About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Dr_Michael_Kipping0 contributionsSunrise at Mount Sinai - an awesome experienceGreat experience seeing the sun rise at the summit. If you're planning to do this, keep in mind it is a mountain, and although the trail is straightforward, you'll have to ascend 2000ft at night sp careful consideration of footwear and clothing. Whilst you're walking, you'll be warm but as soon as you stop for a while (especially at the top) it will be cold so take warm clothing. You can hire blankets for 150 Egyptian pounds at the top. Our tour guides were friendly, helpful and experienced. Highly recommended!Written January 15, 2025
- CampbellR1790 contributionsTough going but worth it in the endIts hard work but the sunrise is worth it. We left hotel at 9pm and got back at 2pm the following day. Limited sleep, long coach journey and a 3-4 hour trek up the mountain in the pitch black / torchlight is not for the faint hearted. Its also very cold so dress up warm and consider paying the E£150 for a much needed blanket at the top. The wind is biting However the views of the sunrise and the walk back down in the daylight are spectacular. Monastery tour is a bit something of nothing. I'm not religious so maybe its just a bit lost on me and I was very tired by this point. Interesting enough to see but the highlight is the sunrise. Blink and you miss it as its over pretty quick so get up there in time and get a good spot for photos and travel prepared, drinks, snacks, warm clothes, good shoes.Written January 7, 2025

- Suzan E0 contributionsDive + snorkel with crazy shark!Crazy shark is an outstanding charter company. We were originally going to snorkel but when they found out my brother and I were dive certified, they went out of their way to prepare dive gear and take us on the most breathtaking dive of my life. I felt safe underwater with the dive instructor despite being a bit rusty in scuba diving. The spots were gorgeous and the crew had no trouble anchoring smoothly. The meal cooked aboard was delicious and fresh and the crew was professional, kind, and easy going. I would definitely recommend them again.Written December 29, 2024
- Tamam E0 contributionsGreat charter experience in SharmI brought my family aboard a crazy shark tour and had an amazing time. We went to three separate spots where we could dive and snorkel, were served an incredible authentic meal that was freshly cooked aboard, and had an easy passage. The crew is professional, friendly, and warm. They were very flexible with the itinerary as well. I would use their services again and recommend them to anyone.Written December 29, 2024

- Catherine K0 contributionsEpic.A magical, unforgettable, extreme physical challenge of an experience. Please don't arrive on this Tour expecting European/British/N American niceties. The Bedouin will be quick to tell you that Sinai is Asia, the customs and the life are different here to Egypt and the region in general. A profoundly moving experience to climb relentlessly through the night lit only by small plastic torches provided on the bus before alighting, and to witness the breathtaking stars overhead. We felt the stars were lighting our path at one point, so vivid they are. Stay close if you can catch up with them to the leading guide who will just pour forth the history of the region, the features to look out for in the rock face, the background to their own Bedouin mountain lives and the pitfalls (don't succumb to the camel taxis). We climbed relentlessly with few stop points enroute. I took the guides ' lead by not sitting down at the rest intervals- the body siezes up quickly at night in the biting cold. You need snacks that are easy to ingest enroute and are highly calorific. Try the packets of chocolate covered dates from the supermarket before you get the bus, or snickers bars - take several. Be mindful of your liquids intake. The available loos are primitive (!). Be respectful of a holy place sacred to all 3 major religions as you reach the summit. You'll await the sunrise in pure exhausted elation. Accept the camel hair Blankets and the chai tea at the final breakpoint before you climb the 756 steps to the summit. They cost LE 250 approx and you'll need them. It is COLD. Wear gloves and a woolly hat, your winter coat and layers. Wear sturdy running trainers or boots. Climb with 3 x points of contact on the rock surface as you mount the final steps. The mind does strange things at altitude in the biting cold at 5 am. Be careful. And please if.you are not physically fit and able to do a 20 km round trip including a sustained 60 deg angle climb at pace, sit this one out. The guides on the mountain and our Sun Tours bus guide were immense. Please tip heavily. Avoid the hawkers selling tat. Be prepared For a bit of chaos at entry to the trail. Leave your preconceptions behind. Bring cash. Appreciate the immense natural beauty you're witnessing and live in the moment.Written November 29, 2024
- Louise F0 contributionsMagical sunrise and scenery but the bus journey was awful and we were scared for our safety. We completed this tour on November 10th and whilst the climb up the mountain in the dark and sunrise at dawn were spectacular we were just happy to arrive home in one piece. From the point of pick up the tour guide had an abrasive and almost rude attitude, barking out requests and instructions abruptly. We were not made aware prior that pick up that travel there would take over 5 hours as we needed to travel in convoy under police escort, however that was a minor issue in comparison to the mini bus experience. On boarding the bus we were directed to the last two seats cramped in the corner of the rear seat. I attempted to find my seatbelt only to find that on the back seat the seat covers that had been fitted covered the receiver buckles meaning there was no way of fastening the lap belt, we would simply be travelling beltless! We also had to stop twice shortly after setting off in convoy, firstly due to a faulty window at the front of the bus and then for a window panel directly next to where we were sat which was completely loose and through which you could pass your whole hand. The noise generated was horrendous as was the draught to the point where we had little choice but to notify the tour guide who instructed the driver to stop at the services. After the driver spent 20 minutes attempting to fix it the guide said it was broken and could we just put a hoodie on to cover our ears…what fabulous customer service! After we suggested it could be taped up the guide returned shortly after with a wide roll of tape which the driver aggressively and haphazardly attempted to seal the gap. Also we had to finish the job off before he ran away with the tape. After a further 10 minutes we were back on the road in what can only be described as rally mode. The driver was driving in the dark at what felt like break neck speed overtaking everything in sight to catch up with the convoy, we later found out from the couple seated up front with the driver he was doing 140kmh at times and had only side lights and full beam. The bus bounced, crashed and wallowed with apparently little by way of suspension, I did wonder whether we would actually get to walk the mountain! The return journey to Sharm was less eventful with the window fixed but was still driven far too fast for the bus and road conditions. In short I would definitely recommend visiting Mount Saini but would avoid this tour provider at all costs. There is total disregard for the health, safety and comfort of their customers, they may be cheap but most certainly not the experience I ever want to repeat.Written November 14, 2024

