Lava bike tour and food / coffee from the cafe.
Superb Lava bike tour with great food / coffee. My wife and I took the Lava bike tour this week, we were lucky as the tour was fully booked but as it was out last opportunity to do it they kindly arranged a 2nd guide and 2nd transport vehicle for us, which they did not have to do. Main thing to note is this is not your ordinary tourist type lava / fat bike tour. These guys have designed and built these bike from scratch and are seriously proud and keen cyclists. The tour takes in a lot of trails and areas which the other tours just cannot access due to local knowledge and the ability of these fat bikes. We rode up to the side of the volcano and climbed up to the caldera and then enjoyed a fantastic downhill through the lava field. we then met the 4x4's and transferred to a beautiful viewpoint for a picnic lunch supplied from the cafe which included home made cake bars and natural juices, after lunch we headed downhill for almost an hour though the jungle , seeing parts of the area which no ones else has ever ridden. This is truly a special experience on Bali and i know it can look a bit expensive from the outside, but in all honestly its extremely good value for money and the guides look after you very well. Huge shout out to Peter who owns the business and designed the bikes, he was out guide and was a great host. oh and p.s the coffee in the cafe is great too

    Fatbikes Volcano Tour
At first glance, I thought 'Hmm... seems like a lot to hire a bicycle'. Turned out to be incredibly good value. This was the highlight of my trip to Bali - beauty and fun in equal measure. The volcano has a unique landscape, and the views are stunning. Zipping downhill after is also tremendous fun. Nice lunch too, great guides, excellent bikes and transportation vehicle - everything was well thought through. Treat yourself!

    Fatbikes Lava Tour
Together with my son we took the lava tour on fatbikes. What an amazing experience. We got picked up at our location in Ubud and everything was well organized. The fatbikes are great on the rocky lava road and the views are magnificent. Two hours and 14km later part one was finished. At lunchtime, we enjoyed fresh chicken wraps, banana and drinks. After lunch is was downhill all the way for 1 hour. All together a great experience and money well spent. Thanks!

    DON'T GO HUNGRY
This place is ALWAYS empty, and so is the kitchen! It's a real shame because the one time we were able to eat here, the food was pretty good. My wife and I were in Sanur for a few weeks visiting friends, and every time we went into this place, the KITCHEN WAS CLOSED, even though there was a menu posted outside, and the apparently clueless staff would hand us a menu with food on it when we walked in. The cafe's open-air atmosphere is also nice, but due to bad service and apparently bad management, it appears to be a space that's going to waste. As an avid blogger, I enjoy trying out new restaurants and cafes during my travels, but I must say there were several big DINING DISAPPOINTMENTS in Sanur, including this place. A simple common sense approach to service could go a really long way here. Train your staff to get off of their cell phones and pay attention to what's happening around them: don't stand there like a deer in headlights while a customer is looking at a menu that you know is not available. Again, the menu shouldn't even be out if the kitchen is not open. Duh! Hope the bikes are selling, because the food is not. You're sure to leave this place with an empty stomach and a very BAD TASTE IN YOUR MOUTH!

    disappointingly overpriced
I haven't tried the food at Kayuh restaurant and therefore cannot give any comment on it. What I can comment is the insanity of charging IDR 50.000 for a double espresso at such a simple and really nothing special looking place. Very disappointing and I understand now why I see this place always empty.

    Outstanding food!
I have made numerous visits here and it is my go to place for outstanding quality food. The burgers and pancakes are really good. They use fresh, high quality ingredients and at very reasonable prices for the standard of food that they offer. Portion sizes are very generous. The staff are always attentive and very friendly. If you fancy a coffee and cake or a full meal then I would highly recommend making a visit.

    Use correct coffee sizes.
Food is good. Especially breakfast. The wrong labeling of your coffee cups is very annoying. You have 2 sizes small and regular. Not regular and large. Please label them correctly to avoid confusion.

