- brockd7180 contributionsTop-notch ServiceThis was my favorite tour in India (I've been here for three weeks as an American tourist, and I've toured several different cities at this point)! Tornos does it right -- they provide a wealth of information, water bottles, very nice car, and friendly service. My guide, Cyrus, was very friendly and helpful! It was a very enjoyable tour.Written June 26, 2023

- kimberlyaX5395WP0 contributionsLucknow mustWe had a seriously great day with our guide Narayan. He created the perfect custom itinerary for us - The Residency, Imambara & Labyrinth, Market and Old Town, plus lovely lunch and a great Chikan shop - and helped come up with a solution for our smaller budget - travelling around by rickshaw instead of air conditioned car. He was supremely knowledgable, really helped us understand the city and we had so much fun spending time with him. One of the highlights of our trip to India, and can’t recommend highly enough!Written October 20, 2022
- makennedy0 contributionsCyrus still doing great culinary tours in LucknowWe had a great evening with Cyrus last night tasting great non-veg dinner options in old Lucknow. He’s smart, with great insights on the long culinary and cultural traditions in Lucknow. We went to places we never would have found on our own. Great bag with water and eating utensils and a really insightful memo on culinary traditions.Written March 15, 2022
- Emmanuelazerty0 contributionsWonderful guidance in LucknowI highly recommend Tornos if you are visiting Lucknow. Our guide Narayan and our driver Ali were fantastic. The two day visit allowed us to discover many aspects of the city (main monuments, historical background, religious aspects and also street food!). Visiting the city with a very knowledgeable guide added a lot to the experience. Already looking forward to coming back.Written January 10, 2021

- 491freyar0 contributionsHad a great DayI booked this tour because I wanted to see Lucknow and obviously Agra but couldn't make both work easily. This was a great day. I was picked up early from my hotel and driven to lucknow where we picked up the guide and spent the day exploring Taj Mahal and Agra Forte. They provided me with snacks and water and made sure I was comfortable at all times. My driver was awesome, pointing out cool and interesting things along the drive. I even felt comfortable enough to have a nap both on the way there and way home.Written February 9, 2020
- john r0 contributionsLucknow tourI very much enjoyed this tour. The company, Tounos was very professional, as were their staff. My guide, Ravi, was really great and a wealth of information. Could not have been better. My surprise was the large extent of impressive architecture in the city and the interest of the Residency ruins from 1856. So a full tour that has added much to my knowledge. Thank you Ravi.Written November 26, 2019
- janetol10 contributionsTornos are excellentI was recently in Lucknow where I had asked Tornos to come up with a tailor-made tour. My friend and I were particularly interested in the chikan embroidery so wanted to visit SEWA where you can see items being stitched as well as buy the beautiful products. Tornos took on board our interests and put together a magnificent 2 day programme covering general sight-seeing, as well as food and heritage interests in addition to the handicrafts. We were looked after by the wonderful Cyrus who couldn't have been more helpful and incorporated every request we made. He was a mine of information and made the perfect our guide. Thank you Tornos.Written November 22, 2019
- ug_cal0 contributionsWalk, Eat, Enjoy, RepeatHad booked a shared walk but it happened that i was the only one that day. But Tornos did not cancel the trip. Met my guide/food expert Deepak around 7pm and walked through some of the most crowded lanes around Akbari Gate. We went to some fabulous restaurants that have been flag-bearers of Awadhi cuisine. He patiently explained the stories behind the restaurants, their food and the ingredients (not the secret recipes of course) or the style that made them special. We rounded off with some fabulous desserts and paan. Realizing that my interest lay in heritage and architecture, my guide even went out of the way to show me the Akbari Gate. While being the sole member was fun, i soon realized having single plates of each item was not easy for a small eater like me. I did not want to waste the lovely food. To Deepak's dismay, i had to ensure that i was served only wee portions for the sake of tasting. Yes, the lanes are crowded but there was no jostling or pushing around. Besides, Tornos' guides too help you negotiate the streets and the crowd. Photographers may find it a bit difficult to click as they please while on the tour because of the crowd and the paucity of time. I found it is better to get a hang of the place by joining the walking tour and then go back for proper photography. Do remember, the restaurants are definitely not plush but they are clean. Tornos provided a handy jute bag which contained a bottle of drinking water, two sets of cutlery, and wet wipes. So if you are finicky about using the restaurants' cutlery or drinking the local water, you don't have to worry. Can't wait to try out their other tours.Written April 2, 2019
- Ozpaddo0 contributionsTornos - The Tour Company all the rest should be like. This is my 6th day tour in India and was amazed by the professionalism of this company. Firstly they called me on the day before to confirm the time and itinerary, not me having to chase them. Upon being picked up, they presented me with a Welcome Bag which was full of goodies which was on top of the selection in the back of the car.The staff were pleasant, charming and courteous but what amazed me was the depth of knowledge that Ravi had. Knowing a bit about the Murgal times, Ravi immediately answered all my questions in full and without having to look up Wiki like other tour operators have done. Not only was the trip great but this is the first time I have not been hassled by an Indian service provider to write a review. I wrote this because I wanted to !!! Not only is this trip total value for money, it is well presented and thoroughly informative. I recommend this trip and wish all other Indian tour companies would become like them.Written November 18, 2018
- JJB777770 contributionsFood on the moveBefore we came on our first visit to India we were told to be careful of eating street food, but having been on the tour with Cyrus there is nothing to worry about. He takes you through different restaurants for each course, with your own cutlery in a bag! It’s not just tasting the delicious food but hearing about their origins as well. Really is a must-do event if you visit Lucknow.Written March 28, 2018
- Ryan F0 contributionsTasting the Delights of Lucknow! This was a great evening, tasting the famous Adwahi cuisine of Lucknow. It was handled wonderfully and efficiently by Tornos, and the food was absolutely delicious. Our guide was knowledgable and passionate about the food, and came equipped with mineral water and cutlery for us to use in each restaurant. We had been in India for three weeks, so weren't surprised by the cleanliness of street food shops, but even if we hadn't been, Tornos would have put our minds at ease. I highly recommend this tour--and Tornos in general, for all our tourism needs in Lucknow and the surrounding Uttar Pradesh region.Written December 21, 2017
- Trish K0 contributionsIndian street foodMy husband and I recently joined our guide Cyrus on a very informative culinary walking tour of the old city area of Lucknow. The food Cyrus chose for us was tasty and reflected the traditional cuisine of old Lucknow. Cyrus explained in detail the origins and cooking methods which we saw first hand in the market place. This is definitely worth doing if you would like to experience authentic Indian street food with a local guide with outstanding knowledge of his subject. We also joined Cyrus for a private cooking demonstration after which we were served the dishes he cooked for us. There was much discussion and Cyrus and his assistant were only too happy to share their extensive knowledge and experience of Indian food. Thank you, most enjoyable.Written April 24, 2017