- Carolyn L0 contributionsMt Sinai climbSnall pick up bus was very squashed. Guides manner was abrupt. On the mountain the guides did not stay with group. We ended up doing it on our own. The experience itself was fantastic. Recommend camel ride up. 600EP each. Strenuous for us...fit couple in our 60s.Written October 12, 2024
- Seaside5289280 contributionsWell worth the money but there are extras to pay £This trip was fantastic for the money. Just bear in mind there are extras that are optional ££ You pay 600 Egyptian £ or €10 to enter the canyon. This needs to be paid when you arrive on the bus. The snorkeling was the highlight. We went out for ages. Felt like 40 mins to 1 hour but can't guarantee full duration as I wasn't tracking it. Coral was beautiful ❤️ The drive up to dahab was beautiful as well. Camel ride short and sweet (kids like tips/sweets), snorkeling gear is mandatory if you want to get in the water as you have to have a life vest on. €10/$10 per person. the lunch is included but the lunch spot charge $1 for shower and $1 for toilets. The pitt stop on the way has free toilets and dahab shopping has free toilets. Bring water and a scarf with you although there are opportunities to buy it on the way. Guides and photographer are fab and make the trip. Jeep was loads of fun but short.Written October 12, 2024
- Journey508377213670 contributionsBreathtaking views, great hikeGreat value for the trip, efficient pickup. The tour guide and bedouin guide are very qualified and fun. The view at the top of Mount Sinai is unique, beautiful and breathtaking. The hike can be a bit challenging towards the end but it is totally worth it when you get to the top. Beware that the minibus will bring you back at 1pm the next day and not early morning as indicated in some places.Written October 5, 2024

