Very knowledgeable and shares beliefs and stories in a very genuine and open way, not like a lecture. We did an evening boat ride to the main ghat ceremony, and a heritage walking tour the next day. Lovely people and can't recommend highly enough.

Caring and very knowledgeable and attentive guide. Willing to help with any individual requests. Highly recommended!
Vivek went above and beyond to make our stay in the city memorable. His walking tour was comprehensive and he has an educated knowledge of the city and its history and rituals. He took us down many atmospheric hidden winding side streets where it would be easy to get lost on your own. He also took us to the temple and negotiated a priest to be our guide which made all the difference. Nothing was too much trouble. You won’t regret signing up with Vivek.

          Varanasi trip
We were very fortunate to have Vivek as our guide in Varanasi; and found him to be a true professional, honest, and explained the history and stories of all the places we visited in an interesting manner. He helped us visit places we were I interested in like shopping and local food delights. If one is searching for a guide you need not look far - Vivek is there. Chandrakant Bal

Very humble & down to earth guide (with reasonable price) whom you can trust
Many thanks to this young and energetic Youngman for taking care of us during our short stay at Varanasi. I wanted a walking tour of the city and Mr.Vivek responded well (both email & text messages) He met us at the Hotel & explained the whole process of the walking tour, recommended good places to eat local Banarasi food and also great places to unwind at night :) He took us through the different ghats, explained about the historic importance of the city(and various temple). We had a great time, we felt like we knew Vivek for a long time. His presence gave us a homely feel in a very crowded city. He even arranged us a Hindu priest to offer a personal pooja. The only thing we missed was the morning boat tour due to high water level at the Ganges after heavy rain. The next day Vivek arranged a car and drove us to Allahabad airport which took almost 5 hours. I recommend him without any reservation and wish him the very best on his humble new job with no middleman.

If you want to see everything in Varanasi with a fantastic guide Vivek is a top choice!
I had less than 24 hours in Varanasi and wanted to see everything I possibly could in that time. Vivek responded promptly to my emails and my questions around my itinerary and made arrangements to meet me at my hotel to discuss in detail how best to fit everything in. He made sure I saw everything on my list and more. He provided a deep insight into everything and answered my endless questions and provided more than just a standard answer, he was proud of Varanasi and to share his knowledge. He took me to a great restaurant and recommended dishes to try. He waited outside the temple with my belongings and took me to reputable shops to buy the items I wanted and helped bargain for good prices. I wish I had asked about accommodation before I booked as he has good knowledge of the hotels and where best to stay. He even arranged a tuk tuk to the train station with the drivers outside my hotel, making my 23 hours in Varanasi an amazing experience and Varanasi remains my favourite of all the places I saw in 3 weeks in India! Thank you Vivek!

          Very helpful and honest
Our experience of Varanasi became so memorable and to a great extent the credit to that goes to Vivek. He is very helpful and goes out of his way to help his guests. Right from planning to giving timely responses to queries to bringing in the humane touch he has been really helpful and supportive. He without thethering also included an extra trip for us to the package. He has good knowledge of the history of the city and that makes it complete. Thanks Vivek for helping us making our trip memorable. We highly recommend him for your trips.

Sunrise and sunset boat trips and walking tour in a day!
We met with Vivek our Tour Guide at 6.30am outside our Guest House on the banks of The Ganges. He is a very friendly young man who speaks good English. We had asked to take the early morning sunrise and evening sunset boat trips and they did not disappoint. The 2 oarsmen looked after us well expertly rowing us up and down the holy river. Vivek explained to us about all the religious rituals so that we could understand all the activities along the banks as we travelled past. The morning experience is very different to the evening and we were very pleased we had taken both. Both were very interesting thanks to Viveks knowlege and explanations. We also joined Vivek for a walking tour through Varanasi during the day which lasted about 4 hours. Again this was a very informative tour which gave us further insight into the Hindu faith and the history of this very unique City.we aldo visited a small weaving factory to take in some local craft work. We would highly recomnend Vivek as your Tour Guide in Varanasi. Thank you Vivek John & Jean

Vivek is a Five Star Guide
Visitors who make the journey to Varanasi should make the most of their trip by having a guide who can give a much deeper appreciation of this holy place. We were lucky to find Vivek Pandey who spent two days with us and I am sure our experience of Varanasi would not have been the same without him. Vivek is a highly educated man with good English. He was very thoughtful in his answers and we would have been equally happy just to chat to him over tea to understand Indian religions as much as we were happy for him to lead us around the back streets of the Varanasi. My only suggestion would have been to also visit some different street markets to balance out our visits to old streets and temples (as there were so many of these). He took great care to ensure that we were being transported by trustworthy drivers and he did not try taking us to any showrooms to buy pashminas/jewellery/etc Vivek has been a guide for many years and is a practicing Hindu. You should contact him directly through his company 'Varanasi Heritage Walk'' - Vivek Pandey - info@varanasiheritagewalk.com +91 78391 67321 - and not through a hotel because they take a commission.

