- zachfell0 contributionsRajasthan adventureWe had an incredible time with Sumit and the Kanha family doing the afternoon/evening Camel safari. A truly incredible experience and a must do Rajasthan adventure. Highly recommend this for anyone spending a couple of days exploring Jodhpur.Written October 6, 2024

- Sightseer667072699870 contributionsCamel ride and temple tourWe enjoyed a great tour with Ray as our driver. He transported us to the Osian desert area where we met our camels and their tenders. We were led on a nice morning camel ride to the camel tender’s home. There we relaxed, watched the village people do their daily duties, enjoyed some masala chai and a nice homemade breakfast. We rode camels back to our drop off point and Ray was waiting for us. From there Ray drove us to the temple where we were given time to explore on our own. It was easy to navigate and cool to see the old temple. After that we were driven to “the jungle” a large export area and shown some textiles and antiques. It was an all-around great tour. Ray was a fantastic driver and very safety conscious. The village family that welcomed us were gracious hosts and we enjoyed their hospitality. We would recommend this tour to our friends and family without hesitation!Written June 11, 2024
- Venture574178891010 contributionsMust do to come down from the too much India! We booked only the camel safari -which I would definitely recommend! Don’t do Jeep safari! Than you have half the time on the camel. The driver Virendra Singh was absolutely perfect. He was so good and we always felt save in the car even at the night! He also accompanied us to the Tempel. The Tempel is nice but we think that there are a lot of more worth seeing in Rajastan and the golde triangle. So don’t spend too much time there. Regarding the camels we were a bit concerned before - because often camels are treated badly for tourism purposes. But we had the impression that the camels are treated at least not bad. They had their own place at the home, the owner gave them a pause for drinking after the ride. You can never be sure 100% but it felt okay. The camel guide was super nice. He let us enjoy the safari with camels and nature in a calm way. You have to know before that there is not the typical desert. But noteworthy the landscape, more like a steppe, is really beautiful and we enjoyed it a lot! His family was super welcoming. When you have the time we would definitely recommend to stay there for a night (Dhanna Ram Ali Dhani home stay). It’s just a special place and it gives you a feeling of the true simple countryside life. The food was super delicious although it was quite a simple dish we would definitely recommend it - and even our weak European stomachs had no problems with it. For the way back you can chose between camel or jeep (depends on what you booked). We would defined recommend the camel. It’s unjust an amazing view with the sunset a the camels. At the end in our European eyes the price is valid the experience. Especially because it is a 1,5h in an AC car.Written April 4, 2024
- Cruiser410215423300 contributionsBeautiful cameltour! The tour was amazing! The driver was very friendly and drove us safely to a pick up point in the desert. There we met two members of a family, who did the camel tour with us. I really enjoyed riding on the camel. The desert was peaceful and calm. After 45 minutes we arrived at the house of the family. It was super interesting and the food we ate was really delicious. After some time we rode back on the camels. It was incredibly beautiful while sunset. I really would recommend this experience!Written March 21, 2024
- 706maleenw0 contributionsPeaceful experience 😊It was such a nice experience! The driver, guide and familiy were so friendly and careful. For me it was a big highlight during my stay in Jodhpur. Being in the desert, seeing the life of people in the village was a pleasant change to the life in the big cities. I felt very grateful and peaceful after this ride on the camel during the sunset. Would recommend this experience everyone who stay in Jodhpur!Written March 20, 2024
- florianj8500 contributionsAwesome ExperienceWe had a driver which took us from Jodhpur to Osian. From there we were riding with the Camels through beautiful Desert-Landscapes to the Camel-Farm where the Family lives. There they cooked traditional food for us, which was delicious :) After that, riding back on the camels to the point where our driver was already waiting for us. It was possible to chance the scedule to our wishes and needs. It was all in all a fantastic Experience with nice and friendly people:)Written March 20, 2024
- Jack W0 contributionsCamel Tour - March 2024Me and my friend thoroughly enjoyed this tour! We were picked up promptly by our guide Ritesh who was incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable about any topic we discussed. Ritesh was a great guide throughout and such an asset to his organisation! I wasn’t feeling well, so we only opted for the camel tour/safari and not the addition of the jeep ride but if you can I’d say to do both. Despite being ill, the camel tour was great! The views of the landscape and wildlife in such peaceful surroundings was a refreshing change after two weeks of travelling different cities. The family too was incredibly friendly and invited us to view the kitchen where they made the food. As I was ill I didn’t eat which they completely understood, but my friend said the food was absolutely delicious and he finished his and mine! If you’re looking for things to do in Jodhpur I would definitely recommend this activity and Ritesh if he is available. We found this company to be reliable and very professional and we had great fun on the camel ride. Such a great experience!Written March 5, 2024
