Me and my teenage children had wonderful time with afternoon tea at this once owned by the richest man. Requested the owner of Garuda Tourism, they being local agency since 35 years had accepted my special request before and after high tea to drive around city, which Mr Reddy 9849028399 owner did it organised for us. Thanks

I had an excellent time at the tour today. The pick up and drop off was such a breeze. The driver, Ravi was so professional. The food was great. It was a short and sweet trip with lots of time to explore the court yard and to relax in the shade of trees after the tour. This was meant for catching up with my old friends and it served the purpose very well. An absolute must-do if you’re in a time crunch but need to spend quality time with loved ones. Does not include much walking, can be done with people of all ages.

We were recommended to try the high tea by tourists we met in Hyderabad. As we had time we opted to book fora nights stay. WOW. It is a beautiful building commanding amazing views. Opulence and an insight into bygone age. Our room was fantastic. Beautiful high ceiling and in keeping decor. The en-suite in a class of its own. We had the high tea in the Celeste dinning room. Grand, but very comfortable. The tea was delicious and very filling. The tour of the palace followed. It was informative and interesting.. breakfast did not disappoint, eggs anyway you wanted, fresh bread and pastries made in the kitchens, fruits and berries galore. The staff were all In obtrusive but incredibly helpful. Nothing here was to much trouble. Your welfare was their aim. Best description I can think of is ‘king for a day’.

Ambience and view was beautiful BUT food was tasteless. Taste is subjective therefore, for us, the high tea was below our expectation. The high tea here was more of QUANTITY than quality and for the price we paid, it was disappointing. Scones were served cold. Sandwiches were so so. Cakes were so so; taste more of sugar than ingredients. I asked for coffee without sugar TWO TIMES and both times, my coffee was served sweet. I finally asked for masala tea without sugar, and they got it right. Maybe our expectation was high for for 11,800 rupees for high tea, I believe we have the right to have some expectations. Nevertheless, I must say, the palace looked amazing at sunset. Service was great as well.

**Highly Overhyped & Overpriced! Avoid Like the Plague—even if You Have Money to Spend!**
I am writing this review specifically for the Taj Falaknuma Palace Walking Tour organized by the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC).
TSTDC offers only the walking tour and not Hi Tea. The Hi Tea with walking tour is offered by Taj Falaknuma themselves which makes me think that guests taking their tour would be given a better treatment than those who have taken only the walking tour by the Telangana Tourism Dept.
Read on for my horrible experience -
We booked this tour for 6 adults and 2 children more than two weeks before the scheduled date—17th August. The cost per person was ₹2,700, totaling approximately ₹20,000 for eight tickets.
At the time of booking, we were informed that the palace tour would include visits to Chowmahalla Palace, Taj Falaknuma Palace, and the Light and Sound Show at Golconda Fort. The pick-up was scheduled from various spots in Hyderabad, and we selected the first spot, Paryatak Bhavan, with a scheduled departure at 12:00 PM. Despite our accommodation being nearly 45 minutes away, we arrived at the pick-up spot on time.
Upon arrival, we were made to wait for 45 minutes because the bus had not yet arrived. It finally showed up at 12:40 PM, after which we had to pick up other passengers from different locations. Once on board, the TSTDC guide informed us that we would not be visiting Golconda Fort for the Light and Sound Show, as the fort was closed due to the Chief Minister’s visit from 15th to 20th August.
When we called the TSTDC office, the lady on the phone claimed that she too was unaware of this closure until the time we boarded the bus. It’s hard to believe that a government-run tourism department could be unaware of such a significant closure. After much back-and-forth, she agreed to refund us the difference, which is still overdue by 10 days!
By the time we finished the pick-up rounds and navigated through traffic, we reached Chowmahalla Palace at 1:30 PM. The drive from Chowmahalla to Falaknuma is about 45 minutes, and entry into Falaknuma is fixed at 3:30 PM. This left us with just 45 minutes to rush through Chowmahalla Palace and get back to the bus by 2:15 PM.
At Falaknuma, we were made to disembark, have our bags screened, and then reboard the bus. Upon arrival at the palace, as soon as we reached the main building, the guard at the entry rudely asked us to stay outside and wait for our tour guide. It felt as if we were freeloaders.
The guide finally arrived around 4:00 PM and began the tour in a heavy and affected Western accent, even though all the participants were Indians! Photography inside the palace was not allowed, yet we noticed other guests clicking pictures. They were likely hotel residents, but it’s frustrating how this distinction is made.
The tour was rushed, taking us through exactly eight rooms: the lobby, study, children’s room, bathroom, queen’s room, game room, library, and dining room—all within one hour. There was no time to sit, explore the antiques, or ask questions. This was from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM, and in the heat of the day, not even a glass of water was offered. Even basic Udupi restaurants offer cold water to guests. None of these rooms had air conditioning, coolers, or even fans!
For a tour costing ₹2,700 per person, the lack of basic facilities was shocking. At 5:00 PM, in the last room—the library—we were shown out of the main building, being told that access beyond that point was reserved for hotel guests. The entire tour felt as though the Taj was doing us a favor by allowing us to visit.
I voiced my displeasure to the guide and on-site manager, suggesting that the least they could do was offer a welcome drink to alleviate the heat. The manager’s response was, “We offer drinks and a buggy ride from the entrance to guests who are staying with us.” Really? So those of us who paid ₹2,700 per person—which is not a small amount—are not entitled to anything? He then added, “I’ll see what I can do.” We stayed on the grounds until about 5:30 PM, but no one offered anything.
Apart from the eight rooms, there is just one main building where you can take pictures, but only from the outside and the grounds. So much for a 7-star property!
Indeed a forgettable and expensive experience! Not recommended at all!

Due to protests and enforcement of section 144 in the old city on the day of the tour, we asked to be taken on a different day. The tour operator refused despite the fact that we had paid for 4 people. The circumstances were beyond our control and we were willing to do a different day but the tour operator has been very unprofessional.

Deeply Regret for your misunderstanding. There were no such incidents, where you were prohibited to travel to the Palace. We had another group of people and they did went to the palace and experienced the tour. Kindly request you to read the cancellation policy of Tripadvisor / Victor, I am only the supplier of product. You booked the tour through one of the above, means, you should take up any such issue with them and not with the end supplier. Our vehicle reached your premises and then you cancelled, You should know the cancellation policy. Over the phone you told me due to some internal family issues, you wish to postpone, which I honoured, but you were not staying for long days. Please understand, I will receive monies from victor after 30 days, whereas I have to pay to the palace well in advance procure the space. Thanks for reading. Do let me know, how we can be assistance to you in the future. Thanks. RANGA Reddy owner

I was told by my friend that this is Once in a lifetime experience and not to be missed. So when we reached the entrance I was apprehensive about what was in store...
Once we were inside the main gate, we were greeted by the welcome team and driven in a Buggy to the place, and the drive enroute was enhanced by Peacocks dancing around the trail.
The Heritage walk is a guided tour in and around the Palace where we could experience the amazing paintings which have a mesmerizing effect, the Crystal Chandeliers, the Dining room with over 100 chairs, the Library, the Bath tub with multiple taps for Hot & cold water as well as perfumes, just to name a few.
Later on, when tour ended we experienced a true Nawabs hospitality in the HiTea served with delicious spreads of food, juices, tea and coffee.
A wonderful experience...