          Unrivaled private tour of Varanasi
If you are in Varanasi, book a private tour with Vivek- you’ll be glad you did. I dare say this will be one of your most poignant memories of India. He doesn’t just know the city like the back of his hand, he is a genuinely beautiful soul as well. He’ll take you on an unforgettable journey through the maze of alleyways that is Varanasi, revealing its mysteries and sharing his deep knowledge of the city’s ancient traditions, steering clear from the tourist traps. This was my second time touring around with him after meeting him a couple of years ago when he was working as the resident guide at the Shiva Ganges View Hotel. I did a temple tour of the city with him back then that has long stood out in my memory, and was lucky enough to find his contact details now that he’s flying solo. The heritage walk is a must, as is the temple tour if you are interested in spirituality and Hinduism. The sunrise and sunset boat rides on the Ganges were excellent value. Unlike other tour operators, Vivek actually comes on the boat with you, explaining everything you always wanted to know about the Ghats but didn’t know who to ask. Thank you for a wonderful time in the holy city.

Varanasi is a fascinating city and Vivek really helped us to see more of it.
We did three tours with Vivek, a sunrise boat trip, an sunset boat trip and a walk. Our time was limited so we did not try the temple tour. We enjoyed all three of the tours we did with Vivek. He is an educated man and very knowledgeable, and he is happy to share information and answer questions. We liked the fact that along with Vivek and the boatman we had a boat to ourselves, unlike some others we saw. Also our boat was a rowing boat so did not contribute to the pollution like the engine powered boats that we saw. Being on a rowing boat at sunrise was very peaceful and a pleasant experience in itself even if there hadn't been lots to see. I would definitely recommend doing both boat trips as they are quite different and very reasonably priced. Watching the sun rise over the Ganges and then stopping off for an early morning chai, watching people doing yoga, seeing the dhobis doing the laundry in the river - so much to see. The evening ride was quite different with the cremations and ceremonies going on. Varanasi is a place like no other that I've seen. Walking round the narrow lanes was also fascinating. I'm sure we wouldn't have seen nearly as much without Vivek to guide us. Vivek went the extra mile - he came to our hotel to discuss our timetable. He suggested places to eat which we wouldn't have found ourselves. At no time did we feel pushed into visiting certain shops to buy anything. We didn't really visit shops as such. He did suggest a few snacks whilst we were walking round the lanes. My favourite was the mango and coconut lassi at the Blue Lassi shop. We would never have found it by ourselves, and if we had, we might have worried whether it was safe (I've had a very bad experience in the past after having a lassi.) Vivek also helped us find a money-changer and having him with us enabled us to get a better rate. He warned us about scams (such as the baby milk scam). All in all I would definitely recommend Vivek as a Varanasi guide, even if you are the kind of person who usually like to sort things out for yourself.

I strongly recommend Vivek and his tour
The tour was excellent from start to finish. He really shows you all that you need to know from Varanasi and Hindu religion. He is open to questions and dedicates you a lot of time to walk, understand and feel this amazing and outstanding city. He will take you to all the important places. You’ll be in the first row for a cremation, you will see how silk is made and walk along the narrow and meandering streets, and he will also make you try the best Lassi in Varanassi. Me and my wife strongly recommend Vivek as your tour guide for Varanassi

Great day with a lovely guide
My girlfriend and I had a lovely day with Vivek as he showed us several Hindu temples, the university of Varanasi and introduced us to some local skilled weavers. He was very patient with us and explained everything in an easy to understand fashion. We felt comfortable asking questions and he was very good and kind company. I would highly recommend spending some time in his company learning about Varanasi.

          5* tour + 5* guide = Vivek ***** Yes!
I am a traveler who looks for a sincere, honest, and informative experience when taking a tour. As I arrived in the ancient city I spent ample time investigating and searching for the right tour. With referrals from local residents, I finally found the perfect tour with Vivek. He is an excellent guide, no hype, no hidden agenda, just incredibly knowledgeable and kind with a love for his city. He is a warm and sensitive communicator who made me feel like I was with an old friend. I felt the freedom to ask any and all questions about Varanasi’s history, spirituality and cultural practices and his responses were always sincere and respectful. And in the midst of Varanasi’s busy movement I felt completely safe and comfortable. The tour offered a great perspective into the daily activities of the people, their mystical temples and the heart and spirit of the city. He made great restaurant suggestions and pointed out special places beautifully obscure. I also went with Vivek on the morning and evening boat tour which were truly a photographer’s dream. The music and the Ganga and my new good friend Vivek made this tour so special, a dreamlike event for sure. Do not for one minute hesitate to take this unforgettable Heritage Walk! *****

We were a group of senior citizens 75+ age.
We visited the important temples like , Kashi Vishwanath, Kaal Bhairav, Sankat Mochan, and Tulsi Manas Mandir. Vivek our guide explained the
history and importance of each temple.
More important he guided us safely through the crowds even holding our hands when necessary.
Vivek is very honest and sincere.
If you are looking for a enjoyable tour I would recommend Vivek without hesitation.
