Excellent intro to South Indian cuisine
I was very lucky to be the only person on my food tour so had an excellent time with Shekar. We went to 3 different restaurants and had delicious Uddina Vada, Idli and finally the best Masala Dosa (I’d had a few dosa’s before this one and can say this is definitely the best). Then it’s a tour around a small food and flower market before having Curd Vada and traditional filter coffee at the end of the tour. The food was fantastic and Shekar was a great guide - knowledgeable about the food and the history of it, the local neighbourhood and food customs. I’d recommend doing this tour as soon as you get to Bangalore so you know what to order for the rest of your time in South India!

Mouth watering food trail in Bangalore
The Filter Kaapi trail is a fantastic food walk in Bangalore. It's a great way to savour the famous local cuisine of South India. Chandrashekar was our guide and he took us to local eat outs to taste the best of what Bangalore has to offer. The dosa we had was mind blowing and so was the famous filter coffee. Eating these local favourites in eateries is a great way to know about Bangalore and it's people. I would
recommend this food walk to everyone.

Great authentic food and thoughtful guide for Bangalore and South India
Oct 2019
I had the pleasure of Chandrasekhar for a guide as we walked through the shady streets of the Malleswaram district. Its an easy walk and fascinating area. The three eateries visited had heritage going back fifty to one hundred and thirty years. The food was amazing, interesting spices, and a great coffee to end the tasting. I dont normally drink coffee but this was really really good. If you want to feel the district coming to life as the shops open, the food smells, the organised chaos, the culture, and the friendliness of walking an area less discovered by travelers, this is for you.

The dosa was amazing! A highlight.

Chandrasekar was a wonderful host and guide. He is a long tine resident of Malleshwaram and knew the best local restaurants for us. We went to 5 restaurants each known best for one dish! Over 3 hours we had the best dosa, idly. Vada sambar, pongal and coffee. An amazing idea for a morning walk. I would highly recommend this to all foodies who like to learn about a city through its food.

Excellent food walk in Bangalore
Jul 2019 • Friends
The food walk was great. We were taken to local restaurants famous for south indian delicacies. The dosa I had here was the crispiest ever I have had in India. Vada sambar was also delicious. Chandrashekar helped us in explaining the origin as well as the specialty of each dish. He was very patient and keen to get us taste all the delicacies! I would highly recommend this food tour as its a great way to spend the day as a local.

I loved the filter Kaapi trail done by Chandrasekar. It was a relaxed Sunday morning food walk. It was quite a refreshing change from the hurry of a week day. The food was outstanding and I had the choicest of Indian snacks comprising Idli, Dosa, Vada and the 4 yard coffee as was revealed for me by Chandra!

I signed up on the kaapi trail in bangalore and it turned out to be a great one. The food was simply amazing. Chandrasekar had meticulously picked the best local restaurants which make the best dosa, vada and coffee. We even had an exotic idly covered in jackfruit leaves. A terrific morning spent.
