- bobgianna0 contributionsA must see monastery but do not buy icons at before visiting itThis Monastery is a must see if you're in Sharm area. Keep in mind that the excursion take a whole day therefore a very early departure. This excursion was offered in different languages therefore it was sometimes confusing as more info was given in Italian than English. Keep in mind that the guide is more interesting how he will get commission from the group than anything else. For example he was saying a price for Italian people but a different and higher price for Russians. Before visiting the monastery there's a stop a the welcome center to purchase different souvenirs and icons. DO NOT purchase from there. There's a souvenir shop at the monastery which is cheaper and it's run by the monks. The guide want us to purchase the icons before so he could get his comisson and also lie to us by telling that there's no chance to buy icons at the monastery. On the way back there's a mandatory stop another souvenir shop with typical overprice items which you can find in Sharm at a fraction of the price. Of course you can bargain but this place is not the ideal place to purchase souvenirs but it's part of the itinerary. The last stop was luch at restaurant which has ordinary food, drinks excluded. Overall the monastery is worth it but maybe with a private driver if you want to avoid the hassle.Written June 7, 2024
- Ben R0 contributionsAmazing tour of an amazing siteThe company offers Russian and English speaking tour guides. We were with the English speaking tour guide and he was really informative at Petra and along the coach journey. The journey takes a long time being about 9 hours each way, consisting of 2 coach journeys and a boat ride across the sea to Jordan. All of the transfers were completely handled by the company and they provided all forms and tickets needed to make the journey nice and easy. At Petra the entry was payed for and the tour guide took us down to the Treasury and round to the Amphitheatre. Our guide provided a lot of insight into different parts of Petra as we made our way down and then we had an hour and a half of free time to look around the site and take our own photos after the guided tour. After visiting Petra we went to a Restaurant in the nearby town where the meal was pre paid and only drinks were extra. Couldn't recommend more for the price and it was one of the best experiences I have had on holiday.Written January 20, 2024
- davidpV2939RV0 contributionsOK, but rather expensive.Booked through the hotel rep at £40 each including transport. You got about 40 minutes actual underwater time. It was good for the non-swimmers but you didn't see much more fish varieties than snorkelling the hotels' house reef. We thought it a bit expensive and wouldn't do it again if we came back to Sharm.Written November 12, 2023
- sammee1630 contributionsSharm El Sheikh 6 in one day safari tripbe warned the beach at DAHAB for snorkeling is very stony beach ,very choppy waters not good for weak swimmers ,dont be fooled in to taking part use your own mind not the guides say so ,it is risky , also the climb on the canyon without any safety measures very risky and not covered by travel insurance the guides will say its safe to snorkel and climb the canyon believe me its not, also be careful you get extra charged for most things . make sure you know the exchange rate because you will get ripped off ,well you get ripped off any way ,all they want is US dollars and not Egyptian pounds , do not book your trips from hotel reps ,shop around you will make a great saving ,we were asked for 55 pounds per person by rep but we booked it ourselves for 25 pounds pp outside ,Cairo day trips by coach reps 75 to 90 pounds pp we got it for 50 pounds outside all from Sharm el sheikh ,,,good luck and be careful .Written October 29, 2023
- dazuki0 contributionsWould not recommendThe transport was 40min late when it did arrive it was a white minibus not a jeep, which was hot and uncomfortable we were ferried to a diving shop were they tried to scare us into hiring life jacket swim suits and fins...all were not necessary, when we refused they told us that the police would not let us snorkel all were lies. Then after the camel ride our guide said we would now eat then snorkel in the sea, so when I asked about the blue hole the guide said no blue, so insisted that the take us to the blue hole which was part of the trip, he reluctantly took us. Aftrr we had our dry chicken and rice, dragged round a bazaar in dahab a walk in the desert and eventually back to the hotel.Written October 7, 2023
- jasonvnobbs0 contributionsGood but could be betterJerusalem is one of those must see places, it is fascinating and this tour does get you to the must see parts if the city. The organisation of the tour needs a little improvement, and it is a really arduous trip, but the biggest problem is the boarder crossing between Egypt and Israel it took the Israel boarder force 5 hours and 20 min to process less than 150 people ! Farcical...Written October 7, 2023