This was a fabulous day, easily the highlight of the week in Sharm. Thoroughly recommended.
At the start of the day, we were really sceptical: the pickup went to the wrong hotel (there being three with similar names nearby) and when we did get to the dock, everything seemed pretty disorganised when it came to renting kit etc. The moment you get on the boat, everything is brilliant and you no longer care about the early glitches.
The boat is very comfortable and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food was better than the food at the resort we were staying in and there was also plenty to drink whenever you wanted.
The trip had three stops. The first two were for diving or snorkelling and the third is the white island, which is basically a white sand bar that you can swim to (very short swim of about 20m, followed by walking in shallow water).
The reefs at stops 1 and 2 were spectacular. Crystal clear warm water, with masses of fish everywhere. Quite breathtaking.
We had just been expecting to go snorkelling but they told us that even complete beginners can go scuba diving. The instructor literally holds onto you and all you have to do is breathe. Do it. It's great.
The scuba cost E20 for 10 minutes of E35 for 25 minutes. There is a photographer underwater who takes a number of pictures and a short video of each diver. It cost something like E20-30 to buy the digital copies of everything he takes of an individual. The one criticism I have is that he wants you to be posing in every photo. He gestures for you to make the OK sign, a heart sign, a gangster crossed arms, flex your biceps etc etc and he only takes the photo when you are doing it. To get a picture of me just enjoying the dive, I had to take a screenshot of the video.
On top of that, there is a photographer on the boat, taking pictures throughout the day. His photos cost E100 for the lot. Again, he is very keen for you to be pulling silly poses, but he did also take some nice unposed images.
So my advice: don't worry about the apparent chaos at the start; do the diving as well as the snorkelling; take some spare cash (although there is an ATM at the dock if needed).
Most of all, my advice is definitely to go on this trip!

The cruise was as advertised you get what you pay for. It was very good to see Taher he is amazing worker , very helpful and sorted anything that was needed. Drinks offered on board and diving also easy for anyone to do. The diving photographer , was very good too he did many poses and made sure I got good photos during the time even the on board photography opportunities is good , they know what they are doing very well you can tell and it is obvious they try to get the best out of you. It is a very good process and it allows for a smooth transaction , it works out very well because they know how to get the right angles and all of the above. It was made to be a very step by step process which allowed for a very nice experience which can be hard in Egypt sometimes when people do very high prices they were not like this they were direct with the process and it made for very nice time. I know that they are very effective with what they do. That’s why all the people on board were happy with the service of the photographers. Mahmoud the under water photographer was a special person because he made my photos come out as good as they could through the extensive effort he put in to get different styles of pictures through the walkthrough he did for me I would definitely recommend the photos for both photographers. Overall the experience was good and allows for some good memories of a time away.

We've just returned from a great day out on the sea courtesy of Sun Tours Egypt. The owner of the company Mohamed sends a personal confirmation of your booking and of the hotel pickup times the day before departure.
The crew on the Masa Tours boat were all exceptionally friendly and helpful, particular thanks to Taher and Dragon. After about 1.5 hours on board, the first stop was for snorkelling around a beautiful reef. We also went scuba diving which is bookable at the time of purchasing the tour or can be purchased on board if you wish. You swim with a very experience diver who explains everything meticulously beforehand and you always feel very safe. Its a wonderful experience and a great way to try scuba diving if you've never done it before.
After another short boat ride there's a second stop for snorkelling before lunch is served. The food was surprisingly good with a variety of dishes on offer.
The final stop is at White Island which is actually a sand belt but fun to stand on in the middle of the Red Sea.
I would thoroughly recommend booking this tour through Mohamed at Sun Tours Eqypt, he has a genuine interest in making sure everyone has an enjoyable day.

From €27 +€5 we ended up spending €66 per person. They invent a thousand excuses to raise the price at the last minute. Lunch was very poor and the fruit in the afternoon were simple orange slices. I highly recommend paying in cash in euros because if you pay by card they raise the price with the excuse of conversion and local bank tax.
Beautiful backdrops and perfect waters, however the rest had too much influence on the evaluation

Views are lovely, I can imagine this being a more pleasant trip during summer months as it was chilly at times. Nader was great- he was the scuba diving instructor, had a smile on his face throughout the whole trip. I had no intention to scuba dive but he convinced me & I’m gradual he did.
Please remember that you will need Euros for this excursion. Entry to the national park is €5. We did not have any euros and could get them from the banks due to them being closed on Fridays and Saturdays. We were charged 275 Egyptian pounds each (there were 3 of us). The really frustrating part was that we were given 3 different entry fee amounts, the first person we interacted with wanted 750 Egyptian pounds. His friend then wanted to speak to us on the phone (I was told this person was who we booked the excursion with) -he wanted us to pay 900 Egyptian pounds. And then finally ANOTHER man from the group said the price was 825 Egyptian pounds for the 3 of us. The 3 individuals I interacted with were rude & shouted during the conversions I had with them which unfortunately set the tone for the trip.

