- gooner_pilot0 contributionsHighly recommend.Great tour company. Had Liz as our guide and Alessandro as our driver. They are the best. She speaks both Spanish and English. Very knowledgeable and informative. She keeps you want to learn more and more about El Salvador. Her attentiveness is the best. Alessandro is one of the best drivers. He is a safe and sound driver. They represent a great company. The communication with the tour guides and the company is by far the better ones.Written October 3, 2024
- Sherpa444867329750 contributionsAmazing work by the best president in the world todayAmazing Experience in the Historic District of San Salvador** Visiting the historic district of San Salvador has been an incredible and enlightening experience. The vibrant energy and the warmth of the people are truly heartwarming. It's inspiring to see how life has blossomed in this area, especially knowing the challenges the community faced in the past. After the dark and difficult days following the civil war, it's uplifting to witness how the city has transformed into a space of peace and renewal. The colorful streets, rich culture, and resilience of the locals make this district a must-visit. It's a testament to the strength and hope of the people, and a reminder of the beauty that comes after hardship. I highly recommend spending time here if you want to truly connect with the heart of El Salvador.Written September 22, 2024
- ashleyv8010 contributionsRuta de Las Flores TourThis tour was amazing! We booked it the day before and we liked how private our experience was! We went to 4 different towns with our guide Gerson who was also accompanied by Sandra who drove us all around. He told us a lot of history from each spot, he was very knowledgeable and patient. We also unexpectedly went to reptile museum where you could hold a python! Gerson also helped find something I was craving! Which was a “charamusca” and oh man was I sooo happy after finally getting one in the last town! The coffee was seriously out of this world and the views throughout the tour were breathtaking. I highly recommend taking this tour at least once!Written August 29, 2024
- petedogg0 contributionsPerfect combo of city plus nature tourAfter having such a great experience with Melissa on the full day Ruta de las Flores tour, we decided to do another tour. I was hesitant to explore the city center area on my own with my two kids, so I thought it’d be helpful to be led through the area with a guide. We started the tour by visiting the church with the incredible stained glass. It also has a very unique modern expression of the stations of the cross. We visited another cathedral, the main square, and the new library. It was a great overview of the important places in the city center. Ricardo also gave us a lot of context with the history of the space. We then drove out to El Boquerón National Park. It’s an easy walk up steps to the lookout points. We wrapped up the tour with a stop at a great pupusa place with an incredible view of the city. We tried a few other dishes besides the pupusas that Ricardo helped explain. This tour was a perfect combo of the city and nature that doesn’t require the whole day. Highly recommend. Thank you Ricardo for a lovely day!Written August 20, 2024
- petedogg0 contributionsPerfect tour for culture and coffee loversWe were looking for a tour which allowed us to see parts of El Salvador outside the big city but since we were not interested in the beach or hiking a volcano, this was the perfect tour for us. Melissa and her driver picked us up right on time at our hotel and we drove 2 hours in a comfortable air condo minivan out west of San Salvador. The tour took us to some small towns where we saw some of the local culture. It was helpful to have a guide take us through the local markets because it would’ve been overwhelming on our own. The highlight of the trip was having lunch at a restaurant. I thought it would just be lunch and a coffee tasting but there is a coffee farm on site! We were led through the back of the restaurant to a set of tree lined steps leading up a hill to the coffee farm. Melissa gave us an overview of different types of coffee, the varieties most common in El Salvador, etc. Our tour guide Melissa was very knowledgeable and always asking if we needed a restroom break. Thank you for a lovely tour of the Ruta de las Flores!Written August 20, 2024
- samuelbQ7997NA0 contributionsGood tour for those new to the countryWe did the walking tour with Melissa. Her English and enthusiasm are both excellent! She was flexible with our family (me and two teenagers). It was nice to learn about the history of San Salvador. It was very hot and unfortunately we weren’t able to visit the library but would definitely recommend. The food was delicious!Written August 20, 2024

- michelemD2624EN0 contributionsAn awful experienceWe are very sorry to have to give a bad review of this company, which seems to have been loved by many tourists. My wife and I took a tour on March 19th, 2024, at 9 AM, with a tour guide named Jahira or something similar. She was not prepared for the job, both content-wise and on formalities. Content-wise, she could not speak about the Civil War period in detail, nor could she talk about the current government. She did not respond to our questions on those years and Monseñor Romero's activities. About formalities: she always stopped under the sun and not under the shade, where it was possible to explain. And the weather in San Salvador is sweltering. Explanations were very long, with a low voice, in a boisterous city. We could not follow her explanations at all. In the middle of the tour, we stopped at a coffee shop because someone from the group wanted a coffee, and we ended up on a more 4-hour tour when it was supposed to be a 2.30-hour-long tour. We walked a lot without explaining the surroundings, but only at the stops, where she only made us enter without explaining. After four hours, we decided to leave the group when she kept talking only to a couple of people, who were walking at the top with her, without waiting for the others to join. I hope they will fire her because this is not her career path (AS SHE EVEN MENTIONED TO US DURING THE TOUR).Written August 3, 2024

