We have Tawfiek Hassan as our tour guide. He guided us for all tours in Luxor and Aswan. Tawfiek was very knowledgeable and attentive. We understood his guide with all the temples and tombs. He also offered alternatives and itinerary swaps to accommodate us which provided flexibility which was really good. He also provided consideration such as starting tours earlier than scheduled due to the heat which was also very accommodating. Overall the experience was positive. All private vehicles were comfortable and organised. We strongly recommend him if anyone is keen to explore Luxor and Aswan.

We could not speak more highly of Egypt Joy! Hatem and his team of guides are absolutely amazing. I started working on our trip with Hatem a few months before, and he was really helpful with creating exactly the experience we wanted. Also, he gave great advice about what we should and shouldn’t do if he thought the price was too high. I really appreciated this. In Cairo we had our guide Youssef. Very kind and passionate about Egyptian history. We had a lot of fun with him and our drivers, Mahmoud and Saeed. Then we went to Luxor to board our Nile Cruise. Our guide here was Waleed. Also, very kind and knowledgeable about even the smallest details of our visits. These people all went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of at all times. I want to point out that we NEVER felt unsafe in Egypt. It was definitely a bucket list destination. Being able to see and experience the sights was incredible. We will most certainly be back again, and utilize Egypt Joy’s services and incredible team!

I found Egypt Joy Travel through one of the forums while planning my first trip to Egypt. Everyone I spoke to recommended traveling with a company, so I contacted about seven different operators. Egypt Joy stood out for their quick responsiveness and competitive pricing. Mohammed, the owner, was invaluable and patient, answering my endless questions on WhatsApp at all hours. When it came to hotels, I booked some directly with points and others through Mohammed. If you’re booking with cash, definitely book through him—he secured significantly discounted rates compared to what I saw online. My trip lasted five days: three nights in Cairo and one night in Luxor. Originally, I planned to travel with my mom, but her flight was canceled, and she couldn’t make it. Mohammed handled the last-minute change with ease, rearranging everything for a solo trip without any hassle. From the moment I arrived, I felt well taken care of. An agent met me before immigration to assist with paperwork, which made arrival smooth and stress-free. I wish I’d had similar help for my domestic flight to Cairo on AirCairo, as the terminal was chaotic and disorganized (not Egypt Joy’s fault). However, they made up for it by ensuring I had an airport escort for my international departure, which was much appreciated. I had two guides—one in Cairo and another in Luxor—and both were incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Egyptology. They tailored the pace of the tours to me, which I appreciated since I tend to move quickly through museums. In Cairo, my guide, Khaled, was a standout. He helped me negotiate a camel ride to get the iconic picture in front of the pyramids (this is only possible with a camel ride, by the way!). He also made sure I got fair prices at shops and outright told vendors that he didn’t want a commission, which I found very refreshing. For souvenirs, I discovered that the museum gift shops with fixed prices had the best deals, and I didn’t end up buying anything at the Grand Bazaar. In Cairo, we covered the Pyramids, the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Civilization Museum, and the Bazaar. The only stop I didn’t love was the Papyrus Institute—it felt more like a shop, and the staff was overly persistent in trying to sell me something I didn’t want. In Luxor, my guide ensured I made the most of my 24 hours there. Highlights included an incredible sunrise hot air balloon ride, visits to the Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple, and a trip to Banana Island. I did buy a few alabaster pieces in Luxor, only to realize later that I’d overpaid when I saw similar items at the museum gift shops in Cairo. If I could offer one piece of advice: avoid buying anything in Egypt without a listed price. Egypt can be overwhelming and chaotic for a first-time visitor, but Egypt Joy Travel made everything feel seamless. Their attention to detail and care made me feel safe and well-attended throughout the trip.

For my daughter’s birthday on January 7th, we booked this tour and we had a BLAST! We had a private driver named Ahmed pick us up from Hurghada where we were staying and he took us 6 hours away to Cairo. Our tour guide, Mohamed, met us there and he was AWESOME! We went to the museum and he was so thorough and informative about everything, it was FABULOUS! We then went sailing on the Nile followed by dining and enjoying a fabulous lunch in Giza. They even surprised my daughter with a birthday cake and everyone sang “Happy Birthday!” We were SO surprised and happy! We then went to see the pyramids and rode camels, SO MUCH FUN! We also saw how papyrus is made and visited a natural oils shop. It was a FULL day of fun and history! Our driver, Ahmed, made sure to get us back to Hurghada safely and quickly for our dinner reservations and more birthday celebrations for my daughter and I truly appreciated that! Mohamed and Ahmed truly made our tour in Cairo and Giza a most memorable one and we plan to come back again soon to do Luxor.