    Real Western Coffee!
One of the struggles in Bali is finding a good cup of Coffee! No such struggle here. The staff know how to roast a bean! Went several times during our stay and was great every time! Being a half bike shop it’s one of the few places that’s air conditioned as well! The food is also very good and well worth it.

Work in progress. Expensive for what it delivers.
This is a typical hipster place of which there are many on the Gold Coast. Bike shop plus cafe. Clean IKEA look. Typical Australian style menu - avo smash etc. Large coffee is a regular cup and good but not outstanding. Juices were watery and mediocre. Everything came in dribs and drabs despite us being the only customers at first. Out of 4 x poached eggs, only one was cooked well, the sourdough bread was hard and stale. The big breakfast at 74k was the best out of the 3 we had. A horde of cyclists and some other customers arrived and the guys behind the counter had obvious trouble coping with more than one cofffee order at the time. It's too expensive for what it delivers. We are breakfast people and this one needs some work. Once was enough. May be they should stick to selling bikes only.

Excellent breakfast in a bike shop!
The Kayuh Kitchen Cafe is one of the most hidden gems in Sanur! But first things first: the breakfast! When you finally found them you enter a place full of daylight and cleanliness. You can sit outside to observe the action on Jl. Danau Tamblingan or inside enjoying the decent background music. Simple but stylish tables and chairs invite you to sit down and order your breakfast. All ingredients of your first meal of the day are locally sourced and are prepared by a chef in the small kitchen; all fresh and delicious. They even offer their very own coffee bean mix –Kayuh Bali Coffee- for sale so you can try to make your most loved coffee as nice and decorative as the barista prepares it for you on site. The atmosphere is relaxed, child friendly and stylish! But what are these black monster frames doing here?! It is just after a while you realize that you are also sitting in a bicycle sales and repair shop! Frankly speaking I never saw such technically advanced bikes in any bike shop (see link below)! At Kayu Kitchen they do so many things right! They keep it simple in one way, BUT you feel, smell and taste that many good ideas are going into the even smallest of details and make your breakfast here a real pleasure. More than I was expecting in Sanur and more than you expect in any urban city around the world. BRAVO!

    Great coffee and breakfast
Big call for us to say good coffee but this was up there, not to mention the breakfast. Very accomodating, house made granola worth a try but even the simple eggs were tasty. Extremely good price and super clean bathrooms. One of our favs..

GREAT coffee !!! Cool little place with smiley staff
Cool little cafe - look for the big bikes the sell in the other half and it’s hard to miss! My partner thought the coffee from here was the best he tried in Bali!! on the Main Street this cafe had a good looking brunch menu although we’d already eaten so didn’t get to try but wish we’d got to eat here but we only got here on our last day! I had an iced chocolate & coconut carrot cake which were both great as well. Saw some food coming out for others and it looked great!

What a fantastic day out in the lava on the Rhinovelo Fat Bikes. The day started when we were promptly collected from our hotel and whisked up to the mountains. In no time we were out in the bikes in the Lava taking in the breathtaking scenery. After a lovely lunch we then descended down for an hour or so through some amazing trails, the Fat bikes handled the sandy conditions perfectly.

I can highly recommend The Lava Ride Experience, next time I’m back in Bali I’ll be doing this again for sure.

This is a must in Bali. The lava ride is something you have never experienced! A bit challenging, but worth the effort. Also gives you something to brag about against your friends who also went to Bali. Did you see the rice fields, yes! Did you see the temples, yes! Did you go to the Nusa islands. yes! Did you ride a bike on frozen lava on a volcano????? Ehhhh.
Kudo's for Mr. Adi and Mr. Yogi for keeping everybody save, especially during the downhill part of the tour.

I never rode one of those FAT bikes before. And Trying them here in Bali, right in the crater of "Batur", on a kind of amazing unique black-sand-Moon like-surface surrounded by the tallest Mountains of Bali, is something very special to do. The crew is very pro and trained to make you enjoy this unique experience, riding downhill through a canyon after having enjoyed the superbe view will be the highlight of the day, Get it on guys!!