- tifferss0 contributionsIncredible Cairo experienceThis was an AMAZING day! Double check and check again in WhatsApp which day you are confirmed- we had a mix up but the team did resolve this straightaway and we were on our way. The coach wasn’t packed so we had space to sit together comfortably unlike other tours I’ve done. The drive is long but it flew by for us- 4 children, 2 with SEN, were completely fine and slept most of the way. The staff are really brilliant and go out of their way to make it a fun trip, Omar, you and your colleague who I’m ashamed I don’t remember his name, were excellent! Omar knows so much information and will help out a lot! This is a fast paced trip and you need to keep up but will see so much! This isn’t a chilled saunter but you will experience Cairo as it should be. I didn’t appreciate the oil shop stop much but being assertive works. It was overall an unforgettable day and the staff managed to get me on a camel and actually enjoy it! Thank you so much for a top journey. It’s Tiffany the assertive British woman ;) thank you SHKRAN. I highly recommend this trip and the company who safely and comfortably transported us for hours through the desert on a scorching hot day for an unforgettable day. The driver was sweet too. Take the Nile boat ride and lunch it was lovely. Much love to the team for the memories xoxoxoWritten August 18, 2023
- Jon P0 contributionsGreat trip crap companyWe went with this company because we thought it was non Russian and paid extra for a English speaking guide We get on the coach to be met by very sturn Anna who told us "I am Russian, this is a Russian company and I speak Russian and that was what she did it was not until we got to Bethlehem that we got a English speaking guide but by then the trip was spoilt, the history and the cultural part was fantastic don't get me wrong and I was glad we did it but as the BoneyM song says "arr those russians"Written July 12, 2023
- yolandagE8888OT0 contributionsGreat experienceThe trip was not a cheap one however it’s understandable as it involves getting quite the infrastructure in Egypt and Jordan. I wished we could have stayed longer in Petra rather than stopping so many times for short breaks in markets/shops. The drive between Petra and the port is around 2 hours but we stopped twice. Other than that, the guides on both sides were great. I would recommend the trip and although it takes 24 hours it is not tiring.Written June 18, 2023
- imitravels0 contributionsAvoid this excursion, they charged extra for snorkel on the and life jacket on the day!Our guide sayed was very rude, we were charged extra on the day for the snorkel and life jacket!!. The snorkeling place was very dirty, there were flies everywhere when they gave us lunch, this was a piece of chichen and rice. Camel riding was for only 5 mins and quad biking for 10mins. Such a waste of a day and our money.Written June 11, 2023
- I H0 contributionsScammed us by changing coaches. AvoidWe booked our holiday with one of the guys from the Naama bay market. We booked a lot of excursions over a 3 day period. For this excursion we were supposed to do Snorkeling, quadbiking, Jeep tour, canyon tour and Camel riding. I will talk about what they did to us for this day. Our tour guide was syed. He picked us up late, whilst we waited in the sun. He didn't want to go into the Hilton hotel premises as they do security checks on the minibus. He gave a list of things we would do and he decided to take off Jeep tour and Canyon. When we asked he said its not part of it. Without a fuss we tried to call Mustafa, to ask if this is true and syed our tour guide told the driver to put the music up... pathetic! He decided to remove some people from our group and put them in another bus - this is point in important to understand the scam. The scam was they swapped the passengers on the bus and took us elsewhere and not the same place. At the end they did a swap of the people in the bus and we were on a bus with more European people and the guys we saw at the start. As we went to the first place. Syed said it was the canyon. It wasn't. It was some mountain area which we climbed in mid day heat! We had kids in our group. I can only think this was done to tire us out. The next place was the Camel riding. It was for under 5 minutes on the beach. The beach was dirty and smelt really bad. The camels didn't look healthy. In the same area we did the quad biking. Again this was for around 10 minutes. Maximum 1km round trip. 1 straight line. One of our quads stopped working. Another one didn't handle properly. Also there was supposed to be a buggy for the kids and Syed said no. So the kids and the parents had to sit out, even though we paid for it. In the same area was the Snorkeling. The water was filthy and there were 3 fish that we saw. There was another scam with this which was renting masks, slippers and life jackets. They made us pay for life jackets - I don't really need to explain