What to expect
  • British Residency, built on the banks of Musi river in the year 1803 by then Scottish  Bureaucrat of East India company: Colonel James Achilles Kirkpatrick was the British Resident or Ambassador at the Indian court of Hyderabad between 1797 and 1805 (converted to Islam and had became a double agent working against the East India Company and for the Hyderabadis, Spoke Persian, Hindustani, Tamil and Telugu  fluently). The Six - columned portico in the Corinthian style is now the women’s college in busy markets of Hyderabad. This magnificent British Residency was the result of the matured romance with Hyderabadi noblewoman called Khair un-Nissa , who was a refuge in his house from an enforced marriage. We could see the architects model behind the college in cemetery. Badshahi Ashurkhana is a mourning place for shias during the festival of Muharram is located near Charminar in Hyderabad, India. Constructed in memory of martyrdom of Imam Hussain. Built in 1594 by Mohammed Quli Qutub Shah, the founder of Hyderabad City. Badshahi Ashurkhana is remarkable for its height and abundance of Chinese tiles used. Adorned with enamel-tiled mosaics, the building houses some ancient banners and relics that are displayed only during Muharram Purana Pul built in 1578 AD is a bridge over river Musi in Hyderabad, first bridge in Hyderabad and among the oldest in South India, connect Golconda and   Hyderabad. Prince Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah was in love with Bhagmati, a Hindu woman who lived on the other side of river Musi. His father Sultan Ibrahim Quli Qutub Shah decided to build the bridge so that his son could cross over the river safely. 'Pyar- ana pul' (meaning  'On Love Bridge'  in English).22 arches, 600 ft long, 35 feet broad and 54 feet above the river bed.  Paigah Tombs – located at a distance of 10 kms from city hotels are the magnificent example of lessor known Indo Saracenic architecture and delightfully decorated with flowers, famous jali work and have marble inlay work on them with lime and mortar in the. These nobles were married to Nizam's daughters. Hidden inside the encroached houses is a must visit site.
