We traveled to Ubud from Jimbaran bay for the day. Booking was easy, the driver was prompt and the guide (Bob) was very informative and funny. We did the afternoon tour and enjoyed the meal provided afterwards. There is very little cycling involved as the bikes are essentially scooters with pedals. If you are looking for a great way to learn more about Hinduism and farming in Ubud this is the right tour for you.

The guides were very good on the tour, they told us lots and stopped at many points of interest. Would recommend to anyone who can ride a bike visiting Bali

There are four eBike companies around Ubud and nearly 200 regular bike companies.
This company is very professional. We are in low season so there were only four of us with two good guides. We are not novices to either bike or eBike tours . We also enjoyed a four-hour regular bike tour in the north on another trip.

Pros:
Bikes in good condition
Excellent communication response time
Gorgeous scenery
Stops with commentary along the way
On time front door pickup
Terrific guides
Fun open buggy pick up

Cons:
Even though we communicated that we are four active "older" folks (who bike at home) and asked Sanur rice paddies would be appropriate. The level of difficulty of the ride was a shock. The beginning was a lovely, shaded, paved, quiet community. Perfect for getting the feel of these eBikes.
Almost immediately we were on very narrow (think a half meter/15") very stoney paths with 2-3 meter cement irrigation ditch drop offs on either side. Not fun and certainly not relaxing. Yes, we knew that we were going through rice paddies but we also did this in the North on a four hour ride - easy & gorgeous.

To be fair, the guides were terrific and when I said this was no longer a "fun" (anxiety mode was more the case) he called the open golf buggy to get me. The stronger bikers went ahead, one fell twice. I got a lovely tour from the buggy and restarted later when the path was wider. My husband, who is a strong biker, said he was very nervous about falling (remember this is a fast eBike on tiny stones) and did not enjoy it one bit. Forget the scenery - it's a constant struggle to stay upright.

Solution: If the company were transparent about the difficulty level (this was definitely 5/5) no one could complain.

So if you're a mountain biker.... this is the tour for you...it would be terrific.
If you're a medium accomplished (30km/day) city/country biker....maybe take one of their other tours.

This was such a fun experience. We rode 18km on ebikes. You can make it as hard or as easy as you like. Our guides were great and taught us a lot about Ubud, and the farming of rice, Hinduism, and local rural life in Bali. Dinner at the end was great as well.

Booking online was easy, with a prompt confirmation received. We were staying 15km north of Ubud so were advised it would cost 150k extra for pick up (seemed slightly expensive given it is 200k from Sanur which is much further away!)

We were asked to sign a waiver at the start which was slightly disconcerting and I wondered how effective this would be if an accident were to happen. Anyway, lawyer hat aside, we were offered a choice of bikes. I didn’t check properly but the tyres of my bike were fairly bald compared to the others, not a problem on dry conditions but as the bikes are heavy you have to brake fairly hard so might have been an issue in the wet.

The power in the bikes was great making uphill cycling a breeze. The scenery was beautiful and the guides were very good at ensuring it was safe to cross/turn etc. We stopped at a large temple but did not go inside. Instead we had a slightly bizarre chat with the young guides about virtual, cremation, exploding human heads (check YouTube apparently?!) all with the back drop of a huge banyan street and a pile of rubbish on fire. I’ve been inside quite a few temples in Bali so did not mind that we didn’t go in, but thought we should have been offered this.

We headed off the main road down a fairly steep path onto a narrow, uneven path winding through the paddy fields. Despite thinking I was a fairly competent cyclist, I found this challenging and was afraid of falling off the bike down the ditch beside the path. Much like he footpaths in Bali, this path was not in good repair so I opted to walk with my bike. The guide at the rear of our group stayed with me which was appreciated but he seemed to think I had trouble with cycling, rather than fear of falling off due to the terrain!

We had an unexpected stop at a coffee farm where we were offered Kopi Luwak (cat poop coffee!) There were caged civets and I was unsure how I felt about this from an animal welfare perspective. My husband bought some of the coffee beans which were very expensive but probably the going rate for luwak coffee.

We had another stop for water and photos overlooking the Tegallalang rice terraces. A cool I ❤️ Bali swing was here too. The views were superb.

At the end of the tour we had a light lunch which we had been asked to pre-order before setting off. This was nice, if fairly basic.

All in all it was a fun morning, slightly more challenging than expected, but a great way to explore the Ubud countryside.

A must try experience! My wife and I really had a great time cycling through the sites. The guides spoke good English and very humorous and friendly. Although there were a lot of uphills to negotiate, the ebikes make cycling a breeze. With just a flip of a switch, the attached motor of the mountain bikes kicks-in and powers the bike uphill. We were told, the motors can power the bikes up distances of 50km, at a maximum speed of 40km/h!
The tour includes several stop overs to view the terraced padi fields, a coffee plantation and a local village temple. As we took the morning tour, which starts at 9.00am, lunch at a local coffee shop was included at the end of the trip serving local Balinese cuisuine.
If safety is a concern, don’t worry, eBikes is a truly professionally run outfit with safety as their main priority. During the cycle trip, there would be a lead cyclist leading the way. He was also our guide giving commentary to the various highlights of the trip. There is also a secondary cyclist that would block the traffic at main junctions, like an out rider to a presidential convey. To top it off, there is also a 6-seater buggy tailing the whole team with a spare bicycle to cater for any unforeseen circumstances.
For the tour, whilst it is not necessary to bring along any water (we are each given a bottle of mineral water and there are at least 2 stops where drinks are provided for), one might want to bring along a pair of sunglasses, cap and some sun block as protection from the sun. One would also need to be fairly confident on the bike as one would need to negotiate narrow paths. There is also a portion of the cycle tour that we had to go on the public roads. My wife did not feel so confident, so she decided not to ride the bicycles and ended up in the accompanying buggy. She did however get to drive the buggy for some stretches of the route. Ha ha ha! All in all, she too had an enjoyable experience.
Also do note that free pick-up is provided for hotels located in Ubud. For hotels located further away, special arrangements can be made by eBikes for transport at a reasonable rate. We stayed at Jimbaran so eBikes helped us arrange for transport. On the way back, the driver even took us on a short shopping trip in Sanur, which was really nice of him.