Mohamed is honest about the trip details, and upfront about the costs & expectations. The price is fair not the cheapest, but worth the service. He met us at the dock to ensure we were raking care of until we got in the boat. Taher was our snorkeling guide, he was very polite & had a fun attitude. We also paid extra for a diving session with Nader & Araby, they were both very professional, fun, and went above & beyond for safety & pleasure underwater, I’d definitely recommend them both for diving trips. The trip itself had a good vibe & the snorkeling sites were extraordinary & majestic.

Terrible! First off all we thought that it’s was a great trip. But than we needed to pay, they said it was 15€ extra per person to dive a longer tour. We thought okay let’s do it, but then came the payment we wanted to pay by card and we had said so in advanced. Now we needed to pay 1650 Egyptian point that’s 50€ or 25€ per person that’s 10€ more. When we explained it they said something about rate etc but they should have told me in advance + when we wanted to pay by card they send us to an ATM that also takes a percentages so we payed way more than intended.
Plus for the diving photos we wanted a photo, and okay if they charge but charge everyone the same. Turned out afterwards that we payed way more than someone else. The photo were at first something nice to remember an amazing experience. Now they make us feel bad, because we got ripped off.
Plus when you right a review they are beside you. So you get influenced by them
So advice to the company: do fixed prices for everyone!!!! And explaine the exange rate etc in advance

Picked up from hotel and driven to port, didn't take too long upon arriving at port we were instructed to get life jackets if we wanted them (including in price) as they do not keep them on the boats. We then waiting until our boat name was called and then boarded the luxurious boat, I was suprised at how beautiful it was, immaculately clean and you had to take shoes off, there was ample seating on the second deck for everyone with space to move around freely, there was also a top deck for sunbathing if you wish. The food was delicious and the soft refreshments available the whole day.
We set of to the first snorkelling spot whilst the guides explained the day, they then explained about diving if you wished to take a one on one dive, my husband decided to do this (first time) for the cost of £20. He absolutely loved it and the guide was excellent with explaining everything. I happily snorkelled the fish are beautiful. I was suprised about the amount of boats but it did not spoil the experience. We snorkelled in 2 different spots and then visited the White Island, we had to swim a little way before you could walk on the island but the staff were great and kept us all in a line and provided rings for the nervous swimmers. It was worth getting of the boat to visit. Had an excellent day out and would definately recommend this particular trip to anyone!

Such a fun and surprisingly relaxing experience! The crew both on the boat and on the water were incredible, our snorkeling guide Taher making sure we got to see all around the coral shelves we stopped at. And don't worry about food, the lunch was delicious, and the perfect break for the long, fulfilling day.
If you're on the fence about this trip, don't be, go! It's beautiful.

Went on a snorkelling trip with my partner. Once onboard they also said they do beginner diving which I considered doing. I am very nervous being around the sea and the staff made me feel very comfortable. Once in the water, the instructor stayed with me the whole time and constantly ensured that I was doing okay. It took me a few minutes to get comfortable but I'm glad I went in and viewed the fish. After the first stop I got out and spoke to Mohammed who was lovely. He told me I was brave for going into the water and I did well for my first time. He gave me a lot of scuba diving tips and explained the process as well as how to breath under the water. It made me feel confident enough to consider going diving at the second stop. At the second stop I decided not to do it as my ears were extremely sore from the water but glad I got to learn about it and will definitely give it a try next time! We also had lunch which had plenty vegetarian options and tasted very good. All the staff were very friendly and helped you if you needed it or had any questions. The only downside of the trip is I brought £10 in change for the entry fees and when I arrived they told me I couldn't use coins and wanted a note. I didn't have any notes on me and I had to pay with card , which ended up charging me £17 which is a 70% increase. Just a note for anyone in future to make sure you bring notes with you. Me and my partner had our photos taken on the boat and in the water, they do charge for this and have different packages. I haven't seen these yet so not sure on the quality of these. I can always update my review once I've seen them. Overall it was a good experience with knowledgeable staff who make you feel welcomed and good food.

No, there are no lockers but we didn't have any problem to leave the bags on the boat. Everything was inside the bag and the bag closed and everyone is leaving them with no problems .

Hi we are trying to compare prices , can we do diving too ? or how additional that would be ? and use of snorkeling equipment ?

I went snorkeling......the boat is mixed snorkeling/divers, and you can upgrade, but I don't know how much. The fins are for the divers, but I just put a pair on anyway...no problem. The reef is teeming with life, so a good choice!
