- 659clairr0 contributionsThe BEST trip you will do in SharmThe best trip ever. So worth it. It's a long 16 hrs but so so worth going. The guide was amazing. You feel so proud of achieving getting to the top. Pick up was on time. We had a few stops on the way and got to the base at about 01.45 a steady walk up, stopping at little cafes run by locals on the way up. The option for a camel can be taken at any time. It gets so cold so wrap up but you can rent a blanket for the top. The view was amazing. I'm not religious so my trip was just for the sunrise. I highly recommend doing this. This trip has made an otherwise terrible holiday a great memory. On the way down you do encounter local kids begging, or just demanding you give them food or your clothing. So I would say take warm clothes you are happy to give away because it gets hot walking down and you get less to carry. Absolutely bloody brilliant. You will never see a sunrise like it.Written January 21, 2025
- K5815VAjoelo0 contributionsAmazing Petra!Long day but absolutely worth it! The tour operator was well organized. Everything was as described. Tour groups are large (full bus 40+ people). But guided visit groups are smaller as they separate by language. Petra is amazing. Bring some snacks and water, because the trip is long. They make sufficient stops for bathroom breaks and you can buy snacks. Definitely recommend it but it is somewhat exhausting.Written January 9, 2025
- LoveTravel7517920 contributionsWonderful experienceAmazing trip to do. Try and get a small group and not a full boat. We saw dolphins it was amazing! Very scenic and lots of fishWritten January 4, 2025
- ian h0 contributionsAn epic adventureThe level of difficulty is under played in this 16 hour adventure of an excursion. It is excellent yet the hike up the mountain is not for the faint hearted or unfit. The sunrise is spectacular, the hike guide good and sensible. The drive to and from the hike is about 3 hours with stops. Our driver drove at 140kmph and frequently took and made calls, as well as texted whilst driving. Facilities are limited, for those that may need, take a roll of paper.Written December 21, 2024
- magpiedragon0 contributionsPoorMy husband and I were very disappointed with this trip, it wasn't what we expected at all! The Quad bike ride was awful, brakes didn't work and bike pulling to one side. We didn't do the Blue Hole, but snorkelled off the rocky beach - as I am not a great swimmer myself and another lady went with the guide - he pulled us along on a ring float, and he was constantly touching the coral, at one point we ended up floating into the coral, and the other lady grazed her legs. We didn't see anything of Dahab, only a shop selling oils etc. I did enjoy the walk through the coloured canyon, but there was a lot of rubbish around. The good thing about the trip was the staff who took us - the driver, the guide and photographer - the photographer imparticular was quite a comedian, and didn't overcharge for the photographs (unlike another excursion we were on). Not a trip we will repeat.Written October 1, 2024
- 437suziem0 contributionsMount Sinai and st Catherine’s monasterySt Catherine’s monastery was amazing. Both the setting and the historical importance. Seeing the ancient manuscripts was a huge highlight. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, good driving and everything was on time and well communicated. Our kids were 11 and 9 so in between the young kids and teens section. They were the youngest there by far but they managed fine (mum and dad more struggled) staying up all night and heat on way back down the mountain are all things you need to take into account to weigh up if this is for you, but it’s worth it. The only thing that could really be improved on is our Bedouin guide (who is separate from sun tours I believe) rushed us really fast at the start of the walk for no reason as we had plenty of time and kept overtaking the other groups. This stopped us being able to enjoy the walk at an easy pace and also made us feel that he was trying to get us to take the camels / buy drinks as getting hot and then get sweaty and then cold from the sweat to hire the rugs at the top. Once the camel rides were over (which is the east part of the walk anyway) he slowed right down and could tell he was as exhausted as us! We were at the top well before sunrise just a shame we could not enjoy the walk more.Written June 6, 2024

- 335margitak0 contributionsSunrise at Mt.Sinai and St.Catherine private tourWhat an incredible experience! We were group of 4 and opted for private tour with Cleotours. All communication about tour was prompt, clear and correct. The trip was well organised from start to finish. Mohamed our well informed guide was in control of all the logistics and made sure everything run smoothly. Then another young Mohammed ,our guide ,took us up the mountain was likewise firmly in control of the group for the climb and made sure we are safely. We were a little nervous about the hike as one of member has some health problem, therefore we opted for camel ride which was amazing experience. We enjoyed millions stars on the sky.How memorable experience!Last 700 steps was challenge but sunrise was worth it. Next to St.Catharine, our guide Mohamed waiting for us, provided very interesting tour of the monastery, well explained.. Thank so much everyone for make this amazing experience for us. - W778ZNemmac0 contributionsGreat day out but freezing cold pools and slides.Good waterpark but I wouldn’t recommend going in Febuary as the slides and most of the pools were freezing! Not many heated parts to the park. The Aqua Blu slides were fun which you can also use as well as the waterpark.Written February 22, 2024
- nath9720190 contributionsOnce in a lifetime experienceA really enjoyable trip to visit Petra which is a once in a lifetime experience. Our guide Karim was excellent and very knowledgeable. Was always on hand and went out of his way to put a smile on your face. The only downside was the slight lack of information during the travel through Egypt with regards to what was happening (which bus to get on, why at certain points we had to wait etc) However we would still highly recommend this experience if you can manage the long travel timesWritten February 18, 2024
