I recently took a sunrise tour to the Taj Mahal from Delhi, and while I did get to see this iconic wonder, the journey was far from what I expected. The company I used was Kohinoor Holidays! The driver picked me up at 2:30 am, and right from the start, I noticed something was off. He seemed half-awake, constantly zigzagging on the road, stopping frequently, and assuring me he was fine. Unfortunately, about an hour from Agra, my fears were realized when he drove the car into a concrete road rail—likely due to falling asleep at the wheel. Thankfully, we were unharmed, and the car was still functional, so we continued. I spent the rest of the drive talking to him just to keep him awake. We arrived at the Taj Mahal after sunrise—later than planned due to the stops and the accident—but I was honestly just grateful to be alive. After the Taj Mahal tour, things took another strange turn. The company kept taking me to various places I had no prior knowledge of or interest in, like a jewelry store where they pushed me to buy items. This happened at multiple stops, and I was confused and frustrated since these weren’t part of the plan. To top it off, on the way back to Delhi, the driver asked me to leave a review on TripAdvisor. He sent me a link via WhatsApp and was very insistent. He wanted to see my review and the star rating before I posted it, which made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. Being stuck in the car with him for the next four hours, I didn’t feel safe refusing, so I gave a good review just to avoid conflict. While the Taj Mahal itself was breathtaking, the journey and the way the tour was handled left me with mixed feelings. If you’re planning to visit, I’d recommend thoroughly researching tour companies and asking questions about the itinerary and safety measures. Your experience shouldn’t be overshadowed by stress and coercion.

This trip was above and beyond what I expected! I never had to worry about anything. They took excellent care and catered to all my needs and requests. My guide was Vipul and driver was Sanju and they both answered all my questions and imparted so much cultural knowledge and expertise. The whole trip was arranged for me including drivers, hotel reservations, plane tickets, and attraction tickets. I felt safe the whole time and because I was traveling alone that was very important to me. I felt like I got a unique tour experience with Kohinoor Holidays. I flew to Dehli and then was driven by Sanju to Agra and he was an excellent driver and the car was very comfortable. Vipul was my guide and allowed me the freedom to tailor the tour to what I wanted to see and spend more time where I wanted. Rishi met me at the hotel to welcome me and took me to a very good restaurant. I saw the Taj Mahal at sunrise and it was overwhelming! The size and beauty is difficult to capture in photos. I went to see how marble inlay is created and it is amazing that such intricate designs are handmade. I saw hand knotted rugs being made. I saw how hand sewn tapestries are created and spent time with Rahul who helped me choose a special tapestry and jewelry to fits me perfectly! I highly recommend this tour company. They treated me like family.

Our holiday with Kohinoor Holidays was something we will treasure for a very long time. We had a very smooth and enjoyable transit,stay and food. The hotels chosen was to our liking. Hotel staff were very accomodating. Very polite, and friendly. The cab drivers and tour leaders were courteous, punctual and trustworthy. Rishi also came and met us at the airport. He also met us in Agra and printed a pair of cups with a picture of us at the Taj Mahal earlier that day as a thoughtful birthday gift. We can’t thank him enough. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure we saw all the worthwhile sights, adding great insights along the way. Special shout-out to Sanju, our driver, who was fantastic—he made us feel safe throughout the journey and went out of his way to accommodate any request we had. My husband and I had a fantastic few days in India having used Kohinoor Holidays for the 4 day Golden Triangle as part of our trip. Sanju our driver has been a little gem he is polite, considerate and could not do enough for you. We had the same driver throughout. Our tour guides were Dave and Raj both were brilliant, very knowledgeable and had great camera skills, meaning we have brilliant photos and memories to take home! Kohinoor arranged everything for us from the flights to Deli, (we even had a phone call just after 6am the morning of the flight to advise us that the gate had been changed last minute) the superb accommodation together with all our entrance fees and planned our days. I would definitely recommend this trip one of our favourite sites was The Taj Mahal which was just fabulous and a must to see.

Perfect day with perfect weather in agra. i started very early in the morning in bangalore. than via airplane to dehli. e very friendly driver picked me up to agra in about 3 hours. and then with the guide past the long queue directly to the taj mahal. It couldn't be quicker. and i booked this trip two days ago. thanks a lot for that fantastic organization. i was very impresed by the taj mahal and the red forrest. the guide could give me a lot information from the history. if you "order" a photograph at the taj mahal please be careful. before you should know the complete price and benefits. 100INR for one foto is ok, but at the and I should pay for 100 pictures and a fotobook. I didn't want a photo book, but I had to take it. and most of the pictures were not that great. but i am also a photographer myself and may have a few more requirements. the other stations on our trip (marble handicrafts factory and souvenir shop) were not so nice. It was all about me buying something. but lunch in a famous restaurant was realy wonderful. it really tasted very good. back to benagalore with car and airplane in the late evening. what a wonderful and perfect timed day trip. thanks a lot!