- conorcallan30 contributionsExcellent excursionAbsolutely incredible Experience, booked this last minute and was the best decision made of my trip, our driver was very knowledgeable, kind and helpful bringing us all the way to the camel ride and temple, the jeep safari was brilliant and the camel ride was exceptional, the family that fed us in their home was amazing! They also have guest houses at the camel ride although I don't know where to book them. I would do this any time I return to Jodhpur. Another shout out to our wonderful guide and his lovely comfortable Air conditioned car!Written March 5, 2024
- akritik20210 contributionsCamel Safari, Jeep Safari, Dhana Family home experienceMy husband and I are on a mini vacation after our recent wedding from the US, and we came to Jodhpur quite last minute to find this gem on trip advisor. First off, phenomenal customer service. I was unable to go on my scheduled day due to feeling unwell from travel, and they accommodated switching the tour for the next day. Then, a driver and tour guide picked us up from our hotel promptly on time and drove us to the Osian desert to our camels (Jigar and Michael Jackson) with Mr. Dhana. Mr. Dhanaji offered great care with our camels, who were so gentle and mine loved to be pet. The views were gorgeous, the great Feb weather made it even better! We ended the camel tour at Dhanaji family home, briefly met their sweet family, learned about their lives, had the most delicious tea and home-made food! Then we ended the tour with the jeep safari, which was a lot of fun! We got to cover a lot of the desert and also enjoy a beautiful sunset! All in all, a totally unique experience. We loved hearing about the family, their experiences, and their work! To clarify, Jodhpur has desert where we went, but it is not the sand dunes you imagine in Jaisalmer. Also they’ve been blessed with more rainfall the last several years, so this time of year you’ll see a lot more greenery and plant life than vast sand dunes. However, the views of the farmlands and wild life were spectacular, and food and hospitality is highly recommended from us! Recommendations: Comfortable shoes and outfits to sit on the camel. My flip flops were definitely going to plop off. I’d recommend sandals with straps and comfortable pants/shorts or cotton suits/dresses. Also, recommend a light jacket for the sunset as it tends to cool down and for the windy keep ride.Written February 26, 2024
- DayTrip422838231500 contributionsGreat day exploringRay picked me up from my hotel, he arrived early so when I was ready, we could leave. Ray was a great guide through Jodhpur and Osyan. The temple was larger than others I've seen in this trip, with many shrines to explore. The camel was waiting to take me to the village. I quizzed Ashok, the camels owner, about the area and the plants. I joined his family for dinner, the main dish was carrot based which we had seen being harvested on the trip in. The sun was setting on the way back. The hour and a half camel ride was the right amount of time. It was a good break from the horns of the city. I would recommend this tour.Written February 5, 2024
- T7288VKanthonyl0 contributionsCamel ride of your life!Jodhpur camel ride is for those wanting to get out of the bustling city and experience something unique in the state of Rajasthan! Ray drove me out of the city and to the stop point for the camel ride, this took 1hr 15 minutes and much chatting about Indian life. He also asked if id like to stop at a superior temple near the camel farm, which i did and it is beautiful. Sumer met me with the camel (named Michael Jackson, not even joking :D) and guided me on my first camel journey. He was knowledgeable on camels, originating from a family of farmers with many camels, who cooked some wonderful food for me and showed me around their farm. Which has some great modern huts that are available to rent out through Air b n b. After Sumer took me back to the pick up point on camel, Ray offered many suggestions on places to visit afterwards, to which I declined due to tiredness. Would totally recommend.Written January 9, 2024
- travelRMS0 contributionsAwesome experience with tasty authentic foodGreat Experience. Hitesh was very informative & Hospitality of Dhanaram and his family was awesome!!! However I would not rate this experience as Desert Safari as not much Desert to explore, Camel ride is mostly through green fields. Jeep Safari was excellent. Overall, great experience in Jodhpur.Written January 7, 2024

- rakomaster0 contributionsA memorable camel safari at Jodhpur villageOne of those days that will stay in my memory forever. We were escorted by the toot operator though the muddy terrain on a 4x4 to the village where we were quickly whisked on the camels. The camel ride was memorable and leisurely as we strolled through the village and dessert terrains while watching the sun go down. Then they set up a campfire and we had few drinks while chatting with the locals. We finished the trip with Marwari simple vegetarian food and then left for our hotelWritten December 17, 2023
