Bali to Lombok.
We also had an amazing boat guide who maintained a good atmosphere. Very satisfied with the quality of service.

It was a great time!
Wayan picked us up from our hotel and was a great driver. Lovely to chat to - he had lots of local knowledge to share.
There is a bit of a trek down to the river, but it was through beautiful fields and rainforest.
The rafting is brilliant for first-timers -definitely not too wild a ride! Everyone in our group felt safe the whole time, and the guides really kept the entertainment level up for the whole journey too.
With so many tourists through the area, a bit of rubbish is inevitable, but these guys seemed to be doing their best to keep the area clean while we were there.
The river and surrounding forest/jungle was spectacular with a couple of bonus waterfalls!

We enjoyed the beauty and fun of the rafting experience. I plan to return during the rainy season so I can experience higher water and more thrilling rapids. I suggest the rafting companies inform people of the 320-380 steps down to the river, and up again at the end of the rafting experience. My friends and I are all senior citizens. Fortunately, we are healthy with no knee problems. But it seems only fair this physical requirement be mentioned on the website when customers purchase their tickets. Our only suggestion: The river guides should have more information about the natural beauty experienced during the journey down the river, and spend less time being silly with pranks. One or two times is okay, but the same prank ten times is annoying.

We had a great time on this white water rafting experience. Our driver, Wayan, was on time for pick up, informative and a friendly host.
You have to wait a bit at the start before being given your helmets, life jackets and paddles. There are lockers there too if you have any larger items. Then a truck ride to a hike down a lot of slippery stairs. Despite this, flip flops are the way to go, rather than sneakers.
Our river guide was fun and very experienced. There is a lot of joking around along the way, but you will always be instructed on when to hold on at the right moments.
If you have phones with you, either use a sealable lanyard bag or you can store them in the dry bag on the boat. You just can’t take drinks with you in case they spill, but you can purchase coconut water or other drinks/snacks at the midway rest point and pay at the end.
The rapids are a bit more exciting at the start, but there are some equally fun spots further downstream, especially the final waterslide. Prepare to get soaked, laugh, scream and enjoy the ride!
Plenty of young kids were along for the ride too, and as long as they hold on, seem pretty safe.
Bit of a stair climb at the end, but it’s a welcome chance to stretch the legs after being on the boat for so long. Not that I’m complaining, being on the boat was fun!
You will have the opportunity to purchase photos and videos at the end which were taken from the shore. Just take note, these are quite expensive.
There is a serviceable buffet lunch after showering and changing into your dry clothes. It is a well run enterprise, and well worth it for the fun times you’ll have and the gorgeous views of nature.

Went rafting with my wife on our honeymoon to Bali! Everything was hassle free and perfect. The company sent a driver to taxi us from our resort to the location. Even though it was our first time our guide made sure we were prepared and understood all the basics. It was fun and safe. I recommend anyone who likes adventure to give this a try!

The rafting was very nice, with beautiful nature. Our driver back and forth was very polite and helpfull and waited for us on the way back to our hotel, so we could buy grosseries.
Unfortunately we had a lot of waiting time before being picked up and being transported to the startingpoint for the walk down to the river, and again down at the river because the boats were delayed. We came at rush hour (1.30 pm), which probably made the waiting time worse.
We were compensated with an extra lunch- box :-)

thank you for your time to share your experience with other travelers yes that right our client been waiting around an hour before heading to startingpoint due to on June - July August we had so many traffic jam in Bali specialy at tourist destination remember Ubud is small city and there so many cars and making the tour become unpredictable.

The rafting was a very fun experience for our family. With a family of 3 children with different ages of 18, 15 and 11 years old, it is not always easy to find the right excursion. That was clearly not a problem here!! The great views and the sports were great.
I would also like to thank our taxi driver Wayan. This man has given us a lot of insights about Bali. The man is wise, calm and speaks very good and clear English. You immediately feel at ease with him. His good knowledge of the island, the residents, the culture, etc. is highly recommended.
After this excursion, Wayan drove around with us for a few more days. We did transfers between different hotels with him and kept making stops at interesting places. His bilingualism and knowledge of the country ensure that you get the most out of your excursions. If you want to arrange this on yourself, you will really lose a lot of time in traffic and queues.
On the last day of our holiday we would really have liked to spend another day visiting various beautiful beaches with him, but unfortunately this was not possible due to my illness.
