Nusa Penida and Lembongan island offer some of Bali’s finest diving. The islands lie southeast of Bali, a short boat ride across the Badung Strait. The main attraction in Nusa Penida are common encounters with majestic Manta Rays and in season the curious and very rare oceanic sunfish, Mola, coming close to the reef visiting their cleaning stations. Mola season starts from as early as June until late October. The best month are probably September and October but occasional sightings occur all year around. Currents can be strong at times, therefore not all dive sites are suitable for beginners.