any more for that part of the scam do I? We were given lunch in that same dirty area. My piece of chicken has a nice large whole fly fried on it. Gave it to the dog that was there and got told off for some reason. The others that were there that knew more Arabic than me knew that they were messing us around so they also threw their chicken and gave it to the dog. LOL We were supposed to eat at "an air-conditioned restaurant" After that we got a hold of mustafa and he spoke to syed and he decided to give the Jeep tour. Now the other people in the bus didn't pay for Snorkeling, quad biking and Jeep. They just came for the canyon and Camel ride. The scam was they swapped the passengers on the bus and took us elsewhere and not the same place. At the end they did a swap of the people in the bus and we were on a bus with more European people and the guys we saw at the start. The Jeep took all of us in it. So there was about 15 of us and couple guys hanging off the back. So he didn't go fast. We took the Jeep to the ACTUAL canyon and the kids and parents sat out as there was climbing but they got a fast Jeep ride back down as we were in the canyon walking back. So overall, the scam Syed pulled off, saved him £10 per person. So he saved £60 by scamming us. However, all the other excursions issues too. The advice i would give is. Even if you pay full price and what they want. They will still scam you for £5 or £10 rather than thinking that overall this will effect THEIR industry and people will stop coming in the long run.Written May 27, 2023
- luciacL3172KA0 contributionsNot an enjoyable experienceWe would highly recommend you do this activity with a private car and your own private guide , get there early before the big crowds .This was a 3 hour trip , one way ,we were jam packed into an uncomfortable mini bus with terrible A/C . The whole experience was so rushed , the itinerary suited the guide and driver ,not us . In Dahab , the shopping ,as stated, was a visit to one shop where they tried to sell you oils and jewelry, no free time to explore the Dahab centre , which looked great driving by . The bus trip back was hideous, we were so angry and upset , I couldn't wait to get off .Written May 14, 2023
- Global584942483870 contributionsAmazing place, but bad service! The whole trip lasted cca 12 hours, but most of the time we spent in the bus due to numerous check points. I know that it was not fault of guides, but it is important to note. When we finally came close to the Monastery, the guide took us to the souvenires shop stating that it was the only place to buy souvenires, even the candles, but it he lied, because all of these we could also buy in the Monastery. The Monastery visit lasted very shortly (cca 30 min of visit and 10 min break), so we went to Dahab, but it was just a very poor lunch which was included in the price of trip, without any break to see the place or swim. Instead of that, they took us to another souvenires shop with parfumes to buy. Also, whenever they decided to stop on the road, it was extremely expensive for Egyptian standards like 5 USD for 2 Cokes or 1 USD for the toilet (!), but the service was so bad. At the end, the guide asked for the tip for driver, even it was so obvious that majority of people were not satisfied. To summarize, the Monastery is amazing, but the service was very bad.Written April 30, 2023
- G4973RUannac0 contributionsGood trip with younger children, take money for a drink before hand if you wantDid this trip via Tui with a 7 and 8year old. Before boarding there is about a 20-30mins wait in the shade where you can get a drink, the waiters aren't too much hassle and we went prepared for this so enjoyed freshly made juices. There are souvenir shops too, no hassle at all, and there was a camel if you wanted a ride. There was also someone selling a guide to the fish for £3 (no haggling) which we got so the kids could be entertained if needed. On board there was a good amount of shade upstairs and then when we were allowed down there were seats for everyone and it was air conditioned. The sea was a bit choppy (check the weather before going) so one child got sea sick, I should have given him travel pills before hand. Plenty of fish to see, initially it was on the left but there was plenty to see on the right too. Transfer took 20mins, cafe 30mins, 20mins to get to the reef, 45mins of fish and then back again. There is a clean toilet on board. Our tour guide did not give us any information about the fish which would have been nice, even with the fish guide that we had bought. But he gave us lots of information about the area on the transfers. Overall I am very happy we did the tour because we haven't had much luck with snorkeling and the tour itself was just the right length with younger children.Written April 12, 2023
- ymrn0 contributionsDisappointingDisappointing. Your in Petra was with a guide that wasted your time in tourist traps and wasn’t knowledgeable. Too much time wasting during travel.Written March 30, 2023