If you're booking through Egypt Joy, ask for Walid as your tour guide. He's highly knowledgeable, very professional, friendly and articulates in a manner even non-native English speakers easily understand. He doesn't rush his tourists, gives them ample time to explore the sites and patiently explains to them the significance of the place with a lot of context. If he has to start a story from the beginning of time, he would. I did a trip to Aswan, Nubian Village, Abu Simbel and Luxor with Walid. I would highly recommend Walid to everyone considering booking a trip through Egypt Joy, to be your tour guide.

We had a great experience with Egypt Joy! Myself and a few friends had 5 days in Egypt and I wanted to see Luxor and Cairo, so Hatem and Egypt Joy worked with me for weeks to set up the perfect itinerary. They were very professional, from creating the trip to actually guiding us while we were there. The drivers in both Luxor and Cairo were phenomenal and our private guides in Luxor and Cairo were incredibly knowledgable and very easy to understand. We also had a person joining us halfway through the trip and Egypt Joy made it incredibly easy to adjust prices and transportation for that person. Once we arrived, everything went off without a hitch. I recommended Egypt Joy to my sister and she had an equally incredible experience working with them and she loved her trip as well. Prices are a little higher than what you would expect for Egypt, but the service we received made it worthwhile. I full-time solo traveled for 3 years and rarely use a guide service. However, I wanted to visit Egypt properly and not worry about getting scammed like I had in other Northern African countries. I will be recommending Egypt Joy to anyone who wants to go, and I'll use them again in the future to see more of Egypt.

My husband and I just returned from 5 full days in Egypt with Egypt Joy Travel. We did a private tour where we started in Cairo then headed to Aswan then Luxor then returned to Cairo for our return flight home. Egypt Joy made everything a breeze for us! We were greeted at the airport with a sign, assisted with the travel visa process, and brought to all our hotels (all 5 stars and perfectly selected). The highlights of our trip included our camel ride at the pyramids, our tour of the Citadel (and mosque) in Cairo as well as our time with Mahmoud Farah in Aswan and Luxor. Mahmoud being from Luxor and an archaeologist was certainly a perk! Mahmoud even checked in on us when our domestic flight was delayed and to ensure we made it home safely. We enjoyed the balance of free time at the sites as well as dedicated time learning. We also enjoyed seeing the Egyptian countryside as we traveled by private car from Aswan to Luxor (this included local falafel!). In short, Egypt Joy made our trip to Egypt very memorable! The ease of booking and communication was well worth it. The value and experience (in comparison to a cruise, for example) was unmatched. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Egypt Joy for your travel to Egypt.

Our trip with Egypt Joy was perfect and exactly what we hoped for. From start to finish Hatem helped my husband and me create a custom itinerary for 2 days in Cairo and a 5 day/4night Nile Cruise from Luxor to Aswan on the Royal Ruby II. Our private guide for the cruise, Kareem, was so knowledgeable and always made sure we were taken care of. The cruise ship was newly renovated, the food was delicious, and the staff were very welcoming. The drivers, guides in Cairo, and airport transfer assistants were also all great. The cars were all very clean and modern with A/C. Everything went smoothly and we had a great program to see the highlights of Egypt. We booked a Tour from Hurghada to Luxor directly at the office close to our hotel and we definitely would do it again. It is quite a long journey by car and we safed lots of time with the private driver because there were no other stops at hotels to pick up other passengers. The tourguide in Luxor, Adel, gave us a great tour through the valley of kings, temple of hatshepsut and the temples of karnak. There were no extensive shopping tours and all of our questions about history of the sights were answerd perfectly. The journey home was long, but still fast and we got back to our hotel safely.

This tour was the highlight of our trip. I definitely recommend the hot air balloon ride at sunrise, absolutely stunning. Hatem was responsive and accommodating when booking this tour over WhatsApp. Mohammed was great for driving us over the 2 days and Wahleed gave us lots of info at the sites. I appreciated Wahleed giving us options of other sites to visit and no pressure to add on anything. We were clear we weren’t interested in shopping and he respected that. I would happily do this tour again!

My parents had booked this tour with Egypt Joy Travel and recommended it to my partner and I. From my first interaction with the company I already knew it was going to be a great trip! Our amazing driver Mahmoud picked us up with ease and made us feel very comfortable. We had quite a drive to Luxor but the car was spacious and had aircon so this wasn’t an issue, once we were close to the first stop we picked up our tour guide for the day who was also called Mahmoud he was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable and we immediately knew it was going to be an amazing day! We visited Karnak temple, Clossal Memnon, Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut temple as well crossing the Nile on a boat and having a delicious lunch on the Nile! I could not fault one thing about this company, our driver, our tour guide or the day itself, we truly had an unreal experience. Thank you so much and we’ll definitely be booking more trips with this company when we are back in Egypt!

We booked with Hatem, Pyramids and Dolphins. Absolutely amazing, it’s a long day in Cairo seeing the Pyramids and museum, plus more, but 100% worth it. Youssef our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and kind. He did everything we wanted to do and there was no pressure. The driver was amazing in Cairo as it’s crazy traffic.
