We visited Pistachioland after spending the morning at White Sands National Park. The farm tour is $3 per person and worth the money….Tara did a great job explaining the wine and pistachio business and made it fun at the same time. Enjoyed the pistachio tastings, as well! And, of course, bought some for the road.

This was our first stop during our family trip to travel across New Mexico and Arizona. We found the tour to be very interesting and learned a lot about how pistachios grow and are harvested. The tour is very inexpensive and we highly recommend you take the time to learn about the farm.

The Pistachio Land business and the giant pistachio at the highway are all tourist attractions. But the farm tour is seriously interesting. It takes about an hour. We paid $3 apiece for the tickets. Our guide was great. Our grandchildren, ages 7 and 9, really enjoyed the tour.
Heads up - There is only one tour per hour on the hour, The tour cart only holds 20 visitors. The tickets can sell out quickly. So check on ticket availability before you spend time eating ice cream or shopping in the gift store.

I visited here for the first time 2 years ago when I first moved to Alamogordo. I visited again today when my parents came into town and it was just as exciting as the first time. You truly can’t come here without taking a tour. It only cost about 6 bucks for 3 people, very worth it to support this local business. I always love hearing the story about how this farm came to be and how their pistachios are grown. Matt was our tour guide and he did awesome. Very friendly and knowledgeable!

This was a fun stop after the White Sands! We started with a tour and our guide Katie was both knowledgeable and entertaining. It was fascinating learning about the grafting process and the meaning behind the installation of the giant pistachio sculpture. Wine tasting with Matt was educational and both couples purchased bottles of the Pistachio wine. After sampling the various options we each landed on our favorite. Mine was plain roasted & salted and my husband loved the pistachio brittle. Our luggage is several pounds heavier due to the numerous purchases

Try to make it here near the hour to first go on a very short but informative tour of the nut orchard and vineyard. They grow five types of grapes here and two types of pistachios. Did you know grapes use 5 times the water pistachios do? Did you know a pistachio tree gives you a heavy crop every two years (up to 45 pounds/tree)? Did you know you need male and female trees? Did you know bees are not involved in the process of pollinating these trees? And much more about the collection of the nuts, the roasting, the processing… Our guide was a young girl studying to be a primary school teacher – glad to support her.

The store is massive, and you can taste the various pistachio nut offerings from salty to spicy to sweet to hot… there are cookies and ice cream for sale as well. If you buy more than $10 worth of product you get a card for a 10% discount on the next purchase. You get $1 off on ice cream or a free cookie if you take the tour first (show your tour card). Tours are $2/per adult…

I’m so glad we took the time to stop at PistachioLand! We thought that it might be a little hokey, but no, It Was Really Fun & Interesting!!! We thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour by “James” through the pistachio fields, we learned a lot and he was very entertaining as well!
The Wine Tasting was also a real hit! 🍷 We ended up buying several bottles of wine, including a couple of bottles of Pistachio Wine to gift friends with. We also loved sampling the dozens & dozens of pistachio flavors they’ve created. SO tasty! We bought several bags of pistachio flavors for ourselves and friends & family!
There was such a great selection of gift items at the store AND the customer service was top notch! Also, I gotta mention, my waffle ice-cream cone was delicious too!
We highly recommend PistachioLand … 5 star +

We come here every time we visit Alamogordo. Unfortunately due to Covid there was no samples. The gift shop is much larger than our last visit. You can buy all kids of southwestern goodies. They also sell baskets that I have sent for Christmas presents. We did the wine tasting and bought a bottle of pomegranate wine. They have a Koi pond and ice cream parlor. The tour was fun and very informative. I would not buy tickets on line, it half as much to buy them at the store. We arrived at 3, bought tickets for the 4:00 tour right away and then did our shopping and wine tasting. I think the tour was about 30 min definitely worth the $2 ticket. The giant pistachio is a unique photo op!

Thank you so much for visiting! Yes, there are a few things we have had to halt due to COVID; however, there are great photo ops, the tour, and many delicious pistachios, candies, and wines that we make on-site ourselves. The gift baskets we sell are also 15% through Christmas, so stock up online at PistachioLand.com. We look forward to seeing you again!

You can feel the atmosphere when you stop buzzing with energy. People posing with the giant pistachio, lines for icecream, pistachio tasting, wine tasting! All good fun. We spent an hour here. Its right off the hwy. Plenty of parking! We took a pic with the giant pistachio. We got some great icecream huge portions. Its not made on the location. Pistachio flavor, rainbow sherbet and mango is what we enjoyed. We also bought some fudge. The tour of the vineyard and pistachio farm is on top of the hour. Its $3 per ticket. It was a 10 min tour. We got to see the vineyards and the trees. Male pistachio tree. We also tasted the various different pistachio flavors...cocoa, garlic, lime, chile. It was very interesting. We loved the souvenirs and bought some bags of pistachio and brittle.

Great for the whole family. There is a HUGE pistachio out front that is great for taking pictures. The tours are a great deal and gave great information. You sign up for a time and you can eat ice cream, or sample pistachios and wine in the gift shop. I highly recommend! We had an excellent time.
