    Fantastic and enriching local experience
I wouldn’t have been able to go into many of the places or even known of their existence without this tour. It was a fascinating insight into the local culture and city life. The tour inside the weavers area was particularly enriching and not something you could just do on your own. I only had a day and did 2 tours- the pettah walk of the market area and the old houses tour. I’d love to do more next time in Bengaluru.

A Most Colorful Walking Tour of Old Bangalore
I found Mansoor via TripAdvisor and decided to take the old city tour. Communicating with him was super easy on WhatsApp, which came in handy as I got stuck in the crazy city traffic trying to get to our meeting point at the front of Jamia Masjid. I arrived almost 20 minutes late and Mansoor was patiently waiting and did not shorten my tour - many thanks for that! I absolutely loved going through the flower, fruit, veg and merchandise marts. Mansoor is a fountain of knowledge and relayed the information very clearly. He has a wealth of facts and history about the entire old city in Bangalore. I had the afternoon tour so lunch was included at an incredible locals place. He provided me with a great selection of foods. He also was mindful of guiding me through the incredibly tight alleys and streets teeming with people. A word of caution, there is A LOT of walking so be prepared for that, as well as the heat. I was advised to wear long pants for modesty as well as keeping the mosquitoes away. We ended the tour at nightfall at a glorious Hindu Temple. Mansoor even arranged & negotiated a tuk tuk to take me back to my hotel. I would highly recommended touring with Mansoor & Benbyfoot. Well done!

    Bangalore fort
It was an amazing experience to visit an historical place like Bangaluru Fort The doors are so big and enough to protect people inside, you will find big surrounding walls which are made by keeping set by one by one stone Though inside area is not acceptable and the back gate of the Fort is starting damage also inside a little bit garden also there Photography is not provided here.

Heritage walks in Bangalore. Bangalore on foot
It was an excellent walk to well selected places. The explanations were very informative and our group of four learned a great deal about aspects of of Bangalore which one doesn’t find in guide books. The face to face experience is irreplaceable. Since the first walk was so good, we went again the next day. These walks are highly recommendable. Thank you.

    Memorable experience
For my first time to Bangalore, this tour was a very memorable part of our trip! We explored areas of town we would have never seen otherwise, and ate the best dosa ever with our guide. It was the perfect amount of time and walking.

Too much money for what it was
Our guide was very nice but the tour was nothing special unless this was your first ever market tour We saw a pretty flower and vegetable market and a small temple . We had quite a bit of information about the temple . Breakfast was at dosa house and then we saw the weavers and dye houses which made the tour worthwhile and these I would have never found without the guide To be fair this last bit was worth the money fir me but the rest was nothing special if yiu have seen other markets and temple

    An opportunity to see 'behind-the-scenes'.
This 3 hour walking tour provided an opportunity for a 'behind-the-scenes' view of the markets and back streets of Bangalore; taking me to places that non-locals wouldn't see. For me, it is tours such as this one that provides experiences that I find more memorable than tours that simply drive past places of interest. Our Guide, Ali, was very personable and knowledgeable, which added to the experience. Recommended if you like immersing yourself into areas that provide insights into the day-to-day life of a city.

    Architect as your friendly guide
This walk is super awesome. Mr Ali is very knowledgeable and takes immense interest personally to explain the heritage and safeguarding the same. He is an architect by training so the experience becomes much more interesting. I highly recommend his guidance if one wants to explore Bangalore.

Very pleasant tour with many intresting stops. True highlights are the breakfast and the various temples. In general walking somewhere in Bangalore can be challenging, but on this tour, the route is chosen such that you mostly walk on decent sidewalks or through parks.

Pensioners' Paradise, State capital, IT hub, Start-up leader, Bengaluru is all that, but is just not that. While the collective myopia towards her past is buttressed by the fact that the city bears only a fraction of monuments vis-a-vis Delhi ( 50 versus 3500), Bengaluru is no apologist when it comes to her eventful history and glorious heritage. She has had her fair share of rulers and raiders, martyrs and traitors, builders and destroyers, and able and not so able administrators. They speak to us through their legacy strewn all around , and then there is Mansoor , a qualified architect, and a passionate narrator of the days gone by.
He led me in the footsteps of Tipu Sultan, introducing Kempegowda, the Wodeyars and Hyder Ali along the way, importing and seamlessly weaving in the "French Connection" and Napoleon and George Washington into the narrative. Join him on this trail when you are in the city. As for myself, I have just taken the first footsteps. Thank you, Mansoor!

Our Family (Wife, Parents and I) had an opportunity to participate in a Heritage Walk with Bengaluru by Foot (Mr.Mansoor).

The walk started with an interesting introduction about the history of Bengaluru City that featured Kempegowda Maharaj, British Era and more.

We had the pleasure of visiting a Heritage Home in Basavangudi and also interacted with the family.

We developed a lot of admiration for the family values of Mr. M.R. Narendra, after interacting with him. We were amazed by the wisdom and hard-work that had been put in building and maintaining this home. Mr.Mansoor did a wonderful job in explaining us all this in Hindi Language 

We also visited a very popular temple and a park in Basavanagudi. We were mesmerized by the stories associated with the temple and the walk in the park was very memorable.

The day ended with sumptuous dosas at the very popular Vidhyarathi Bhavan. We also tried few chat items at Asha Sweets (though this was not part of the walk)

Mr.Mansoor is very knowledgeable and ensured that this was a memorable experience for all of us.

Mansoor is the best tour guide. I took a tour with him last year which was also amazing. This tour takes you through places you could not experience by car. I greatly enjoyed all the sights along the walk. We also enjoyed the world’s best Dosa breakfast!

After breakfast in a place that I read about in Janaki Nair's book on the history of Bangalore metropolis to a short cut and walk through the bat sprinked park and watch tower we made our way to the Basvangudi (Nandi temple) and to other equally fascinating and serene temples of many gods, stopping by trees with serpent stones. The walk included folklore surrounding the festivals of groundnuts and makar sakranti, and involved visiting weathering homes. The layers of past that included Kempe Gowda as well as more recent types of flour mills of stone and machinery and a washing ghat of a traditional community served as a broad and captivating introduction to this area of Bangalore. Easy to remove footwear and small change would be perfect accessories for this walk due to the many temples involved.
It was a happy walk with our guide who comes from Basvangudi and has long standing relations with the local people and a through research backing up his guided walks. He is also an architect and so it was all the more interesting to know the dates of different buildings and types of construction materials used in the area. I found the walk very useful for getting to this region, a portion of which I plan to include in my research on the history of Bangalore. I would highly recommend this walk!
