A multi-dimensional experience, perfect for tourists and expats alike, this tour touches upon food, markets, religion, social awareness, craft, art, lifestyle... and more! You have a half day and a full day option, and the program accommodates the requests of participants as much as possible. It's a mix of religion, markets, local people, local food, coffees and teas, local traditions, local professions like pottery, washermen, a visit to the biggest slum in the city, some NGO visits where you see recycling of garbage into beautiful ranges of merchandise, and women's empowerment. This tour is considered the most fulfilling, wholesome experience you can possibly take home from Bangalore. The program evolves depending on the group that comes together, keeping it fluid and adaptive. See and experience the true essence of Bangalore!

What to expect
Select a 4-hour or 8-hour tour when you book. Then, meet your guide and group of no more than 15 in central Bangalore. Your guide will listen to your group’s interests, and tailor the itinerary around your shared wishes, evolving and improvising your experience on the spot if need be. Perhaps take a drive around some colonial-era buildings, old roads, and parliamentary districts before discovering off-the-beaten track gems such as scrapyards where inventive programs are helping Bangalore’s poor.  Stop for breakfast (own expense) at a Snake Temple, explore alleyways to see arts, crafts, and religious activities; stroll through food markets; and maybe gossip with locals over tea and coffee (own expense) at an old café. Other options include exploring a farmer’s market, viewing a Sikh temple or Kali temple in the heart of a Hindu cemetery, or seeing Bangalore’s oldest church and the scrapyard behind it where dubious car parts are traded. For those interested in art and crafts, perhaps visit a local pottery village to try pottery-making, or a cartoon gallery where artists capture Bangalore in caricatures. If you’ve chosen the full-day tour, stop for lunch in a traditional Karnataka tasting room or at an authentic local family home (both own expense). Other possible activities include visiting a women’s empowerment project in Bangalore’s slums, block printing a silk scarf, or watching a rangoli street artist creating delicate pavement patterns from rice and flowers. Alternatively, call at Bangalore’s famous Bull Temple or an ISKCON (Hare Krishna) temple, or maybe have your future told by a parakeet-aided astrologer. Perhaps finish with some souvenir shopping, scouting out saris, silks, or other goods at some of the city’s best markets. When it’s time, your tour ends at the original departure point.

Bespoke tour of Bangalore
My family (3 daughters aged 20-25 and my wife and I) were recommended Culturerings by friends in Bangalore. Aashish was our guide for the day and met us promptly in our hotel foyer at 9am ahead of full day private tour. We did a mix of temples, old Colonial buildings, markets and Palaces/Forts. The highlight was stopping for lunch with a family at their house in the centre of town which was absolutely amazing. We did not stop talking all day and found out so much more about the history, culture and day to day life of Bangalore. We finished the day with a little meditation at a retreat near our hotel - something my wife had specifically asked for. All in all it was an absolutely fantastic day where we saw, learnt and experienced so much. Well done Aashish who was an excellent guide who spoke perfect English. And well done Culturerings for offering such a unique tour.

Culture Tours at its best in Bangalore
Dec 2018 • Business
It's one thing to visit a place and go sightseeing around to know the culture and story of the place and another to actually indulge in some hands-down experience at the place. Culture rings is one such company that gives you the best of both worlds. I had an amazing experience of Bangalore's little known wonders. It started with the Big Bull temple which dates back centuries ago of how the temple came to being, proceeding to the vibrant market of flowers and spices and fresh vegetables, a delight for the eye. Then it was the potter's town where I was lucky to have visited during the Ganesh festival and so I could see the intricacies of working around the clay to replicate the deity. Lastly was the I was in awe of the Kali temple as it was headed by priestesses and learnt a lot about the legend of the goddess. All in all it was an enthralling experience one that I will never forget from start to end it was smooth filled with immense knowledge and communication was easy... thanks to the guide. I would highly recommend culture rings for anyone who wants to experience magic in just a few hours.

Cemetery Walk
This was the most different and a unique experience! Hidden between the hustle and bustle of the city is a place with eccentric culture! The walk was conducted very well and the culture was explained really well by Aashish. 10/10 would recommend!

Wonderful Day Experiencing Bangalore
Dec 2018 • Business
We visited Bangalore on business travel and had an extra day to explore the city. We choose to do a 6-hour Experiential Culture Tour of Bangalore with Jackie as our guide. It was a wonderful experience that felt like visiting with a close friend as she shared some of her favorite aspects of the city and Indian culture. It was a highlight of our time in India.

A wonderful way to see all the best parts of the city, especially if you're interested in seeing the real Bangalore from a local perspective, not just what tourists should see. The driver and guide were fantastic. I can't imagine seeing this city any other way. Love Bangalore!

A Must-do in Bangalore!
Feb 2018 • Family
Culture Rings provides incredible tours with great local knowledge and personal touches. They are highly flexible and offer a range of options for anyone. I have taken a tour with my 6 & 8 year old, who got to design and create their own clothes, make pots and tour Bangalore palace 'with a real princess'! I've also had an adults-only tour, including 'the best food in Bangalore' in a beautiful home, visiting temples and markets and getting a real insight into local life from designer homes to slums.
The company also has a strong social conscience and you can visit 'Shanti Bhavan' a school for the Dalit (or so-called 'untouchable') caste that is breaking the cycle of poverty in a generation (and featured on Netflix's documentary 'Daughters of Destiny') as well as ANU, a female empowerment project in the slums of Bangalore.
Amazing work, wonderful people and insider tips make this a must-do in Bangalore, whether you're here for a visit or a long-term Bangalorean. Just fabulous.

Great city tour of Bangalore with extra touch
We filled a minibus with a mixed age group from 50-8 and we all had a great day !

Our guide gave the trip that extra touch with her reflections and insight to what we saw during the tour. We had a traditional lunch cooked and served in a home in the city centre and had a nice and interesting conversation with the family. To be able to visit a home in Bangalore was a great experience.

We saw historical places, flower and vegetables markets, temples, pottery town, car scrap yard, washing etc

We did some Rangoon which engaged is all

Highly recommend to take a tour in Bangalore with Bluefoot it will add another dimension to the city.