- 507michalls0 contributionsBook EC Tours El Salvador - 4 day PackageIn short: book with EC tours if you want a personal guided experience! This was definitely the best decision we made to travel through El Salvador. Long version: My friend found the rainbow slide tour on their website and noticed they have a 4-day excursion package. My friend and I were traveling together so we wanted to book with an agency for comfort. EC tours sent us a PDF with the itinerary and we requested special additions to go to El Tunco beach and we swapped activities to accommodate our flight. Vanessa sent us the new itinerary the very next day and we booked with them ASAP. There was no back and forth, no questions, hotel was included - super easy! Our driver (Cesar) and tour guide (Joshy) were waiting for us at the airport. Joshy greeted us with big smiles and hugs. Cesar was also very welcoming. We were pleased that Cesar and Joshy stayed with us for all 4 days. They told us what time to be ready and they took care of everything. This was my first time using an agency and I felt totally relaxed because everything was so well organized. Joshy and Cesar even went out of their way to help us find certain foods we wanted to try. They truly made our experience so personal and easy. At the end of the 4 days, we were friends and we hope to visit El Salvador again. Joshy and Cesar, thank you for your excellent service, enthusiasm, and kindness!Written July 24, 2024
- msa23_20000 contributionsGreat serviceI decided to go to El Salvador on a whim at the last minute. I sent a WhatsApp to EC Tours described what I like and how much time I had (basically 24 hours) and they planned and arranged everything. Joshy was my guide and she was excellent. We saw the city and El Tunco. They were organized, friendly, and well organized. I highly recommend.Written July 21, 2024

- 181tyram0 contributionsA Breathtaking, Incredible 4-Day Experience from Start to Finish with Joshy and William (Multiple Excursions)!!!This was the ABSOLUTE BEST experience ever!!! We were in El Salvador for about 4 days. Therefore, we engaged in nearly EVERY tour offered by this company. Our wonderful guide was Joshy accompanied by our lovely and safe driver, William. They were an incredible team!!! From the moment we stepped out the airport, to the moment we stepped back inside was an incredible experience! My partner and I can't even narrow down our favorite experience because each component was remarkable! However, visiting Lake Coatepeque for lunch and jet skiing provided the most remarkable nature view! Visiting the Hot Springs for massages and relaxation was an impeccable experience. Truthfully, the entire tour could leave you full of tears of happiness. Joshy and William introduced themselves as strangers but we all left feeling like best friend/family! The amount of history that Joshy was able to provide throughout was unbelievable! I have a deeper love and respect for the residents of El Salvador! Joshy and William were so attentive to our questions and comments! They were so considerate of our experience and helped take pictures so we could embrace the entire moment. My birthday was that Friday. Joshy and William surprised me with balloons, flowers, and a sweet treat at the most phenomenal indoor/outdoor restaurant with a garden and coffee farm that I can't quite recall (sorry, there were soooo many activities we indulged in). I was in tears from this thoughtful experience! We ALWAYS felt safe and in wonderful, caring hands with both Joshy and William! We could not have requested a better team! They went above and beyond every single step of the way!!! It takes special people to create a thriving and loving experience! We felt as if we belonged in this magnificent country thanks to Joshy, William, and the abundance of kind people we met along the way. Joshy and William, thank you for a breathtaking experience! From the volcanoes, to the lake, to the springs--ALL OF IT, THANK YOU!! We thoroughly appreciated you all's recommendations as well! ❤️ I wouldn't trade this experience for the world! In fact, we're probably going to return within the next 2 years. I'm recommending everyone to book with this company!!!Written July 1, 2024

- Omnigear820 contributionsWonderful Day TourSolo trip with guide Lisbeth and driver Alessandro. An epic experience through four days with the. This went through a small colonial like town. Opted to do a boat trip to an island spot where got off and walked to a cave. Overall, this trip has been wonderful thanks to my two steady companions in tow. If coming to visit El Salvador use EC tours. Go with Lisbeth. Will treat you like family.Written June 24, 2024

We had an amazing time with Miguel and Estefany. We got picked up on time and driven in a well air conditioned car around the places we would’ve unlikely found ourselves. They both were very welcoming. Estefany was the main guide, her English was perfect, she was very knowledgeable about the history, the culture, and the places we visited. We got to experience local coffee shop, had pupusas with the amazing views, walked around the center of the city, as well as local streets, and visited one of the big parks. We learned so much of the history and culture during our 7 hour layover that it made us want to return back again to San Salvador for more days.
Thank you so much for making our layover such an unforgettable experience. You went above and beyond for us.

Great tour! I had a 10-hour layover and wanted to see the sights of San Salvador and the archaeological site of Mayan ruins. The tour was well-planned by EC, and Melissa was very informative and knowledgeable. They were very communicative, and the whole day went perfectly. Thank you to the EC team!

We had a great time during our layover in San Salvador. It was easy to find their kiosk in airport. Our names were very visible. We were quickly escorted through the immigration control. Our tour guide, Eduardo Díaz, met us on the other side and walked us to the car. Regular 4 door sedan was comfortable for 2 of us and our guide. During about 20 minutes drive to downtown, Eduardo told us about history and current political situation in the country. His English was very good. He is a university student who is knowledgeable passionate about what he does. We spent some time walking around downtown, visited some really interesting churches. Stopped in a wonderful coffee shop. No need to worry about changing money. US dollars is official curency. After that we went to very nice Volcanic Park. Nice easy hike, beautiful views. On the way back to airport Eduardo stopped by an amazing pupusa restaurant. Absolutely delicious! Eduardo would not allow us to pay for our meals. It was his treat. Off to airport. Easy through immigration and on the side plane with no problem.
We only had 7 hours layover, because Avianca rescheduled our flight to Medellin. I wish we had more time. There are more things to see. We could not be happier with Eduardo Díaz and his driver. Highly recommend their services if you happened to be in San Salvador.
