Had a great experience with camel safari. Nice homestay and very hospitable people. Be there for sunset view.

A trip to India would not be the same without a camel ride but I didn’t expect such an amazing experience. Another side of Indian life. Quiet, serene, absolutely beautiful scenery. Neat, tidy farms interspersed with wilderness. I saw eagles, wild antelope and a gray fox atop a majestic camel. Even more significant was learning about Sumer’s work in creating a school for his village where they learn Hindi, English and eventually computer coding and expanding his fathers Dhanys 25 year camel expeditions into offering home stays in traditional grass topped huts equipped though with large, very modern bathrooms. I was so impressed with this young man and the legacy he’s creating for the people around him. Had I known in advance I would have booked a couple of nights.

We absolutely loved every moment of this safari tour. We were collected from our hotel by Sumer who was extremely friendly and welcoming. After a pleasant drive with a short stop at the temple in Osian, Sumer took us for our Jeep ride which was so much fun! We managed to see gazelle, lizards and a mongoose and Sumer told us all about the desert farming practices. We arrived at Sumer’s beautiful family home, where we were welcomed by Sumer’s family and offered some tasty Chai. We learnt all about the homestay and the great work Sumer and his family do helping to teach children in the village, after which we were treated to a delicious home cooked meal. The hospitality was unparalleled. Finally, as the sun was getting ready to set, we departed on the camels and had an unforgettable ride back with gorgeous sunset views of the desert, before being driven back to our hotel. Throughout the tour Sumer took some amazing photos for us - the other reviews are right, he has incredible photography skills!! I cannot recommend this enough. Thank you Sumer and family!

An unforgettable and absolute must experience! We’d had our fill of the hectic city and wanted to do something slower paced. After reading the superb reviews for this safari, we decided to book, and I’m so glad we did! Sumer arrived on time to collect us from our hotel in Jodhpur and we drove to Sachiya Mata Temple. We then arrived in the desert for the jeep safari, which was thrilling. We saw some amazing wildlife including mongoose, antelope, gazelle and lizards, and Sumer was so knowledgable, explaining to us all about the different animals and plants that we saw on the journey. We took some photos in the jeep and on the sand dunes - Sumer is a fantastic photographer and dedicated to getting the absolute best shot to keep for memories of our visit. We then drove to Sumer’s village and met his family in their home. We were given chai on arrival and Sumer’s mother prepared a delicious meal for us, including homemade chapati, curry and the carrots that we’d seen growing in the village just outside. Sumer sat with us and told us all about the admirable work he does teaching the village children. Then we set off on our camel safari across the desert during sunset, which was an incredibly peaceful and joyful experience. The camels are clearly well cared for and treated as family. After another amazing set of photos courtesy of Sumer, we were taken back to our hotel. I cannot recommend this experience enough. It has been the highlight of our visit to India so far, and I don’t think I could do justice here describing just what an incredible time we had.

We had a great time riding camels through the beautiful landscape and farming area outside Osian. Our guide, Sumer, was excellent- really enjoyed learning about the area, his village and his camels. We then were served a delicious lunch inside his home / he was very gracious, excellent hospitality!

Amazing village tour and camel safari! I found this tour and worked with Sumer to customize it for our interests and timeframe! His family was so welcoming and the village was absolutely beautiful. The lunch of potato and buttermilk curries was delicious! The camel ride was excellent and exciting!!

Really a house warming feeling, good setup for the guest, u can get everything over here camel safari, open Jeep ride, home made food. Good view for sunset. Lovely family who took care of their guests.

Our time with Sumer and his family was amazing! It was such an incredible experience to ride on two of their camels through the Osian desert being led by Sumer’s father who has been doing this for 25 years and we are so happy we’ve been able to tick that off our bucket list. We were welcomed into their home for some lovely food and to see some of the local children learning keyboard and typing skills to help them later on in life. If you are ever in Jodhpur we would 100% recommend doing a camel safari with Sumer and his father and if you enjoy the peace and quiet in their village you can even stay at their homestay which we would have loved to do if we had more time in India!

We reached Osian after a one and half hour drive from Jodhpur Our Camel safari started adjacent from the road and were taken via sand path surrounded by green vegetations. The camels were strong and huge and the terrain was hilly and scenic . Our 3 camels with us on top followed each other with their owners ( Sumer and Ashok ) walking besides and maneuvered through the hilly terrain beautifully. We had an nice Rajasthani veg meal at their house after which started with the Jeep safari. Jeep safari was thrilling and fun. Be careful of your hats and glasses flying off.... It was an unique experience

We would highly recommend this tour for an authentic experience and view of rural India. We had a one hour drive from Jodhpur to the temple in Osian, followed by a quick look around the temple, which is surrounded by small stalls and markets. The camel trek was incredible, walking up and down sand dunes, in and around shrubs, with views around. We loved that it took us through a rural farming village. The guide made sure we were comfortable and took lots of photos of us. Following the camel trek, we had some delicious food and tea at the family's local house, greeted in a traditional Indian way. The jeep ride was one of the best experiences we've had. Up and down tracks, along the top of sand dunes and more. The guide gave us information on the surrounding area too. There is the option to stay at their village for one night or more, and we would highly recommend this for a welcoming and authentic experience.

Lovely and peaceful, the perfect break away from busy cities! Sumer and his family were very welcoming and happy to assist us with anything we needed. We were cooked amazing food by his mum Samu, some of the best food we have had on our trip and even learnt a few skills in the kitchen too! We enjoyed a peaceful camel ride to watch the sunset and Sumer taught us all about their land and their rural lifestyle. Our room was very accommodating, we had great bathroom/shower facilities and a great place to sleep, wether that be under the stars or within our room! Highly recommend for anyone wanting to get away from the crowds for a little while or even just something a little different!

Had an amazing stay with Sumer and his family at their lovely home in the Desert of Osian. They welcome you as if you are family and continue with the hospitality throughout your stay. All the essentials are supplied including fresh drinking water, incredible chai and delicious home cooked food made by Samu. This is a place where you can explore the local village life and see children enjoying themselves without modern technology. Quite honestly a great place to switch off, relax, and reconnect with nature away from the hustle and bustle of Indian cities. Do not hesitate to book a stay with Sumer and his family. It offers a completely different perspective to Indian life and culture.

It was the best travel experience I've ever had. Stars were shining in the night sky. Parasailing in the desert was thrilling and fun.

The owner was always sincere and helpful. It was so nice to sleep under the millions of stars. This was my first experience with camel rides and was so beautiful to see the sunrise.Welcome drink was chai:)

Excellent stay with Sumer and his lovely family. We did a great camel safari and a jeep safari. Sleeping under the stars was a highlight. The food was amazing and the kids enjoyed playing with kids and his mum’s cooking classes. Highly recommended!
